Norfolk House

My mother has been in Norfolk House for 4 1/2 years, and it's thanks to the care she receives that it has been that long. The staff are all very caring and treat her with complete dignity despite her not being able to do anything for herself these days. The activities team also include her as much as they can in all the fun they organise regularly. Mum has a lovely big room with ensuite bathroom. The decor is a little tired, but it's comfortable, and it's the care that matters most.

I was visiting a resident, I have been visiting for about 10 months. I always find the staff very helpful and they seem to enjoy their jobs. The resident I visit seems quite happy and settled in the home, they feel they made a good move with going there. I would be more than happy to recommend the home.

My Mother has been at Norfolk House. Care home for several years now, she is safe and looked after to a very high standard. The staff are always cheerful and happy to help. They keep me updated on how she is and if there are any changes to her medication and G.P visits. She is happy and loves the pet therapy and other activities, I would certainly recommend Norfolk House.

My mother has been a resident at Norfolk house for 3 years & each year the care has been excellent. The care & attention the staff give the residents is superb. All the staff from the cleaners to the nurses are so friendly & kind They have two lovely ladies that create the most wonderful activities within the home & go above & beyond to make sure the residents are being stimulated & entertained. The nurses particularly are very good. professional caring & always keep me informed. My Mother has Dementia so this is very reassuring to know she is being cared & treated well 24/7. I highly recommend this care home.

We visit our friend every month and are always impressed by the level of care she receives. Nothing is ever too much trouble. Staff are wonderful.

My sister in law was a resident here for 4 months and throughout her stay she received exceptional care- The staff took the time to get to know her with kindness, dignity and respect. They were always willing to help and kept our family updated regularly which meant so much to us - we are truly grateful for the compassion and support shown to her right until she peacefully passed away in the home. Thank you to everyone for making her final months as comfortable and caring as possible

I feel that the monthly fees are too high for what she receives, but do appear to be on a par with other nursing homes.

I was also pleased to see the continuity of carers, most of them we met 6 months ago when we were looking around. This must show Norfolk House as a good place to work and flows through to the happiness I see there.

Meals are of a good standard, and suggestions for additions/changes are welcome.

The amazing care my mother in law was given at Norfolk House meant she had 2 years of wonderful care, great activities and events that she was encouraged to join in. We felt she was very safe and secure here, and the staff's encouragement in doing day-to-day activities gave mum a lovely way to pass the day. Don't forget night-time nursing too - thank you.

My mother has been a resident for 6 months. Up to now the care has been excellent. Everyone has been so welcoming which has helped my mum settle in quickly. Communication from everyone has been great and very consistent. We are pleased we found somewhere that my mum is safe, comfortable and looked after.

Staff and nurses are caring, polite and always happy. Great communication on daily updates and well being as yet nothing is too much when asked for.

My parents have been residents in this care home for over six months. I highly recommend it. It is extremely well run. All the staff at every level are very well trained, kind to the residents, professional, skilled and fully committed to the welfare of residents. Managers, nurses, carers, domestic staff, activity coordinators and reception staff all greet people with a smile, exude warmth, communicate well with residents and the family and show flexibility in how they work. Overall an excellent care home, thoroughly recommended.

I feel that my father was treated with respect and dignity. I found the staff very friendly and supportive. It was very comforting knowing that my father was being looked after so well and always seeing the same friendly faces. We were always made to feel welcome and felt safe in the knowledge that my father was in a nice, clean, peaceful environment. Thank you to all the staff at Norfolk House.

At my first contact, they explained to me the process and what to expect. I was directed to their social media page to explore the home and was sent emails as examples of what the contract etc. would look like. All the questions I asked were answered, if the person I spoke with didn't know the answer they found somebody who could answer and got back to me. It was a bit overwhelming when my Aunt first arrived as there was a lot of form filling and various people all wanting different things, but once that was all done it was more relaxed and we were able to settle my Aunt in more leisurely. I wasn't able to visit my Aunt over the two weeks she was there, but family who did, all reported that the home, staff and food were all very good and there was plenty of activities planned. My Aunt's own at home carers also visited and fed back that the home was well run and staff were very attentive. I would have no worries if my Aunt wanted to stay after her respite care.

My mother has been a resident of Norfolk House for the past 18 months. Over that time, her health has improved, and the level of care and stimulation has been much higher than when she lived in her own house. I am impressed with how attentive the care staff and nurses are to her medical needs. I no longer have to worry about her as I know she is getting the best support possible. Thank you to all the staff who contribute to her care.
