I started working in the care sector in April 2012, at the age of 23. As a young person from a different country, I was excited to receive the opportunity to join a successful team and learn how great care is delivered. I have not only matured with age, but I have grown as a person amongst exceptional individuals that I have been fortunate enough to meet in the past 10 years during my career path, going from a Care Assistant role, to a Reminiscence Coordinator, Deputy Manager and becoming a General Manager. I strive to help as much as I can and support the team by sharing all my knowledge and empowering people to achieve their full potential. My goal within the care sector is to continue helping people feel loved and treated as individuals, be it residents, relatives, or staff. I have been a General Manager at our Lambwood Heights Care Home since 2022, and I am now excited to start a new chapter at Oakland Care as the Commissioning Manager for Harpenden Springs. Read less

I have supported Care Homes for over 9 years and previously worked in Leisure and HR. My role is to effectively manage the occupancy levels of Lambwood Heights, Woodland Grove and now Harpenden Springs care homes and build positive relationships with residents, families and external contacts in the community.

I work closely with the marketing department and our lifestyles teams to ensure our services are promoted to reflect the excellent care and support we provide. The residents are our extended family who we love to nurture and share daily life with, whilst keeping them safe and well. I began my career in adult social care in 2015, joining a well-known care organisation recognised for its exceptional standards and strong commitment to both residents and employees. Starting as a Carer, I quickly realised how deeply fulfilling it was to support people with compassion, dignity, and genuine human connection. From the very beginning, I was determined to learn, grow, and contribute as much as I could. As my experience developed, I progressed through several roles, including Medication Technician, Senior Care Assistant, Wellness Senior Care Assistant, and eventually Care Supervisor. Each role taught me something new — from medication management and safeguarding to team coordination and person-centred wellbeing. I embraced every opportunity to expand my skills and provide the highest standard of care.

One of the most meaningful milestones in my career was becoming the Dementia Care Manager for one of my beloved communities. In this role, I was able to combine my clinical knowledge with my passion for creating safe, supportive, and dignified environments for people living with dementia. I worked closely with families, championed dementia-friendly practices, and ensured every resident was treated with patience, respect, and understanding.

I have now joined Oakland Care, continuing my commitment to delivering exceptional care to our elderly community. My passion has always been — and will always remain — providing high-quality, compassionate, person-centred support. I joined Oakland Care in November 2025 as Business Administration Manager at Harpenden Springs.

Prior to joining Oakland Care, I spent six years recruiting healthcare professionals and supporting them throughout their careers, from recruitment through to settling into their roles and providing ongoing support. My ethos both at work and in personal life is to always do the right thing, communicate openly, and build relationships based on empathy, trust, and respect. The most rewarding part of my role as the Business Administration Manager is making a positive difference to those around me. Whether supporting residents, colleagues, or families, my approach is to always show kindness, compassion, and professionalism.

I feel very privileged to be part of people’s journeys and take great pride in positively contributing to a welcoming and supportive environment at Harpenden Springs.
