Coppice Lea is set within five acres of landscaped gardens and wooded grounds, the elegant Victorian house has been converted to provide residential, nursing and dementia care. All bedrooms are of a pleasant size and afford splendid rural views. They have attractive ensuite facilities, a colour television and direct dial telephones. All bedrooms are equipped with the latest nurse call system.

An experienced and qualified care and nursing team deliver care through individualised care plans which are designed in consultation with the individual resident, their family/advocates and a senior member of the nursing team. Care plans are regularly reviewed and adjusted to a resident's caring needs.

Life at Coppice Lea is varied and interesting. A dedicated health and wellbeing coordinator ensures there is a wide range of activities available, including arts and crafts, baking, flower arranging and light exercise.

They have their own dementia training, which highlights the importance of meaningful activities and a stimulating environment for people living with dementia, in addition to addressing clinical aspects of care.

My husband stayed at Coppice Lea Care Home for respite in December 2021. The moment I enter the home, I can feel the homely atmosphere. All staff are so polite and very caring. When I call my husband he always tells me how wonderful the staff are including the very dedicated home manager who sees my
husband almost every day. Thank you for the outstanding staff at Coppice Lea.

I would like to tell you how lovely your staff were to me during the final two weeks of my mother’s life, when she was on end-of-life care. I was by her side, both night and daytime hours, at all hours over the entire festive period. All the staff and the lovely carers/staff and nurses, whose names
I cannot recall, were very patient and caring towards me as I sat by my Mum’s side. The kitchen staff even fed me and kept me going during my time there. The laundry staff and cleaners crept past me, without disturbing me, and the night staff were welcoming in the small hours too. I’m sure I got under everyone’s feet at times but I was still made to feel very welcome, always! Thank you, to the staff, for easing an emotionally draining time for me. The flower on Mum’s pillow was a lovely touch. The new manager is in a different league of friendliness, compared to the sourness of his predecessor. Congratulations on his employment!

During my mother's time at Coppice Lea she has sadly gone from being fairly independent and needing some support, to becoming totally dependent for all her needs - more so since relatives are no longer allowed to visit individuals' rooms! Surely we could be treated as key workers, tested regularly and
by allowing access it would free up staff for more important duties. We could also provide the one to one stimulation they need, preventing depression and mental health issues. If I feel something is wrong with my mother's care I speak directly to the manager, however, I do find there appears to be a lack of communication between staff at all levels. Sometimes I am told something will be one, only to find out later from my mother that it hasn't.

Overall I find Coppice Lea very good and the care given to dad. The rooms could benefit with an upgrade and the housekeeping needs supervising more closely. The staff are lovely and very willing in all they do, there is a good range of entertainment. Nothing is too much trouble, if someone needs a drink,
blanket, anything, it is dealt with swiftly. A nice atmosphere is created by the staff.
Dad always looks clean and tidy and is very happy.

I visit the home every day and have been able to observe the activity of staff and residents. The atmosphere is very friendly and caring and the residents appear to be calm and at ease. It has a "family" feel to it. I have already recommended the home to friends looking for a place for a parent.

The chef served up a fabulous 3 course Sunday lunch for Father's day to which my partner was able to join me. We were treated as well as in any 5-star restaurant. It was a very special occasion and we are now looking forward to the candlelight dinner in July and family barbecue and garden party in August

I had great difficulty finding a suitable home for my partner on leaving the neuro-disability hospital, but I fell in love with Coppice Lea as soon as I set foot inside the front door, as did my partner when he visited it. On reading that the founders of Caring Homes Group opened their first care home
in my hometown, in the street where I wet to school, I felt it was a good omen. And so it has proved to be because my partner is very happy and has settled very quickly into his new surroundings.

My friend came to Coppice Lea for end of life care. The staff were very professional and friendly. My friend was made very comfortable for her last week of her life. I would highly recommend Coppice Lea to everyone for the elderly and end of life care, my friend was only 51 years old.

I was visiting recently and staff were moving residents to their rooms. I was really impressed with a healthcare assistant. The resident had dementia, but before the assistant moved him, he got to his level and spoke to him and told him exactly what he was going to do. He was speaking to him all the
time he was putting him on the hoist.

My mother has been at Coppice Lea for nearly 4 years and although she has deteriorated with dementia, she has always been cared for and loved every day.


January has been a difficult month but through it all the staff and management have been exceptional for both my mother and me.

I cannot praise the management and the staff enough for their professionalism, friendliness, approachability, dedication and hard work. I know my mum is in good hands!


I feel there is one specific improvement needed regarding the living areas which would greatly enhance the already excellent work

done by the staff ie. Removal of carpet throughout the home, particularly in the resident's rooms.

Although I have put "Good" for most of the options below there have been times when some have dropped below that but equally sometimes things have been excellent. Individual members of staff in particular have been outstanding and to see so many at Dad's funeral and that they were genuinely upset at
his passing, not just representing the Home, was very touching. He had very much become part of the community.

Maria is our home manager at Coppice Lea. Here’s an insight into her role at the home in her own words:


“As a registered nurse with 10 years of experience in the care industry, my responsibilities include overseeing clinical care delivery, ensuring compliance with healthcare standards, and supporting both our residents and team in achieving the highest quality of care.


What brings me joy is the ability to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives, no matter how small. Seeing residents achieve their goals, whether it’s regaining independence or simply finding moments of happiness, is incredibly rewarding. Knowing that our team plays a part in their journey is priceless and fuels my passion for this work every day.


To me, ‘Care from the Heart’ means providing care that goes beyond the technical aspects of the role. It’s about empathy, compassion, and truly understanding the needs of each individual. It’s treating residents as if they were family, ensuring their dignity, comfort, and happiness are always at the forefront of everything we do.


I believe my impact lies in fostering a culture of compassion and teamwork. By leading by example and supporting my colleagues, I aim to elevate the standard of care we provide.
