This is the second time that my wife Helen has used the facilities of Driffield Manor for respite. There is good reason for her to return due to the outstanding person centred care that is provided always with a smile.
Me as my wife's full time carer and Helen dealing with her chronic condition of
MS feel refreshed, happy and ready to go again.
The people, the level of service and the leadership all compliment the amazing facilities. well done to you all and we will see you very shortly in the coming months.

Thank you very much

My parents recently stayed for 2 weeks respite at Driffield Manor. The staff were so friendly and helpful, with nothing being too much trouble. My parents were made to really feel at home.
Everything at the Manor was immaculately clean and they had a lovely room. There was an excellent choice of food
everyday with as much or as little as they wanted. The attention and care my parents received was excellent and it was just such a relief to the family to know that they were being so well looked after.

My mum has recently had a respite stay at Driffield Manor. I couldn't be more grateful for the kindness and professionalism shown by all the staff. From the moment she arrived, she was made to feel welcome and comfortable. Staff took time to listen and understand her needs and preferences. This made
a real difference to us both. Thank you to everyone for making what could be a stressful time into a positive experience.

My mum has been a resident here since June 2025 and we couldn't have chosen a better home. The staff are extremely caring and nothing is too much trouble. They treat my mum with huge respect and always have time to chat with her. The home is beautifully decorated and is like a top-class hotel and residents'
rooms are tastefully decorated and coordinated. The hairdresser's and cinema within the home are a wonderful addition to have. The home is kept spotlessly clean and maintained. The chefs do a wonderful job, providing a varied menu and catering for my mum who is a vegetarian. Finally, I have to mention the fantastic activities on offer, from gardening, flower arranging and bowling to trips out and guest singers, there is something for everyone.

My care was excellent and reassuring getting me through the early weeks of my hip replacement, when I was nervous. All the staff were lovely helpful and friendly including the kitchen staff who provided some good meals. My room was nice although I didn't get on very well with the profile bed which I
had asked for, maybe I didn't get on with it because I had to sleep on my back which I am not used to doing.Thebother residents were friendly and I enjoyed their company. We also had good entertainment , Australia Day , Burns Night etc.I also enjoyed the singer the week after that, some did some didn't, but you will never please everyone.
I would like to thank everyone at Driffield Manor for looking after me so well and for making my stay so enjoyable.

The staff at the carehome were second to none. My Auntie/godmother was moved here following a short stay in a different local carehome where she received some of the worst care you could imagine. The staff at The Manor helped make her last days comfortable and showed her so much care and compassion
I will always be greatful. The location of the home means it is easy to access and always easy to park plus if a resident is well enough to take short walks they have quick and easy access into the town centre.
I do have a few relatives who have wanted to come for short stays of one or two weeks andI think it is a shame that your policy does not permit this as Im sure if someone stayed with you short-term they would not want to leave.
Reply from Samantha Debenham, Reviews Team at Driffield ManorFirstly, please may we start by offering our sincere and heartfelt condolences to you and your family for your loss during this difficult time. It is incredibly kind of you to take the time to let us know how your Auntie enjoyed precious time with the team at Driffield Manor. I know I can say that each of the team will be uplifted by your words and will be delighted to know that their care has been so well received and appreciated. For most it is a vocation and continually delivered with care and empathy for residents and their families with a shared goal of wanting to make their time with us the very best it can be.

We are also pleased to know your thoughts as a visitor on the location of the home, and that you also saw the benefits of opportunities for residents able to take short walks and where aided to even enjoy the town centre with their loved ones.
Your feedback regarding short stays has been noted. Whilst we currently do not offer short term stays it is invaluable to have insight as to how this may be of value to families and it is wonderful to hear that this is your viewpoint following your loved ones stay.
Thank you for such a thoughtful review, and for sharing your Aunties experience of our care from you and your family’s point of view. Very best wishes to you and your family.

I cannot fault the lead up to Christmas. The activities were fabulous which of course is down to the staff. My wife is so well cared for. I can't fault the support she is being provided. We transferred my wife's care from another home to Driffield and it was the best decision we ever made. The facilities
are beautiful and we can't praise the staff highly enough - thank you.

Although Mum sadly spent only two nights in Driffield Manor, the care and respect shown before, during and afterwards was outstanding. The staff went out of their way to help us at a difficult time. All the accommodation is fabulous, but it was the care and kindness of staff which made this a special

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.741)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.741) out of 10 for Driffield Manor is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 13 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 13 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.987 for Driffield Manor is calculated as follows: ( (148 Excellents x 5) + (2 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 150 Ratings = 4.987
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.754 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Driffield Manor is based on 13 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.825
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 70 registered maximum number of service users is 14. 13 Positive Reviews ÷ 14 = 0.929
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Home Manager

I’m incredibly proud to lead such a dedicated and compassionate team at Driffield Manor. I hold a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services (Adults’ Management) and have many years of experience managing care homes.

I believe effective leadership comes from being approachable, positive and transparent. Good communication, compassion and high standards are all key to providing outstanding care and ensuring that all residents and colleagues feel valued and supported. I can’t choose just one favourite part of my day, as I truly enjoy every aspect of my job, but seeing colleagues and residents happy is always a highlight.

A personal career highlight for me was becoming a Registered and Commissioning Manager, as well as taking part in a two-part TV documentary called Crisis in Care with Ed Balls. In 2021, I was also honoured to win the Registered Manager Award at the Yorkshire and Humberside Great British Care Awards.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, going on holidays and taking long walks with my dog, Spencer.
