Overall Experience

It's great to know mum is being looked after to a high standard at Cedrus and has been made to feel at home in not on only in her room and ward, but amongst the wider care home areas too. The staff are amazing are make sure she is having the best time, whether that's in the safety of home itself, or on any of the regular trips out she partakes in. It really is a weight off our shoulders know she is being look after to such a high standard and has been welcomed into the home like an important family member. The staff are not only professional in terms of work, but also warm, inviting and friendly to mum's family when we all visit too. A blessing for mum to be able to have this experience in her later years whilst suffering with dementia. Big thanks to the whole Cedrus Team x

Whenever I have visited Cedars House the staff have always been very helpful, cheery, and genuinely caring. During my regular visits, I always found the care-home to be welcoming, thoroughly clean and tidy.

The rooms are well furnished, spacious and comfortable.

Throughout the Staff are helpful, efficient, well-dressed and, importantly, attentive and friendly with the residents addressing them by name.

Thank you for supporting my old friend.

My mum moved into Cedrus House at the start of the year, and it has been a joy to watch how she has changed over the last five months. She has fully engaged in all the activities on offer and really enjoys the frequent trips out. The feel of the place, from the moment you walk in, is one of a home from home, and the staff have all been brilliant with mum. We couldn't have asked for a better outcome.

I am a carer for my neighbour as he has not family, so visit regular once a week, he has a few issues health wise, but when asked the staff, tries to sort out the problem promptly. I'm able to speak with them straight away which is very welcome, He is generally very settled and joins in with the activities on offer weekly.

Mum has been living at Cedrus House for almost a year and a half, it is a bright a cheerful building, mum's room is spacious and comfortable. The feeling is very friendly and respectful and it has a real sense of family.
With lots of fun activities and trips out, it has transformed mum's quality of life. When we need to speak with them, we feel they know her as well as we do, and are already aware, and dealing with, any concerns.

As a family, it's reassuring to know she is safe and well cared for.

My mum spent 3 years in Cedrus House until she passed in November 2025 then my dad resided there for 7 weeks in May/June 2026. My dad requested to go there after receiving a terminal diagnosis. He knew all the staff from visiting my mum and was so comfortable there. The staff bent over backwards to fit him in and we are so grateful.
I couldn't begin to explain how grateful we were for him to be there. It made his passing less painful to know he was where he wanted to be.

Both my parents received excellent care and all staff were so compassionate. I really couldn't rate the home highly enough.

When I visit, my Aunt always looks freshly washed and her hair is neat . Her room is spotless and odour free as is the rest of the home . If her carers see me visiting they will come in and enjoy a laugh with us. It is obvious that they get on well with her. She enjoys the food and says that the Chef is wonderful and his Fish & Chips are the best she has ever had. I would not hesitate to recommend Cedrus House to anyone looking for a place for their loved one.

Cedrus House makes residents as well as relatives so welcome. It has a relaxing atmosphere which my mother with dementia really appreciates. All staff are friendly and warm, with a professional approach. Always helpful and have got to know my mother and what she enjoys in life. Overall Experience
Mum was diagnosed in hospital with cancer and given 3 months. She couldn't go home. We looked at Cedrus House and straight away as soon as we walked through the door felt an "at home" feeling. Mums room was large and airy and modern. We moved some of her things in with her to make her feel even more at home.

I have to really give the biggest shout out to the carers and nurses. I honesty felt that mum wouldn't be cared for like we would want her to be. Mainly to be loved. But, honestly, I couldn't have been more wrong. All the carers really loved and cared for my mum like their own family and this gave us soooo much comfort when we couldn't go every single day. Absolutely nothing was too much trouble for them. Her care was truly wonderful. We were welcomed to Cedrus House at any time day or night. They would cook a meal for us if we stayed. This care home should have an OUTSTANDING certificate, because that's exactly what mum had. We cannot thank you enough.

Father in law originally came for respite care, he was very apprehensive at coming into a care facility but this was soon dispelled after given a lovely welcome from the staff from the viewing to moving in day! Staff have been very friendly and respectful, the rooms are very clean and environment safe, so much so he wants to stay! Cannot find any faults and any concerns/questions are dealt with quickly! Thank you Cedrus House team.

My father-in-law stayed here for a few weeks and during his stay, the care he received was exceptional. All his jeeds were met both physically and emotionally. All staff were friendly, approachable and helpful to our needs as a family. The care home truly went above and beyond to help us, during what had been a difficult time. My dad has been a resident at this nursing home for nearly two years now, and I couldn't be more grateful for the care he receives. The entire staff - from the nurses to the kitchen and housekeeping teams - treat him with genuine kindness and respect. They take the time to get to know him personally, which makes such a difference.

The home is always clean, welcoming, and well organised. The nurses are attentive and communicate regularly with our family about any changes or updates in his care. It gives us so much peace of mind knowing he's in good hands.

Thank you to everyone at Cedrus House!

I went as a volunteer helper on the Felixstowe day out. The residents were all ready 9.30am & had breakfast - an amazing start by the staff. Patience needed to get 20 residents on the wheelchair lift to get in the coach. Noting was too much trouble for the staff, took their time, chatted & smiled with residents. Fish & chips, ice cream, cups of tea and then a singer to round up the day at the sea. Perfect weather for a wonderful day. Thank you.

Claire MartinJob Title Home Manager

I’ve worked for Care UK for nearly a decade now. Before joining the organisation, I was a laboratory technician and a registered childminder. When I was looking for a new challenge, I heard great things about Care UK and how its people were supported to develop. That’s certainly been my experience. I started as a carer and have worked my way up.

I previously worked as Home Manager at Hartismere Place, where I saw the home grow and flourish. I’m now excited to have joined Cedrus and to bring that experience with me, building on strong foundations and continuing to enhance what we do and what we offer to residents.

I love walking around the home and having lovely interactions with the residents. They make my day, as do the great colleagues I work alongside. There’s always a lot of laughter at Cedrus House, which creates a great atmosphere.

Outside of work, I’m a keen biker; my husband and I ride all over East Anglia. I also enjoy gardening, spending time with my family, and socialising with friends.
