Cedrus House in Stowmarket is a purpose-built care home that provides permanent and respite residential, nursing and specialist dementia care for older people. The dedicated team also offers compassionate end of life care.

The stunning Suffolk home has its own café, with patio doors that open out onto the secure, landscaped gardens. There’s also a hair and beauty salon, an activities room and a cinema room, so residents can enjoy a great lifestyle. Each bedroom has en-suite facilities and is tastefully decorated and furnished.

Please note, the weekly fee does not include hairdressing, chiropody or other healthcare visits or

other privately arranged healthcare. Should you require an escort to hospital appointments, we may apply
an agreed hourly charge for this service.

I attended the Valentine's meal and music afternoon. I have to say the carers are outstanding, the care home is the best around I've always thought it was nice when I visit weekly but today blew my mind on how much the staff make the residents happy and content, keep up the work.

My aunt arrived at Cedrus House in March this year after suffering a nasty fall and being unable to return home. We were made so welcome by the staff on the day she arrived, which made such a huge difference. This same caring approach, now she is a resident, has continued and helped her settle in well.
Everyone on the staff is friendly, helpful and kind and nothing is too much trouble. It is peace of mind for me, other family members, and friends to know that she is safe and being so well cared for.

When Mum moved into Cedrus House in October 2023 we were understandably apprehensive, but there was absolutely no need to feel that way at all. Such a welcoming, cosy home from home. Everyone is so friendly and accommodating and nothing is too much trouble. It really has been like extending our family
- staff and residents alike.
Mum has mixed dementia and unable to walk but is treated with dignity and respect. There are daily activities if she wants to participate, she’s encouraged but never forced and on those occasions she doesn’t want to go or just be in her room we know that the staff regularly check and visit her for a chat or a sing-song as they know mum loves to sing! She has a beautiful big en-suite room which we could decorate how we wanted - with furniture, pictures, bed linen etc from mum’s own home.
We know Mum is totally safe and cared for 24/7 - we couldn’t wish for anything more!

My Mother has resided at Cedrus House for approximately three years. During this period she has always been treated with kindness and respect. The building is seven years old and conforms to the latest standards required for its purpose. Each room has an en-suite 'wet room' which allows easy access
for wheelchairs and walking aids. A cafe, cinema room and a bar are all available within the main building. The external balcony forming part of the lounge which is accessible to my Mother has wide-ranging views over the surrounding countryside. The catering is of a high standard and three main meals are provided each day. A minibus is available on a regular basis which enables residents to be taken to a variety of local locations. The regular entertainment provided is excellent with an abundance of musical items. The music is particularly useful as it enables my mother, who has advanced Dementia, to recall songs and tunes that she is familiar with.

My husband was very apprehensive about going into respite care while I had a small operation, but we looked around and knew we chose the best for him!
It was more a five star hotel than a typical care home! He had a large en-suite room that was easily accessible for his wheelchair. The corridors were
wide and had bright pictures on the walls.
There was 24/7 food if he wanted it! Three good meals a day and a cafe with 'help yourself' drinks, cakes, ice cream and sweets! Perfect for my sweet-toothed husband! There was even a pub! There were activities each day, a cinema (he took a couple of DVDs that he was allowed to screen) and a craft room.
The staff were the most caring, cheerful, 'above and beyond' people I have met! You can sense that they love their job and gel together well as a team. My husband's fears were definitely allayed and he had a very enjoyable two weeks holiday, putting my mind at rest knowing he was being cared for.

Choosing a care home for a much loved relative is a huge responsibility and the fear that you will get it wrong can be overwhelming. However much research you do, or personal recommendations you hear, it is only once they are in the home you find out whether you have made the right choice. Cedrus House
is not perfect, but it is outstanding! All the staff try so hard to get it right and the management team try to solve problems as quickly as they can, meanwhile trying to implement (sometimes quite creative) solutions in the short term. Some of the small things we regularly experienced make this such a lovely home. Cleaners who don’t disturb residents who are asleep or have visitors, but happily return later unasked. Carers who work so hard and always respect the dignity of residents, by closing the net curtains and shutting the door before carrying out personal care. A wonderful nursing team who react quickly to changes in health. And finally, the cafe, such wonderful scones and cakes!

Cedrus House is a beautifully maintained modern building with fantastic facilities including a coffee shop, outside spaces, a cinema, a craft room and even a “bar area” for the occasional pub quiz but what really makes Cedrus House stand out are the staff.
All the staff members have a friendly disposition
and are caring and nothing seems too much trouble for them, even when they are busy and at difficult times they continue to shine and having a full-time medical team on site is very reassuring for relatives and residents.
There are numerous activities including keep-fit classes, visiting musicians, days out to various local places of interest including fish and chips at the seaside. I know my father is well looked after, cared for and safe; he sees more friendly faces and has more social interactions than when he lived on his own.
No care home is perfect, but Cedrus House has got to be one of the best available, and the staff are fantastic.

Mum moved into Cedrus House in July 2021 and she settled well. She is very well cared for and safe 24/7. The staff are extremely caring and experienced, they update me about everything, including some of her more comical and naughty moments. Her care needs change, as her journey progresses and I am
fully included. She often tells me that she really enjoys living in this hotel, as meals are lovely, laundry is done and she doesn't have to do any cleaning (that's a big plus!) A complete 'Lady of Leisure' enjoying life to the full with everything on the doorstep, cinema, hairdresser, cafe and garden, with a mixture of activities including crafting, music, singing, regular sport, exercise and of course wonderful outings. Extended family have visited Mum in the home and are so impressed with the facilities and level of care, that they are now looking at Care UK homes in their area for loved ones. It's a big thank you to all staff who care for Mum as it gives me peace of mind too.

Dad was happy and relaxed from the moment he moved in. He remarked that it was like being on holiday in a posh hotel.
The staff were very attentive and always there to help answer the many questions we asked. Everyone helped us all to adjust to Dad being there with the support and care required.
Mealtimes
were always entertaining and members of the family were always welcome to stay.
Everyone working there knew us and always had time to talk, the coffee shop was a nice place to go for a change of scenery.
The security on the suite was secure and we felt Dad was safe, we had no worries when we left him.

My greeting on arrival was unparalleled and has continued. Everyone is so kind and helpful. Yesterday I went on a trip in a minibus with two other ladies where we laid flowers from the late Queen Elizabeth. A great trip and so much fresh air.
The washing (laundry) facilities are amazing as is the food.

Great, professional service from the team at Cedrus House Care Home. A warm welcome was received by my 94-year young father, and he enjoyed his two-week respite stay. He was well looked after, and it was a relief to us all when he came out smiling saying he had enjoyed his ‘holiday’.

My sister has been a resident in Cedrus House for almost three months. The initial assessment and preparations prior to her taking up residency were made very easy as a result of the excellent information given in a Zoom chat plus the office staff providing answers to our queries. My sister has gained
weight due to the excellent food on offer and has very quickly settled into life as a resident. Prior to entry my sister suffered several falls at home and was unable to recover herself. If she gets into problems now we are much happier with the knowledge that help is on hand 24/7. When my sister took ownership of a new mobile phone staff from the office and some of the carers assisted my sister in becoming familiar with its operation as this was all new to her. The Cedrus House staff go the extra mile to ensure all of my sister's needs are catered to.

Job Title: Home Manager

I decided to join Care UK as a Registered Nurse in 2014 because it is a growing care provider that upholds its vision and values by keeping residents at the heart of its care.


A good home manager must be a great communicator, an active listener and an amazing supporter. It’s essential to be empathetic and kind in nature to lead a team well. I feel proud when I see the team and residents engaging as one big work family.


Being there to support colleagues, residents and relatives is the most important part of my role. I’m proud to have had several promotions within Care UK. My biggest career highlight to date was my internal promotion to Home Manager.


Outside of work, I have twin toddlers and enjoy walks with them, often taking them to the beach.
