They appear to serve a good selection of meals and have helped my relative to gain some much needed weight so definitely serve good portions too.

My uncle, for whom I am legally responsible, has now been at Hartismere over 3 years and the care and support of all the staff there has been quite exceptional throughout. This includes everyone from the manager to the carers, kitchen staff and cleaners, with a high degree of direct personal interest in his wellbeing. He's not just a resident, he is treated as a friend and almost family.

Some years ago I needed to arrange for my father to go into residential care and that too was 'a very nice place', but the level of interest in his wellbeing and communication with me was quite different. It wasn't bad, but nor was it exceptional as it is with the Hartismere staff. In short, I am delighted with selecting Hartismere and could not have wished for better care and genuine interest in him during his final years. It is quite a special place with staff almost being friends to me, let alone my uncle. Unconditionally recommended

We have been delighted with the standard of care provided to my mum over the last year. She moved in early November 2025 and was immediately helped to feel comfortable. The level of personalisation of care has been very impressive. My mum sometimes has periods when she refuses meals or refuses to sit in the dining room. When this happens she is given grazing plates of fresh fruit and tasty things to tempt her, Staff have also been lovely to my Dad when he visits - recognising that this has also been a difficult time of adjustment for him.

ALL the staff are very good and helpfull as I have only been here a month.

My mother always enjoys her stays, especially the interactions with her peers. On leaving, her description of the home is: "It's quite posh here. It's rather nice." When asked about her stay, she definitely says it's very comfortable.

All the staff in Reception, the Office, Kitchen, Hairdressing and Housekeeping are welcoming, supportive and caring and always amazingly cheerful!

My mother needed some short term respite care following a fall. From initial contact, to the time she left, the service we received was excellent. We were both made to feel very welcome and the care during her stay was exceptional. She said everybody was so lovely.

A better home and a better team do not exist in my opinion, than those at Hartismere.

I have experience of nursing homes as a relative with elderly parents & as a nurse tutor visiting care homes with students on placement. Your home beats them all. Keep up the good and vital work.

I needed some respite care after an operation, and a friend recommended Hartismere Place. It's been such a good experience with excellent care, which has helped me gain strength and confidence. All the staff have been so kind and never make you feel that anything is too much trouble. Thank you.

My husband spent 2 weeks in respite & also has been a user of day care unit for a year. I have always been extremely impressed with the care & support shown to him, myself & all the family that have been involved. All staff have been very professional, caring & personally interested in his well-being. While a resident, he has been extremely well cared for & he felt very much at home. I would have no hesitation in recommending Hartismere Day Unit or residential services. Should I feel the need for another 'holiday' for him I would not consider any other organisation.

Additionally, it has been a great comfort that whenever we mention Hartismere Place to friends and acquaintances, the response is invariably very positive from those who have interacted with the home through work or have had family members stay there.

Visiting is available virtually any time.

My father was in the home for over two years. The staff were very friendly and patient with him. They were all very attentive and caring. The carers, the office staff, the reception and the kitchen staff all knew his name and would always find time to chat with him. This was very important to us as my father was a sociable man.

He was in for respite care but I would not hesitate to recommend the home based on his experience and my dealings with the staff.

It's great to have a resident staff dog on site and guest dogs are made welcome which is important for residents who miss their companions. The office team are really knowledgeable about all aspects of care and go the extra mile to assist you in all aspects of the care situation which has been invaluable in our experience.

The food is excellent and my father looks forward to all his meals. Individual preferences are catered for, he has a particular love of ice cream which they always rustle up for him. My father feels safe, secure and well looked after. He is happy and so are we.

The staff are friendly and always very happy to help and advise. Just perfect!
