From the moment that you walk in you are greeted with warmth and professionalism when I popped in to enquire about respite for my wife Helen. Nell is amazing and full of knowledge as she showed me around your beautiful care home.
She booked us in for an assessment with Hannah which was carried out
with exceptional detail, empathy and was very personalised.
I have just picked Helen up today ( Wednesday 29th October) and I have never seen her looking so well and refreshed after a week away. To know and appreciate that she is in such good capable hands as allowed me to recharge my batteries which was much needed.

To each and everyone of you that make up this amazing team thank you very much for everything because it really matters.

Looking forward to seeing you all next year

I could not fault anything in the Home. The one thing that stood out was the friendly caring staff who were prepared to do anything to make life more comfortable. There was a greeting and a mile from everyone you met.

Although Mum sadly spent only two nights in Driffield Manor, the care and respect shown before, during and afterwards was outstanding. The staff went out of their way to help us at a difficult time. All the accommodation is fabulous, but it was the care and kindness of staff which made this a special
place for us.

I have found Driffield Manor to be very welcoming both for residents and their families. The care is exceptional and residents are treated with respect and kindness. The activities on offer are fantastic from manicures to trips out on the minibus, from in-house games and the cinema to singers and
bingo nights, the list is endless! The food served is of restaurant standard and is well varied. The home has been very tastefully decorated and once you step through the front doors you enter what resembles a 5* hotel with a lovely relaxed, tranquil atmosphere. There isn't anything I could criticize about Driffield Manor and feel very lucky to have found such a fabulous home for my mum, who is undoubtedly cared for and respected by every member of staff. Fantastic work Driffield Manor!

Current Review Score: 8.7 (8.661)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.7 (8.661) out of 10 for Driffield Manor is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 4 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.7 out of 5 from 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 5.000 for Driffield Manor is calculated as follows: ( (46 Excellents x 5) ) ÷ 46 Ratings = 5
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.661 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Driffield Manor is based on 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.375
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 70 registered maximum number of service users is 14. 4 Positive Reviews ÷ 14 = 0.286
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Home Manager

I’m incredibly proud to lead such a dedicated and compassionate team at Driffield Manor. I hold a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services (Adults’ Management) and have many years of experience managing care homes.

I believe effective leadership comes from being approachable, positive and transparent. Good communication, compassion and high standards are all key to providing outstanding care and ensuring that all residents and colleagues feel valued and supported. I can’t choose just one favourite part of my day, as I truly enjoy every aspect of my job, but seeing colleagues and residents happy is always a highlight.

A personal career highlight for me was becoming a Registered and Commissioning Manager, as well as taking part in a two-part TV documentary called Crisis in Care with Ed Balls. In 2021, I was also honoured to win the Registered Manager Award at the Yorkshire and Humberside Great British Care Awards.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, going on holidays and taking long walks with my dog, Spencer.
