9 months since Mum arrived from one of the top 100 luxury care homes in England ... her physical health has improved considerably and her medication significantly reduced. Whilst dementia is a cruel, one-way street, it is lovely to see her improve in these ways. This is due to a combination of the building layout (having more separate rooms, with great staff from the management through to the care, housekeeping, kitchen and activity teams. Everyone is thoroughly welcoming and caring.
Thank you for your kind words and taking the time to write a review. We're delighted to hear that your mum's physical health has improved and that she's well settled at Oat Hill Mews. It means a great deal to know that our team, environment, and approach have made such a positive difference. We truly appreciate your trust and support.
My mum in law is safe, well looked after and is eating much more healthily than she was.
The rooms and the whole home are so clean and well thought out. It is just a lovely lovely place with excellent care. They let our little doggies visit which is fantastic as she loves the doggies and our little doggie made quite a few new friends when she visited.
Thank you for looking after my mum in law and helping us navigate this difficult journey.
At Oat Hill Mews Care Home - Care UK we set a high standard for ourselves, so we are very pleased to hear that your experience with us has been a positive one. We will pass on your kind words to our staff, we really appreciate your kind words.
Thank you for your time,.
Many thanks the Care UK team
Steve initially gave us a tour and we were impressed. He continued to impress from then on. The team were brilliant, caring and above all happy. Whether that was Dani on reception or the care team, or the rest of the group.
My father definitely benefitted from the care provided.
It's wonderful to know the team made such a great impression and helped create a caring, welcoming environment. We're especially pleased that...
Hairdressers and chiropodist were also nice to have on site.
But the best thing were the staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Thank you all.

I was so impressed by eveything that my wife is now a permanent resident at the home and has settled really well. Her every need is cared for and she enjoys the food each day and the wide variety of activities and entertainment available.
If you are looking for a residential care home in the Market Harborough area, Oat Hill Mews is my recommendation.
Hi Hugh,
Thank you very much for taking the time to leave us feedback about your experience.
At Oat Hill Mews Care Home - Care UK we set a high standard for ourselves, so we are very pleased to hear that your experience with us has been a positive one.
From my first enquiry visit to my departure, I found all the staff to be obliging and helpful. The food was so well presented and the variety was brilliant; not one dish was repeated in the 2 weeks, well, one was, Friday fish and chips, but one would expect that. The rooms are light and airy, bathroom is cleaned each day with towels and flannels changed. A good variety of mid-morning and afternoon events are arranged, which my visiting partner and I enjoyed. I could not fault the care home.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us feedback about your experience.
We are so glad you enjoyed your stay with us and happy to hear that you enjoyed the food provided.

enough for me, the food was delicious and lots of choice. There was a beautiful vase of flowers, card and chocolates in my room so very welcoming. I particularly enjoyed the many activities that were put on for us all. I have made many new friends and had lots of laughs.
Thank you so much for your lovely review. We're absolutely delighted to hear that you had such a wonderful time with us over the past two weeks. We're so glad you enjoyed the flowers, card, and chocolates. It's the little touches that we hope made your stay extra special. We're so happy to hear...
She has settled into her new surroundings, and is enjoying her comfortable room which has a lovely view of the garden and patio area. It is more like a hotel than a care home, with good quality furnishings in tasteful colours. Everything is kept very clean which my mother approves of. She is well cared for and enjoys the daily food menu which is varied with good quality ingredients.
The cafe area has a good choice of beverages and cakes to enjoy when visiting.
The home also offers various activities and entertainment. My mother always looks forward to her regular appointment with the resident hairdresser.
The staff are professional and are always at hand for any questions I have.
I would definitely recommend Oat Hill Mews to anyone looking for a residential care home in the Market Harborough area.

Their friendly approach has made the stays a delight so much so that my Dad had a week with them even though unlike Mum he is not suffering from Alzheimer's!
They both enjoyed the VE Day 80th party having been at the original in 1945 as children.
Thank you very much for taking the time to leave us such a positive review. We are delighted to hear that your parents enjoyed their stays with us and were supported well by our friendly teams. It was lovely that your parents played a big part our VE celebrations and had such a good time!We hope to see them again soon. Many thanksThe Oat Hill Mews teamsCare UK
Having read through all previous reviews I can confirm from my personal experience visiting my auntie on a weekly basis that every word is accurate and true. Oat Hill Mews offers top quality care in all aspects of later life . Having visited at different times and different days, I have always found the same high quality of care, unlike past experience for my own parents in smaller Care home settings.

All the staff we met were professional & welcoming. The residents were welcoming to mum as well.
Mum enjoyed her "holiday ", knowing she had staff to help her if needed, & helping her to remember who was going to be coming to see her and when she'd be going home again.
Plenty of choice each mealtime (freshly cooked) with menus displayed each day, which helped mum's declining memory.
She loved being able to chat with both staff and residents, having her hair done, joining in the varied activities along with family being able to pop in to see her for a drink and cake in the cafe.
The subtle prompts within the care home helped mum find her way round too.
Mum is looking forward to being able to stay again.
Thank you for your lovely complimentary review. We are delighted to hear that you were pleased with the care we provided for your mum, to give her a relaxed and supportive 'holiday' with us!It was good to hear that she enjoyed the social aspect and joining in with activities and visiting the hair...
Now the very important bit, the people your leaving the person with. I can safely say the complete team of staff have been nothing other than brilliant to my cousin, my family and friends. The staff are highly training and are al employed and not agency staff. The time and trouble they take with the residents is in creditable and in talking to staff if any equipment is required Care UK have it on-site within days. I think this organisation has the correct people at the top, middle and bottom.
Food excellent

From the initial meeting of the staff and manager and all involved with the care has been amazing. Our mum had a fall in January 2024 and after a stay in hospital was unable to return to her home. We chose this care home as we felt as a family that she would enjoy the surroundings and the warm atmosphere. From the start the staff were caring and kind not only to Mum but also the whole family; she settled well and was comfortable and well cared for. The kindness and respect that the staff showed to Mum, and us, at the end of her life will never be forgotten.

The compassionate care that my relative receives at Oat Hill Mews is exceptional. It is a great comfort to know that she is safe and cared for by the wonderful staff. It does not feel like a care home when you walk in; it is more like a hotel with its welcoming well stocked cafe adjacent to the reception area where there is always a warm welcome. The hairdressing salon is popular as is the thoughtful programme of activities arranged each week. I would have no hesitation in recommending Oat Hill Mews to any family looking for care for their loved one.

Mum moved into the home in April 2024 to be closer to us in the area. Our first introduction was at the official opening of the home and signed up shortly afterwards with the help of the Customer Relationship Management and the team who answered all our questions and made us feel at home. They went to great lengths to ensure my mum felt welcomed from the start and the care staff helped to settle her in. As Mum's mobility has further deteriorated the deputy manager has made great efforts to adapt and maintain her socialization with the other residents and enable her to still take part in activities where she can. The chefs provide an excellent range of meals and are ready to be flexible with residents' dietary issues. It is a great weight of our minds that her medication is being monitored closely and thanks go to the senior leaders and the rest of the team for making this possible. The housekeeping staff ensure the home is maintained to a high standard. All staff we have meet have been friendly and open.
Thank you very much for taking the time to leave us a review about your experience. At Oat Hill Mews Care Home - Care UK we set a high standard for ourselves, so we are very pleased to hear that your experience with us has been a positive one.
Mum has dementia so joined the other dementia residents on their dedicated floor. She was looked after so well by people who really cared. I was struck by how polite, friendly, patient, and caring the staff were to all the residents. I was able to visit at any time which I found very reassuring. Mum thought she was in a hotel and was much happier and more settled than I had expected she would be.
The home itself is beautiful, the decor and furnishings are so lovely and comfortable, all rooms and areas are light and bright, and the atmosphere created by everybody working there couldn't be better. I have no hesitation in recommending Oat Hill Mews to anyone looking for a residential care home.

My mum has been a resident of this truly exceptional care home since July 2024. From the moment we walked through the doors to view the home, we could not have felt more welcome. We were (very proudly) shown around the beautiful facilities, and importantly, all the questions we had on our list were answered before we even had to ask. The personal approach each resident receives is exceptional. The staff are extremely friendly, thoughtful, attentive, and really take the time to get to know each resident as an individual. There is a host of activities on offer, whether it is a craft session, quiz, book club, movie night, gardening, local entertainers, seated exercise, and more besides. Each of the resident suites are beautifully decorated, spacious, thoughtfully arranged, and with natural light coming from either a lovely view or access to the gardens. We highly recommend Oat Hill Mews and feel that we could not have asked for a better or more friendly place for my Mum to call her home.
Thank you very much for taking the time to leave us such positive feedback and for rating Oat Hill Mews so highly. We are particularly delighted to read your very complimentary comments regarding the team and the personal attention that we provide for your mum.Thank you very much for your high recommendation and sharing your positive experience. Many thanks The Oat Hill Mews team Care UK
My mum has been a resident since August having a shorter stay earlier in the year. All members of staff have been very kind and supportive in all conversations and interactions we have had as close family members of a resident. We feel well supported and listened to. The home is always very clean and tidy. The food is excellent. Visitors are looked after very well and always made to feel welcome. I would have no hesitation in recommending this care home.
Thank you very much for the lovely feedback that you have given the teams at Lonsdale. We set a high standard for ourselves, so we are very pleased to...
My mother arrived suddenly at Oat Hill Mews following poor health and many weeks in hospital. She was met by staff with open arms and taken to her beautiful en-suite bedroom with doors opening onto a central courtyard. Staff courteously came to introduce themselves, before giving her time and space to recover. Her respite stay soon became full-time as her strength returned under the care and watchful eyes of the amazing staff. We can't fault the friendly staff or thank them enough for all their care. They are all wonderful people who go out of their way to help residents and their families. The facilities are first class, as is the food. Multiple activities are offered daily from seated yoga and dance to musical events, animal petting, and outings. Not forgetting a regular movie afternoon with drinks and popcorn. All in all a wonderful home from home. Enough social stimulation to keep the most needy social butterfly going, and quiet rooms for those who prefer a quieter path.
Thank you very much for taking the time to leave us your wonderful feedback about your experience of Oat Hill Mews. We are delighted to hear your positive feedback about our teams and all that we provide for a fulfilling and supportive life for your mum. At Oat Hill Mews we set ourselves a high...

Meet the Team (1)

I have been passionate about providing excellent care throughout my career.
I joined Care UK as I wanted to work with a company that shared my belief in providing excellent care for residents and share my passion for person-centred care.
As a Home Manager, I believe I must be organised, calm, empathetic and patient to provide the best care to residents. Having these traits has helped me to build great relationships with residents which is often my favourite part of my job. I enjoy getting to know residents and learning about their hobbies and their interesting lives before joining us at Oat Hill Mews.
One of the biggest achievements in my career is my BSc in Nursing which led me to work as a Nurse. I then moved on to home management within a few years as I loved watching staff develop and provide the residents with the best care. One of my biggest achievements throughout my career was developing my team to provide the best care which was rewarded with an improvement in our CQC score.
