Oakfield Croft

Since my dad came to Oakfield Croft for a 2 week Respite stay we have all been made to feel so welcome. All of the staff greet my dad and Us with a warm smile. Everybody has been so helpful and accommodating Our dad has settled in well and has enjoyed using the facilities, going on a trip out and sampling the food. The staff all seem so happy to be there too and place has a really positive buzz.

lovely friendly staff who are always welcoming and helpful. Sandie is happy and well looked after and we couldn't ask for more.

My grandad is well looked after and is happy living at the home. He enjoys meeting his family at the coffee shop and there is always lots of treats!

I've visited Oakfield Croft to vist my friend several times over this past few months and I have always been struck by the friendly attitude of the staff + residents alike. In addition I've also attend the monthly quiz nights where the hospitality has been great and the occaision a great success.

Staff exhibit great patience and understand even when residents not always cooperative or appreciative. Cafe area a great location both for the residents and for showing experiences amongst visitors/relatives. Knowing that residents are always safe is a great relief. Good to be able to take residents out on trips. On downside, events can be cancelled without any notice. Non-carers, e.g. reception, kitchen staff, housekeeping staff, hairdresser all very good with residents too.

Life-long friends of resident. We visit once a month and try to call on the phone once a week for about 20 months. Our friend is chair bound and has very poor eyesight and has lewy-body dementia. She cannot feed herself and our main concern/doubt is if she is being fed properly. We sometimes arrive to find her breakfast and lunch on the table in front of her, untouched. She cannot see or reach it. If maye that she has refused to eat but will eat some or all of it if we feed her. There does not seem an individual carer responsible for her during their shift. May take 4-5 tries to telephone her during the day, often no answer. Always a warm and friendly receptionist at the door.

Given the medical conditions of my dad, the attention given by the staff is excellent, including out-of-hours intervention when required. Angela and Kerry are particularly good staff. Activities are varied and pitched of the right level. Food is excellent and kitchen and cleaning staff are very good.

Oakfield Croft has looked after my mother very well for the past 4 years. The staff are extremely caring and attentive and always listen to our concerns.

Cannot fault the care and attention given to both my father in law and mother in law. The place has very clean facilities with the staff being very attentive and sympathetic to the residents and the family of the residents.

Staff have all been welcoming and helpful and the premises are modern and well maintained. All meals have a choice of menu and seem to go down well with the residents. Visiting permitted at any time. Car park could do with being a bit larger especially as no on street alternative

Our experience of Oakfield Croft was excellent on all levels. Mum has a fantastic stay for two weeks. I had already heard three separate word of mouth recommendations before her stay. All staff were friendly and professional. Mum found the food to be fancy restaurant standard and appreciated being gently reminded about meal times. Mum really loved all the activities too, and we were overall very impressed with the wide range of activities on offer.

My 97 year old mother with Alzheimer's was admitted to Oakfield at the end of June as a self funded resident. We chose Oakfield after research online and visiting the home. At every stage from first contact, we have had outstanding help and support from every member of the Care Home team with accurate, honest and transparent information and advice throughout. My mum has been cared for in an exceptionally kind, considerate and personalised manner with dignity at all times and consequently is setting in well. The care home is immaculately clean and well maintained and has a wonderful and evident warm and friendly culture in everything they do. Their communication with family is excellent and the facilities, activities and opportunities at the home for mum are first class. As a family we are completely satisfied and confident that mums best care and wellbeing are continually being maintained by the brilliant staff team at Oakfield Croft.

My auntie has been a resident at Oakfield Croft now for about 18 months. She has dementia and had got to the point where she wasn't safe living alone. The transition into residential care was made much easier due to the professionalism and care of all the staff there. She tells everyone now how lucky she is to live in such a beautiful place. She enjoys all the activities, the food, her friends and the staff. It's such a relief to know that she is well looked after and happy. (Also the coffee and cakes in the cafe downstairs are fab!)

Altogether a happy Respite and I would love him to have a further stay at Oakcroft

Regarding it's food, I have a very plain diet due to irritable bowel so often have to choose sandwiches and salad.

He is well cared for, food menu is very good, he has a lovely room and the communal areas are very comfortable.

My mum has recently been taken into Oakfield Care Home, the staff have been brilliant with her helping her settle in they are polite professional and caring, the building is lovely and modern, rooms are well maintained food is excellent, considering how upsetting it can can be moving a loved one into care they have been brilliant, too many brilliant staff to list.

My friend moved into Oakfield in October. We had visited their company and cuppa events many times and found the staff exceptionally friendly and supportive. The rooms are nicely decorated and spotless. All staff have been immensely helpful and caring. They understand my friend's needs and they have got to know him and his needs to enable a comfortable transition into care.

My experience with Oakfield Croft has been wonderful, it has made what can be a distressing time into a very pleasant task done with lots of thought and personalised care for my friend. Staff have done all that they can to make her most welcome, they have got to know her likes and dislikes and my friend has settled in very quickly.
