Mum moved into Cedrus House in July 2021 and she settled well. She is very well cared for and safe 24/7. The staff are extremely caring and experienced, they update me about everything, including some of her more comical and naughty moments. Her care needs change, as her journey progresses and I am fully included. She often tells me that she really enjoys living in this hotel, as meals are lovely, laundry is done and she doesn't have to do any cleaning (that's a big plus!) A complete 'Lady of Leisure' enjoying life to the full with everything on the doorstep, cinema, hairdresser, cafe and garden, with a mixture of activities including crafting, music, singing, regular sport, exercise and of course wonderful outings. Extended family have visited Mum in the home and are so impressed with the facilities and level of care, that they are now looking at Care UK homes in their area for loved ones. It's a big thank you to all staff who care for Mum as it gives me peace of mind too.

Dad was happy and relaxed from the moment he moved in. He remarked that it was like being on holiday in a posh hotel.
The staff were very attentive and always there to help answer the many questions we asked. Everyone helped us all to adjust to Dad being there with the support and care required.
Mealtimes were always entertaining and members of the family were always welcome to stay.
Everyone working there knew us and always had time to talk, the coffee shop was a nice place to go for a change of scenery.

The security on the suite was secure and we felt Dad was safe, we had no worries when we left him.

The support and care my father received were outstanding. The moment we initially visited Cedrus House Care Home we felt welcomed and supported in making the difficult decision. My father quickly settled in and it became his home. He was very happy and was given the best care and love, it was the best decision we made.

My greeting on arrival was unparalleled and has continued. Everyone is so kind and helpful. Yesterday I went on a trip in a minibus with two other ladies where we laid flowers from the late Queen Elizabeth. A great trip and so much fresh air.

The washing (laundry) facilities are amazing as is the food.

Good to see Mum happy and content.
She has been in the home for four years and it's good to see original staff still here.

Mum enjoys small/short trips out and is glad these are now possible.

Great, professional service from the team at Cedrus House Care Home. A warm welcome was received by my 94-year young father, and he enjoyed his two-week respite stay. He was well looked after, and it was a relief to us all when he came out smiling saying he had enjoyed his ‘holiday’.

My sister has been a resident in Cedrus House for almost three months. The initial assessment and preparations prior to her taking up residency were made very easy as a result of the excellent information given in a Zoom chat plus the office staff providing answers to our queries. My sister has gained weight due to the excellent food on offer and has very quickly settled into life as a resident. Prior to entry my sister suffered several falls at home and was unable to recover herself. If she gets into problems now we are much happier with the knowledge that help is on hand 24/7. When my sister took ownership of a new mobile phone staff from the office and some of the carers assisted my sister in becoming familiar with its operation as this was all new to her. The Cedrus House staff go the extra mile to ensure all of my sister's needs are catered to.

Earlier in the year, my auntie was diagnosed with motor neurone disease and as she was living alone our family became concerned when she started to have falls at home as her MND became worse. So the task of finding a care home began and we started the search for a suitable care home, something which I had never had to do before and was all very new to me. I have to say from the very first contact with Cedrus House I have been very impressed with the professional way they have provided us with the information required, put together a Zoom guided tour package and answered numerous questions and emails to help us make the decision to move my auntie into their care, as they were way ahead of any other care homes I had engaged with. The staff on the Finborough Suite have been fantastic in the way they have looked after my auntie and sorted out all her health and care needs so swiftly. I would thoroughly recommend Cedrus House, a big thank you to all the staff for all their hard work.

My dad has been a resident at Cedrus House for six weeks and we, his family, are extremely happy with the care he is receiving. When we applied to the home to ask if they had a vacancy, the admin staff were very supportive during what was a stressful time for us all. The carers who look after Dad are kind and caring and they always have a smile.

My mother has been a resident at Cedrus House for over four years and has been well cared for during that time so much so that she has improved in her mood and overall health. During the pandemic, the home has done all it can to maintain contact between families and residents and I have been able to visit when lockdown restrictions allow. I am looking forward to my first indoor visit with my mum tomorrow to be able to hold her hand and take her favourite sweet treat to enjoy. The staff have done an amazing job of keeping all residents safe during this time and I would recommend the home as a place of safety for anyone considering the need for care for a member of your family.

My father has been a resident at Cedrus House for nearly 12-months; he was admitted as Covid-19 was rife. The staff have managed magnificently during all the turmoil, lockdowns, staff shortages etc, and I have never doubted their care for my father in keeping him safe. The amenities at Cedrus are excellent, I looked at several care houses, and this one stood out from the minute I walked through the door. It is clean and bright, warm and all the staff are welcoming. Over the past 12-months, nothing has been too much of a bother for them. I am looking forward to the day that Dad can make the most of what Cedrus has to offerr as we put this pandemic behind us.

My mother has been living here for five and a half years and is very happy and content.

I am very pleased with the care and attention that she gets. Cedrus House feels like home to Mum and to us whenever we visit. It is extremely clean and very comfortable. The standard of care is wonderful and everyone is very friendly. The quality of the food is excellent with a great choice on the menu. The standard of activities offered cannot be faulted.

Our mother was always determined that she would never go into a care home, but 3 weeks of respite care after hospitalisation changed her mind completely. She has now been at Cedrus House for virtually twelve months and is very happy there.

Every contact I have had with the home has been very helpful and friendly, nothing seems to be too much for them. My dad has often said he can’t fault the home in any way. He has told me that everyone is so kind to him and he has a laugh with them, special thanks to dad's personal carer who is great with my dad and helps him to maintain his dignity when dealing with personal matters, he especially enjoys the long baths he has. The company of others of his age has been a real benefit for my dad as he enjoys chatting with them and sometimes spends long lunches doing just that. He has also told me that if we had searched everywhere we could not have found a better place for him, so thank you, everyone, for making my dad’s twilight years happy, comfortable and worry-free.

We are absolutely delighted with the care received by Mum since she moved into the home in March. The staff are kind and caring and have time for even the smallest detail. Mum feels welcome, supported and safe. Her care is personal and meets her individual needs. Mum loves her room and all the facilities. Her birthday was recognised and celebrated in a personal way. Communication with the family has been excellent and again support given, usually daily, to Mum to ensure that she can be in close contact with us. Whether this is using her mobile phone or standing to wave at the window. The attention to detail, and the following of protocols during the pandemic, has been excellent, which reassured Mum and comforted all of the family. Staff at all levels are supportive and thoughtful. They know not only Mum by name but also even us when we phone or drop off something. Cedrus Home is all that we hoped it would be for Mum.

Meet the Team (1)

Claire Martin
Claire MartinJob Title:Home Manager

I’ve worked for Care UK for nearly a decade now. Before joining the organisation, I was a laboratory technician and a registered childminder. When I was looking for a new challenge, I heard great things about Care UK and how its people were supported to develop. That’s certainly been my experience. I started as a carer and have worked my way up.

I previously worked as Home Manager at Hartismere Place, where I saw the home grow and flourish. I’m now excited to have joined Cedrus and to bring that experience with me, building on strong foundations and continuing to enhance what we do and what we offer to residents.

I love walking around the home and having lovely interactions with the residents. They make my day, as do the great colleagues I work alongside. There’s always a lot of laughter at Cedrus House, which creates a great atmosphere.

Outside of work, I’m a keen biker; my husband and I ride all over East Anglia. I also enjoy gardening, spending time with my family, and socialising with friends.
