My mum is very happy and contented at Ladden View. The staff are very happy and help Mum with her daily routines, she enjoys the activities and loves bingo and cooking - the food is fantastic, although Mum would love a kipper (her favourite).

We had Christmas Dinner at Ladden with Mum and my mum-in-law (who is also a resident there) and it was a brilliant meal and we were looked after well.

I recently used the respite care services at Ladden View for my mum, who has dementia, & I couldn't have had a better experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff made her feel comfortable, respected, & genuinely cared for. The carers were attentive, patient, & kind - they took the time to get to know her, which made a massive difference.
The home is beautiful - more like a high-quality hotel than a nursing home. My mum is coeliac, & her meals were fantastic. The activities kept her happy & engaged, & communication was excellent - I received updates & always felt she was in safe, caring hands.
Respite care is an emotional decision, but Ladden View, especially Dan & Sarah, gave me complete peace of mind.

All the staff are genuinely kind, caring, & happy, offering wonderful support not only to residents but also to their families. I would highly recommend Ladden View to anyone looking for compassionate, professional care for their loved one.

I cannot speak highly enough of all staff (managerial, carers, domestic, catering + the handy man). All of my worries about putting mum not residential care were unfounded! She has been at L.V 4 months and she is very happy + consent. So am I. I have no worries at all. Expensive yes but worth every penny!

The whole experience of getting mum to Ladden View has been extremely positive. The staff were very accomodating of mums emotional, physical and medical needs. They've also been very supportive of the wider family, knowing how exhausting the time before a loved one moves in can be.
Mum is now eating better than she did at her home, stays better hydrated, is more mentally stimulated and takes her meds on time. She has only been at Ladden View a month and is already more well than any time I've seen at any time in the last year.

The whole staff team have worked tirelessly to make her feel welcome, included and cared for. I'm very grateful that mum is somewhere as excellent as this.

Having initial reservations about my first respite stay, from day 1, any doubts completely disappeared. The kindness and attention from every member of the team was first class. Nothing was too much trouble when you needed help, from help with a shower to a friendly face and a cup of hot chocolate at night.
The chef provided 5 star meals, snacks and freshly baked cakes, all were nutritious and delicious. Visitors were welcomed at any time and could enjoy the facilities and cakes in the cafe.
There were plenty of communal rooms, with a range of activities available throughout the week.
My room was so comfortable, beautifully furnished and I enjoyed sitting outside on my private patio. The ensuite wet room, with its shower was so helpful for someone recovering with a fractured arm.

I left after 2 weeks feeling the best I have done for a long time and am looking forward to my next stay.

We had a wonderful afternoon at Laden view care home celebrating the 80th VE day celebrations. We all enjoyed the cakes tea and coffee and something a little stronger. The weather was a little cool for the day but that didn't detract from the residence enjoying their selves. The jazz band in the garden was really good. The residence really enjoyed the World War II army trucks.

Sadly my father in laws stay at Ladden View was brief as he passed away whilst resident. He had been in respite care at another local home prior to moving to Ladden View and the experience we had during respite was far from a happy one. From my initial contact with management, he was admitted within 2 days and it felt like a real rescue. Walking into Ladden on that first day was like walking into a 5 star hotel, the staff immediately took over, helping Dad to settle in and making him welcome. Quite honestly I breathed a sigh of relief to see him smile again after his prior experience.
Unfortunately Dads health deteriorated rapidly and within a couple of weeks he was confined to his bed as the Cancer took its hold, but never once did the staff let their standards drop, their attentiveness was 100% and they most definitely made his last days as comfortable as they could possibly be under the circumstances.

The Care Home is amazing, I really can't praise it enough.

After a year of trying to support my Dad living at home he reluctantly agreed to move into Ladden View. He really wasn't keen but he loves it and is happier and healthier than he has been for a year. He is so well looked after, loves the food, has returned to a healthy weight and is enjoying the company of the other residents. His room is so comfortable and sunny with great ensuite facilities. The staff are so kind and helpful and he is encouraged to eat in the dining room and enjoy the varied activities. He's always loved gardening and he is able to continue this hobby - he has even been allocated a cold frame to plant up and will be able to use the raised beds to plant his seedlings. Life is so much better for him than at home.

My cousin fell in love with Ladden View the moment she came to visit. She has settled in quickly & is very happy here. She loved the staff, the food & the general ambience & hopes she will spend the rest of her days here. From living alone & not mixing much she now has plenty of company/social contact & enjoys joining in the craft sessions. It's given her a new lease of life. Thank you.

My 98-year-old mother had been in hospital for three weeks with a bacterial chest infection and breathing difficulties. Upon discharge, it was decided to find her some respite care before she returned home. We were guided to Ladden View Care. I visited with my husband where we were introduced to the staff and shown around the facilities which are first-class. We were able to choose a garden view room and following this initial visit, Mum was settled in within a few days. The staff are approachable, friendly, welcoming and professional and are quick to reassure me with any concerns. This is an excellent care home and I would not hesitate in recommending Ladden View.

I am very well looked after here. I could not do all these things at home. They have got everything here, I don't want for anything. Food is good, lots of choices. Always clean including the bedding. You only have to ask as the staff are very good. They shower me every morning and wash my hair. They do everything for you here, I have been out in my wheelchair for short trips around the home. Overall it is good service here.

Sarah Daly
Sarah DalyJob Title:Home ManagerJoined: 2024

I’m a qualified Mental Health Nurse, and I was keen to join Care UK after reading about their core values of caring, passion and teamwork, which align with my own values. I’m passionate about delivering excellent care, and I love working as part of our committed and skilled team. We put residents and their families first and foremost in everything we do.

As a Home Manager, I believe it’s important to have effective communication skills: both written and verbal communication play a vital role. I interact with colleagues, residents, families and other stakeholders, so strong leadership skills, an ability to remain calm under pressure, clinical expertise and good decision-making skills are also key.

My favourite part of each day is getting to spend time with the residents, chatting and having a laugh. I also enjoy working with my colleagues as a team towards a goal. It’s a great feeling when we achieve it.

Every day in a care home is different and brings new challenges. It’s wonderful to see the service transform, the staff develop into a cohesive team and residents be happy and content with the service you provide.

When I’m not working, I love spending time with my family and exploring the countryside, especially visiting National Trust sites.
