View Full Details of Cedrus HouseMy dad has been a resident at this nursing home for nearly two years now, and I couldn't be more grateful for the care he receives. The entire staff - from the nurses to the kitchen and housekeeping teams - treat him with genuine kindness and respect. They take the time to get to know him personally, which makes such a difference. The home is always clean, welcoming, and well organised. The nurses are attentive and communicate regularly with our family about any changes or updates in his care. It gives us so much peace of mind knowing he's in good hands. Thank you to everyone at Cedrus House!
Mum seems happy & well looked after. The staff are friendly & I get contacted if there are any issues with Mum ie sores/illness. It's nice to have the cafe as I will go and have a drink if staff are seeing to mum. The activities & trips are good as helps to stimulate the mind and also the food looks really good. Overall a nice care home.
Mum had a lovely experience she was well cared for and had lovely carers. Could not ask for more. She wasn't there long only 3 months but she settled in well and the food was good. If we asked if they could wash her hair next day it was done
I went as a volunteer helper on the Felixstowe day out. The residents were all ready 9.30am & had breakfast - an amazing start by the staff. Patience needed to get 20 residents on the wheelchair lift to get in the coach. Noting was too much trouble for the staff, took their time, chatted & smiled with residents. Fish & chips, ice cream, cups of tea and then a singer to round up the day at the sea. Perfect weather for a wonderful day. Thank you.
I would like to thank all of the Cedrus House staff involved in making Mum's 100th birthday celebrations such a tremendous success last Friday. The decorations, food and drink made it very special. Despite Mum not being able to see the residents who visited her, she certainly sensed their presence and said how grateful she was. It was also fantastic to see three centenarians in the same room sitting next to each other - a moment to treasure. Please send our family's special thanks to the catering team who made a such a splendid birthday cake for Mum. The family all said how lovely it was that so many people were engaged in the celebrations making it truly a day to remember. Thank you all once again for the celebrations and also for keeping my vulnerable Mum safe, happy and content
My nan has been living at Cedrus Care Home now for nearly 6 months, and it's been one of the best decisions for her health & happiness. The staff have made her feel truly welcome, and they're genuinely kind people. When her beloved dog died, they went above and beyond to comfort her. Overall, her quality of life has improved so much since moving in. She's more connected & content than she has been in years. We feel really lucky to have found such a warm, compassionate place for her to call home. Thank you!
Nice clean care home. Excellent staff very helpful and take very good care of my wife who is bed bound with parkinsons.
The care is superb. The staff are all wonderful. I really love the food and it is good to have pills sorted taking away the worry of remembering. Activities are good and varied.
What a really lovely home. Mum is thrilled to be at Cedrus House - she calls it her 5 star hotel. She is eating very well from an inspiring menu. She is encouraged to remain fit by engaging in gentle exercise and crafts. The personal care is respectful and completed with dignity. The cleanliness is faultless.
Mum moved into Cedrus House when it became too difficult to look after her at home because of the progression of her dementia - she lived there for the last two and a half years of her life. Caring for someone with dementia is challenging but I always felt the Cedrus team handled these challenges with sensitivity, respect and professionalism making a difficult situation as good as it could be - as such we never had doubts that Cedrus was the best place for Mum. So many thanks to all the team there.
I visit Cedrus House regularly (usually twice a week). All the staff are lovely, friendly and helpful - I am always made to feel welcome and part of the Cedrus family. Two staff members in particular on reception are welcoming and always have time for a chat. Another staff member is one of the most enthusiastic and engaging people I have ever met, speaking to new and potential residents and their families in a professional yet friendly manner. Another staff member always makes me laugh, nothing is ever too much trouble. Two staff members in particular run an amazing events programme and their enthusiasm is infectious. Chef and the catering team keep the residents well fed and the cakes in the coffee shop are legendary. And the place is always very clean and tidy. I love my visits and I am so pleased that the resident I visit is so happy and contented at Cedrus.
My mum was so content at Cedrus House. Staff were kind, knowledgeable, and professional. I couldn't have asked for anywhere better.
My mother-in-law was a resident of Cedrus House for over 6 years. In that time she received outstanding levels of care from all staff. Her safety and dignity were always paramount. Impressive staff retention levels, meant that many staff knew for the full six years, so knew her needs probably better than us. I was highly recommend Cedrus House for anyone needing personal care, nursing care, palliative care or dementia care, as Cedrus delivers the best.
My mum had spent 2 weeks in hospital and had come back to Cedrus which we were pleased about. I think when you have agencies on that have not been in before there should be something in place that they can check the needs of the residents. My mum has to be watched when taking her medicines because she hides them. When I came in one of the tablets was on her table, wardrobe open, curtains still drawn, no drink on the table and the bed was in a heap. On the whole I am very pleased with mums care but it always comes back to the same issue.
On my first visit to Cedrus house, I was overwhelmed by the space and openness of the home, the friendly family warm feeling you get when you enter the place. The care and understanding that my father receives is second to none. Nothing is too much trouble for the wonderful care team, that being from the senior leads downwards. Every member of staff gives and does their best for the residences. The choices on the daily menus, down to the day trips, fund raising fetes and individual outings, I don't think I could have found a more caring a home for my dad. I do feel that perhaps more staff is needed during the evening and sometimes the home has to use agency staff, who perhaps do not know the individual residents well enough, but over all Cedrus House is a lovely home.
My mum needed respite care while her usual carers were on holiday. I was apprehensive about mum staying at a care home for the first time, but need not have been. The staff at Cedrus House were wonderful, so cheerful, friendly and kind. Mum settled in immediately, and enjoyed joining in with the activities each morning and afternoon. Mum said there was a good selection of food which was excellent, including some delicious cakes in the cafe. Lots of friends visited mum at Cedrus House during her 2 week stay, and were very complimentary about it.
From our initial visit to Cedrus House we knew this was the care home we wanted our mum to live in. The staff are friendly and welcoming whenever we visit. Mum receives first class care, all of needs are attended to, from the wonderful carers, through to the kitchen staff providing lovely food and the cleaners keeping everywhere clean and tidy. For us personally, when we can't be with our mum it is comforting to know she is being cared for so well and she is safe.
My mother moved into Cedrus House following 9 Weeks in hospital. Mum was previously living in a supported living flat. She clearly needed more care but refused to live in a residential home. Following her hospital stay she was deemed by a mental capacity assessment to be needing 24 hour care and support. Cedrus House have provided excellent around the clock care. Mum has dementia but her physical health has improved hugely. She is eating a healthy diet and is now enjoying her food again. The carers are wonderful, lots of activities to entertain and enjoy and the home is spotlessly clean. Regular phone calls and emails of health/occurrences and updates. Highly recommend and I can not thank Cedrus House enough for their care and input into my mother's life.
Mum has been living at Cedrus House since July 2023, when her dementia was making it difficult for her to continue living on her own. She is very well cared for by the friendly staff who are very responsive to my requests and any concerns I have regarding her health and well being. All areas of the building are bright, clean and spacious, with some redecoration taking place over the summer. The quality of the food is excellent and there is a lot of choice as well as some inventive, fun ways to offer healthy alternatives. The activities offered are very varied and lots of fun. The team go out of their way to encourage mum to join in with singing, crafts and baking to name a few favorites, as well as participating in well organized trips out and about in the area. Knowing that mum is happy and in a caring and safe environment literally allows me to sleep a bit better at night. Thank you Cedrus House Team!
It was a tough call to place mum in a care home, but I'm so glad we chose Cedrus House. The initial introduction and admittance was so stress-free and the staff were all so reassuring to mum and us alike. Six months on, and I am delighted with how mum has settled in and enjoying the activities, the food and the care received. Whenever I have a concern, issue or request, the team there are super-responsive and it's very much appreciated.
