Overall Experience
My Mother was a resident of Norfolk House for almost 7 years.
We have always been happy with her care. The staff have looked after her and taken care of all her needs exceptionally well.
As her care needs developed they upped their level of care. Always at a very high standard.
I think they helped her to make it to the amazing age of 97!
She has recently passed away. And her end-of-life care was dealt with kindness and consideration for her and myself. (Her daughter).

Myself and my family have always been made to feel welcome at the home.

Overall Experience

My experience with Norfolk house has been nothing but positive. The safety, communication, person-centred care, activities, cleanliness, facilities and food quality were all of an exceptional standard. The staff are well trained in all aspects and also genuinely compassionate kind and responsive. My grandmother got to know and trust the staff who advocated for her and picked up signals very quickly if she became unwell. She thought the care home was her flat which just shows how safe and comfortable she felt. It was nice to be able to feel reassured she was being looked after so well. In particular, the end-of-life care to my grandma afforded her dignity, safety and comfort. In the last week of her life, I was there a lot the staff were very kind and caring towards myself and my grandmother. The care and support provided was consistently excellent the whole time.

My mother spent the last 18 months of her life here before she passed away. It was a great place for her. Norfolk House is extremely well-managed thanks to its great team of loving, caring and diligent staff. I can't thank these wonderful people enough for their care.

On arriving I find very poor parking for visitors and deliveries on entering I find the home very pleasing. The staff are so helpful. The food I find is very good. But sometimes not very warm. The choice is very good, also there is always a cup of tea on hand. My partner's room is okay but could have a few pictures on the wall to brighten the room up. Overall experience is a pleasant experience to visit.

Excellent care for my mother from compassionate, friendly and respectful staff. The range of activities is good, especially music-based ones which most residents respond well to.

The end-of-life care for my (step) father-in-law was at a high level. The first-floor staff, both day and night, were kind, attentive and went above board to make sure he was always comfortable and they maintained his dignity at all times. The care and consideration for the family going through a hard time watching a loved one deteriorate was also so wonderful - many cups of tea were offered!

Thank you!

My partner with Parkinson's, Dementia and other ailments was admitted from hospital, like a living corpse - within 5 days he was back on his feet, a bit wobbly and eating and drinking. Without exception, the staff are wonderful and cannot do enough for him. I would not be able to look after him with that amount of care and compassion and occasionally humour! I am satisfied and grateful for the care he gets. There is no worry in my mind that he is in the best place.

My partner became a resident at Norfolk House in December 2020 at the height of COVID. For the past 3 and a half years he has been cared for with compassion and dignity. All his needs are met as far as they can be with his dementia. Whether it be medical, general care and welfare plus his diet. I have had no reason to make a formal complaint. The atmosphere in the home is lovely and I do not feel depressed when entering.

My family and I are so pleased with the care provided at Norfolk House. The staff are so kind and thoughtful and have made the transition from home to a care home so much easier for us as a family and for our father. Norfolk house is clean and tidy and the facilities provided for residents are lovely. The whole day feels relaxed but well organised. Staff are always around and take care of everyone there. I think the staff and their attitude is the area that we are the most impressed with. They are kind and caring with all the residents and seem to go above and beyond what is expected. Even behind the scenes in terms of administration has also been fantastic.

Communication has been brilliant and assistance with the paperwork is spot on. I would recommend Norfolk House to anyone I know. I can honestly say that I enjoy visiting.

I was so impressed with the care provided to my nan, I always felt she was safe, looked after and they genuinely spoke to her and looked after her making her feel special. It was clean, safe and she was well looked after. I couldn't thank them enough for looking after my nan when we couldn't always be there. We are a larger family so there were a lot of visitors yet they were always happy for us to be there and knew who we were. We were so grateful.

My dear mother came to Norfolk House in October 2023 from the hospital. She sadly never returned home and passed away in January 2024. The care support and amazing compassion she was shown and given during her time at Norfolk House was truly incredible. As a family, we know she was safe and cared for in an exceptional way. The staff were excellent at all times and supported the family throughout a difficult time. My mother's last months of life were made comfortable and she was at peace. I highly recommend Norfolk House.

My Father became a resident at Norfolk House 3 months ago in January 2024. He has settled in well and seems content and well cared for. The staff are friendly and polite and responsive to any queries. Dad has enjoyed the food and assortment of entertainment that is provided.

I have been very impressed with how patient and caring all the staff have been since my Mum moved to Norfolk House. They take the time to comfort and reassure Mum when she is anxious. A member of staff always makes themselves available and is willing to help with all requests. I am also impressed by the activities program on offer and how much effort is made to involve those people of different abilities. Lastly, I appreciate the home's atmosphere - it makes a great difference.

My mother has been a resident at Norfolk House for over 5 years and during that period I have been very impressed with the level of care that she has received. The staff have been consistently efficient and kind and empathetic. They faced up to the challenges of Covid admirably.
The home is well maintained and always clean and has a generally serene atmosphere.

A special thank you to all the lovely people on the 2nd floor where Mum resides.
