I needed some respite care after an operation, and a friend recommended Hartismere Place. It's been such a good experience with excellent care, which has helped me gain strength and confidence. All the staff have been so kind and never make you feel that anything is too much trouble. Thank you.

My husband spent 2 weeks in respite & also has been a user of day care unit for a year. I have always been extremely impressed with the care & support shown to him, myself & all the family that have been involved. All staff have been very professional, caring & personally interested in his
well-being. While a resident, he has been extremely well cared for & he felt very much at home. I would have no hesitation in recommending Hartismere Day Unit or residential services. Should I feel the need for another 'holiday' for him I would not consider any other organisation.

My mother has been a resident at Hartismere Place for nearly 3 months.
Our (and mum's) experience has been entirely positive, from the initial visits and discussions about finding her a place, to the excellent care she has received from the team on her suite.
The team have actively sought to
understand her as a person, her personal history, likes and dislikes, in order to make her comfortable and support her wellbeing.
Although it has taken a while for her to get settled, having lived independently for many years, she has often commented on how lovely and helpful everyone is. The team also took pains to place her on a suite that suited her needs best, and had opportunities for her to make new friends, which she has done.
Additionally, it has been a great comfort that whenever we mention Hartismere Place to friends and acquaintances, the response is invariably very positive from those who have interacted with the home through work or have had family members stay there.

All the staff were kind and friendly, during my 2 week stay I improved my health considerably. The good food must have improved my health. Excellent hairdressing on site and chiropody if required. Well kept garden.
Visitors are made welcome with a meal provided. Unlimited drinks during the day.
One negative - my bed wasn't made daily.
Visiting is available virtually any time.

My father was in the home for over two years. The staff were very friendly and patient with him. They were all very attentive and caring. The carers, the office staff, the reception and the kitchen staff all knew his name and would always find time to chat with him. This was very important to us as
my father was a sociable man.

I felt that my Father-in-Law was well cared for by the staff and that his needs, especially with regards to the catering were fulfilled.
He was in for respite care but I would not hesitate to recommend the home based on his experience and my dealings with the staff.

Hartismere Place has been really great with my aunt in respite. Staff arranged for regular medical reviews after her fall and treatment, helped her get her confidence back with showering and bathroom tasks. The facility enriches the lives of the residents with very good food and great rooms and
activities. My aunt particularly liked the on site chiropodist and hair dresser who really did make a a great job with her hair.
The staff at the facility are really well trained and observant of residents needs and preferences. The housekeeping is professional and well delivered and the standards in the facility are very high.
It's great to have a resident staff dog on site and guest dogs are made welcome which is important for residents who miss their companions. The office team are really knowledgeable about all aspects of care and go the extra mile to assist you in all aspects of the care situation which has been invaluable in our experience.

My father has been very well treated since he arrived in late October. His room is very well decorated, easy to move around in, with a well set up ensuite. All the staff are very friendly, caring and approachable. They are always bright and cheerful.
The food is excellent and my father looks
forward to all his meals. Individual preferences are catered for, he has a particular love of ice cream which they always rustle up for him. My father feels safe, secure and well looked after. He is happy and so are we.

Excellent staff. It was good to go away knowing my Dad was being well looked after for a respite period. Lovely home with lots going on to keep residents entertained. Very welcoming home. Professionally run home with residents being at the centre of care. Thank you all so much.

I cannot express enough how grateful I am to the staff at Hartismere Place, where my wife has been residing for the past two years. The transformation in her health and well-being is remarkable. When she first arrived, I was worried about how she would adapt, but thanks to the outstanding care she
has received, she has improved in ways I never thought possible.
I am truly thankful for the fantastic job they have done in caring for my wife. The home is run extremely well and I know she is in good hands.

Mum is a resident and wheelchair-bound suffering with Parkinsons. Dad is a fit and healthy 84-year-old and visits Mum daily. Every member of staff is extraordinary in their care and the way in which they deal with my parents. Normally I would say I couldn't wish for a better care home for Mum as
they are so good, then they really pushed the boat out a few weeks ago. It was Mum and Dad's diamond wedding anniversary on the 25th of July and they decided to renew their vows. All the staff were incredible, decorating the cinema room to use, providing buttonholes and an afternoon tea. Some attended the ceremony as well because they wanted to, because they care. All of the staff genuinely care and I feel very lucky that we found Hartismere for Mum. Parkinson's is a terrible disease and nothing was harder than making the decision that we could no longer care for her at home. Once she was there though it was easy to see we had made the right decision. A massive heartfelt thanks to all of them.

Mum has seemed to be happy during the past five years while living at Hartismere Place. We are confident that she is treated with dignity and respect and we regularly witness her receiving kindness love and affection.
Our only concern at the moment is that since the daycare centre has re-opened, it
seems that the residents do not have the opportunity to take part in as many activities as it all seems that the focus is all on the daycare centre. We feel that Mum (and most likely other residents) needs the simulation, opportunity and encouragement to exercise her motor skills and be creative as Mum has enjoyed many activities with Hartismere Place in the past, especially anything to do with baking which was her passion.

We moved Mum into Hartismere to be closer to us and so we could visit her more often. What a wonderful decision that was, for all of us. From the very beginning, the Home has been welcoming with a warm and friendly atmosphere. Everyone, from reception to the kitchen, is so caring, attentive and
supportive and we have seen such an improvement in her quality of life. Every visit is a pleasure, spending time with her in her room, having a coffee in the cafe or a walk around the beautiful gardens. Thank you, everyone.

Have always found all staff friendly and helpful.
Nice atmosphere within the home. My mother has been here for nearly 10 months but her dementia is such that she can't remember 10 minutes ago let alone yesterday but the staff always greet her and bring a smile to her face. Meals are good and I
think she's in the best place she could be.
Thank you.

I had a particularly difficult situation, being the only relation of my uncle, him being incapacitated by a stroke and me not holding a Power of Attorney, in large part due to not seeing my uncle through the Covid period. This made aspects of being confident we could access funds to pay for care and
on being able to sign a residency agreement 'challenging', but, nothing would stop the quite wonderful staff at Hartismere. Absolutely nothing was too much trouble. These were just 'some challenges' to work through together, and we did indeed, work through them.
But, having moved my uncle into Hartismere, things have just continued to get better and better. The degree of care and real personal interest in his well-being is just wonderful. Everyone is so extremely helpful and cheerful. Even the kitchen staff know me and address me by name.
But it doesn't stop here. The degree of activities and outings the home arranges is nothing short of miraculous. The most wonderful people and place.

The ambience of Hartismere Place is exceptional - every member of staff is a carer, no matter their specific role! My wife and her fellow residents on 'Oak Suite' have Dementia, but the atmosphere is always happy and contented, some achievement given the challenges presented. For my part and that of
all the residents' relatives I've spoken to whilst we might have minor gripes on relatively trivial matters, the all-important practical and supportive care our relatives receive is second to none!
