My husband was at Copice Lea for a short time having moved from a previous nursing home. The staff here are more caring and communicative. The food is excellent and the whole ambience is of a stately home. I would highly recommend this establishment for a loved one.

The staff are always very welcomin and friendly. The rooms are always clean and tidy. My mothers clothes are regularly washed but best not to bring woollen items because they tend to shrink! Overall very pleased.

Review from Phil S (Brother of Resident) published on 12 February 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My Brother Ian has been at Coppice Lea for some 18 months, and from the outset has been made most welcome as I have when I visit him. He is cared for very well and liked by all staff, even though he can be a bit difficult at times. His room is also kept clean and tidy. If I have a question his carer, Shannon or the medical team are always prepared to answer my request. The meals provided are to a high standard, with a good variety for all tastes and there is a different lunch choice every day. Plenty of activities are organised for the residents, all of whom are encouraged, where possible to participate. It is always easy to find a fault if you are that way inclined, but I cannot fault it as the care given to Ian has far exceeded my expectations.

Reply from Rowen Campbell, on behalf of the team at Coppice Lea

Thank you so much for your kind words, and for taking the time to share your experience of our home. We really appreciate your feedback, and it's a pleasure to have your brother with us. My gran has been at Coppice Lea now for nearly 7 years. She is well cared for and liked by all the staff and we as a family are very happy with the care she is receiving . She doesn't participate in many activities unless we are involved too but is happy when she does. We love how the home includes the families in events and activities so we are able to spend more time there with her. We have good communication with the staff almost daily and they are all wonderful! My gran is treated very well and her room is always clean and tidy. The food is good too and varied weekly to suit the needs of the residents and family can sometimes join in for lunch at a small charge. Staff are friendly and helpful at all times and welcome us every time. Can't fault anything and we are truly grateful that they care so much for my gran.

Reply from Stuart Lamacraft, on behalf of the team at Coppice Lea

I have been made to feel very welcome since I arrived. The personnel are excellent getting to know your likes and dislikes as much as they can and ensuring you are comfortable at all times. Surrounded by trees the home is set in fabulous grounds which are maintained beautifully. My room is clean and bright and tastefully decorated in a contemporary style and I have the most fantastic view overlooking the grounds. There is a weekly newsletter with all the activities available and at Christmas everyone excelled themselves lots of decorations, fabulous food and a jolly time was had by all. I am very happy here.

My Mum has lived at Coppice Lea for 15 months. As her needs have changed, Shannon and her wonderful staff have looked after my mum so well. Her dementia has worsened over this time. Mum is 95 now. They assess her growing needs as time goes on and I can feel at ease leaving my precious mum with such lovely caring staff. My sisters and I are so grateful for their genuine loving and caring attitude. She couldn't be in better hands. It is such a warm and comfortable home with amazing food and such dedicated entertainment staff. I like the fact that they are in regular' contact with the relatives to discuss any changes or concerns.

Thank goodness for Coppice Lea and their wonderful staff

My mother has been living in Coppice Lea for almost eighteen months and has been very happy in all that time. She is treated with dignity & respect by all members of staff and is included in as many of the daily activities as she wants to be. I just want to say how wonderfully caring the staff were in looking after my mother in law. We had looked at other homes but following a recommendation and 2 visits, we knew Coppice Lea was right. Margaret had an excellent room, full of light, over looking the garden. It was immediately home from home for her and for us. She was so warmly welcomed, as were we.

The peace of mind it gave us to drop in at any time and find her happily participating in the activities was priceless. She enjoyed everyday she was there. When my mother in law became unwell the staff's level of competence in looking after her was exemplary. She was cared for with dignity and compassion as were we. After a period in hospital, her wish was to return to the place that she considered home in order to end her days. We will be eternally thankful for her time at Coppice Lea.

The Staff at Coppice Lea were outstanding in the care of my mother. It did not matter what their role was from cleaners, kitchen, house keeping, nurses, admin; they all got to know my mother and care for her in their different ways.
When my mother was agitated, the nursing staff invested time sitting with her, caring and trying to distract her and calm her down.
The staff were creative in providing things that would interest my mother, even printing articles in Dutch, which is her mother tongue or letting her sit in the Nurses office to make her feel important.
There was a member of staff there every day, who would spend time engaging individuals in activities, and on special occasions they had Parties.

When my mother's dementia became severe we had to move her. But I was aware that the staff had tried their hardest to keep her in a safe and happy environment. It was a sad day when we had to say Good Bye to the Coppice Lea staff.

My parents moved to Coppice Lea in December 2024. They have a large, spacious room which, like the whole building, is kept clean and fresh smelling.
The staff are wonderful, caring and compassionate. Always friendly and welcoming whenever I visit. My parents are treated with respect and affection. Nothing is too much trouble, they are so patient!
Food is fantastic. Visitors are welcomed and may eat with residents.
Entertainment is varied with something to appeal to everyone.
Special occasions are celebrated, we had a wonderful family party for my father's 90th.
The grounds are beautiful and my father loves to walk with a carer, when he is well enough.
Everything about Coppice Lea is done to a high standard, but what makes it exceptional is the care given by the staff. My parents are so very grateful for everything which is done for them, my mother calls the carers "love on legs"!

My initial review was too long because there are so many wonderful things to say about Coppice Lea!

The level of care and service this home offers is exceptional. My aunt has been there for over 3 weeks now and all of the staff have delivered a level of care and support to her that has made a massive difference to her standard of living. The building itself and the surrounding grounds provide a picturesque environment, and the rooms and internal facilities are well laid out and immaculately maintained.
