My Mother became a resident here at Silversprings in May this year. She was diagnosed with Vascular Dementia eight years ago and it was becoming too much for us to look after her at home. It took her about a month and a half to fully settle in. Now that she is, she is happy and relaxed and has made
friends. She enjoys the routines, entertainment and food and feels safe. The staff are very supportive, caring and kindly professional. I am so pleased to see her relaxed, happy and taken care off.

Ponteland Manor provides my mum with first class care for all her needs. The staff are diligent, hard working, and always attentive. They are exceptionally friendly and answer any arising questions I might have. The food provided is of a very high standard and nutritional (suited to an individuals needs)
the programme of activities included on a daily basis is extremely well managed and thought out. The home is impeccably clean, tidy and maintained. Overall it is obvious to see that the care home has a strong management team, is well organised with amazing staff who truly care about the residents experiences.

Just moved my mum-in-law into Priors House today. We had high hopes, having had previous experience with the team here, and we were not disappointed. Everyone was super friendly and welcoming to mum, and efficiently professional with all the checking-in procedures and paperwork. Looking forward to watching
her settle in to her new home and enjoying the facilities, activities and most importantly the community of staff and residents.

Priors did a fabulous job supporting us to transition mum from a care home in the East of England to near us in the Midlands. They communicated clearly, advised and then warmly welcomed mum. We look forward to building our relationship with Priors

I would like to thank all of the Cedrus House staff involved in making Mum's 100th birthday celebrations such a tremendous success last Friday. The decorations, food and drink made it very special. Despite Mum not being able to see the residents who visited her, she certainly sensed their presence
and said how grateful she was.
It was also fantastic to see three centenarians in the same room sitting next to each other - a moment to treasure.
Please send our family's special thanks to the catering team who made a such a splendid birthday cake for Mum.
The family all said how lovely it was that so many people were engaged in the celebrations making it truly a day to remember.
Thank you all once again for the celebrations and also for keeping my vulnerable Mum safe, happy and content

The dignity and respect that the staff at Stanecroft show towards our Mum is wonderful!! It makes us smile to see her so happy and settled into her new home and way of life. It was such a big change for her and us as a family, but made so much easier and so personal by the kindness, care and support
from all of the staff. We are always greeted with happy smiling faces and with positivity and understanding. It is a very inclusive environment with so much going on for the residents and time for them to enjoy activities and social gatherings in a safe and supportive way. Everybody is very approachable and so lovely to be able to visit our mum, at any time. When we have made requests, they are actioned very promptly and always feel the door is open for us. We feel our mum is being taken very good care of. Thank you to all the staff that make this happen.

This home is so good my Mum thinks she is in a hotel ! Great atmosphere , caring supportive and a fun place to be. She is very well looked after !
I was very anxious when I brought Mum here but I needn't have worried - she settled so well and a year later is thriving !
Although the dementia has not
gone away my Mum is more talkative, has fun and loves interacting with staff, residents and other relatives. Her carers are very good.
She really enjoys the social side, company and entertainment. The lifestyle team are excellent at providing suitable activities and try to do something for everyone - they really put huge effort into pleasing everyone and keeping residents engaged . Their personalities are brilliant for entertaining , engaging and keeping everyone happy( there is always a lot of laughter ) - they along with the rest of the team have made a huge difference to improving Mums quality of life. Seeing her happy is a huge relief and a joy to watch

A short stay for my wife while I was away seemed to work well, and she seemed happy and relaxed when I picked her up.
The management and staff were very welcoming throughout the process, so thanks to all involved.

I have lived here for five and a half years. I have enjoyed meeting new residents and making new friends and the staff have always been kind and considerate and have made this feel like home. I eat well and can always have an alternative to the menu if its something I don't fancy. If I have a problem
that needs medical attention a nurse or doctor will be called so I get the right treatment when I need it. In all, I am very happy living here.

Prince George House

Inadequate receipt given by chiropodist, written on pages from a receipt book (purchased in a high street shop?). No one noticed a badly infected toe which could have led to blood poisoning (March '25) after chiropodist did the resident's feet. I noticed during a brief visit as I live near London. Food
not good - 2nd rate for what is paid - £1000 pw. The resident is not encouraged to eat better. Some staff carers are rude - bad spillage in bathroom, I had to ask cleaning to make safe - much water on floor. Carer who also arrived was rude and spoke to the resident as if she was three years old.
Reply from Samantha Debenham, Reviews Team at Prince George House

Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns. We are truly sorry to hear about your recent experience at Prince George House and sincerely apologise for any distress this has caused you and your loved one.

Regarding the receipt from our chiropodist, we appreciate you bringing this to our attention. We strive to maintain professional standards in all aspects of our service, including clear and appropriate documentation, and we will review this immediately to ensure improvements are made.

The health and safety of the residents is our highest priority. We are deeply concerned to learn about the missed infection and the condition of the resident’s toe. We will be conducting a thorough internal review of this matter and reinforcing our staff training to ensure that such oversights do not occur again.

We also take your feedback about the food and dietary encouragement very seriously. Our catering team is committed to providing nutritious and enjoyable meals, and we will review the menu and resident support to better meet individual needs.

Finally, we regret any instances where the staff may have appeared rude or inattentive. Professional, respectful, and compassionate care is at the heart of what we do. We will address the issues you raised regarding staff conduct and ensure all team members adhere to the highest standards of respect and safety, including promptly managing any hazards such as spillages.

We welcome the opportunity to discuss these concerns further and work together to improve our service. Please feel free to contact us directly at complimentsandcomplaints@careuk.com

Thank you again for your valuable feedback. Best wishes

Mountbatten Grange

My mother moved to Mountbatten Grange 2 1/2 years ago, and since then her dementia has progressed significantly. A couple of months ago she was moved to the Nursing Dementia floor and, for her own safety, now requires 1-2-1 care. Throughout her residence, she has been treated with such loving care,
that it warms my heart to know she is in the best hands. She is registered blind and so my concern was that she would be left alone to live in a bubble of isolation, but the care staff seem to see who she is inside and often joke with her, so that, in her lucid moments, she smiles and seems happy. I can't ask for any more than that. This atmosphere would not be possible if it were not cascaded down from the management. I am always amazed to note that, as well as being responsible for the day-to -day running of the home, they make it their business to know the condition of each resident and can always tell me how my mother is doing that day. It is without doubt the best care home in our area.

Although my contact has so far only been as a visitor attending their monthly Dementia Cafe, I have always found Silversprings to be friendly and welcoming. The residents appear to be happy and extremely well cared for. There always seems to be numerous activities and interests for the residents including
trips out, celebrations and "special occasion" days and events. The staff I have met are extremely nice friendly people who genuinely care and offer compassion and respect.

We moved my mum to Silversprings just over a week ago after five months in another local home, and the difference has been amazing. Previously bedbound, she is now sitting up for meals, using the bathroom, and has already enjoyed a shower.

The staff are warm, enthusiastic, and encouraging, and there's

a real sense of activity and energy in the home. We are so pleased we made the move - Silversprings has already made a huge positive impact on Mum's quality of life. Keep up the good work :-)

I cannot rate the care for my father enough as it has been amazing. A big thank to all the staff who have gone above and beyond for Dad. They also make the family feel so welcome and part of their extended family. We have been kept well informed of how Dad is doing and also supported us through the
tricky times. I can't thank them enough, it's not an easy job but they make it look effortless with their level of care and attention. Thank you.

My father moved to the residential unit of the home in September 2023 which enabled him to continue to enjoy a good quality of life still following his dementia diagnosis. He really enjoyed it there and always had a cheeky smile and a joke with the lovely care staff who catered to his needs very well.
Sadly his health deteriorated even more and he was moved onto the nursing unit in June 25 for his end of life care.
The amazing nurse's and care staff made sure that Dads end of life care was with the utmost compassion, care and dignity. I could not have asked for anymore and they also made sure Dads family were kept informed and well supported at such a difficult time.
I will never forget this wonderful team of people that looked after my Dad over the 2 Years he was there. Truly outstanding care
