Maplewood is a special caring place.

and cared for our relative for 3yrs

It is modern, with good clean facilities with spacious rooms, with en suite and a good laundry service.

Food is well presented and meal times well supported with available staff to assist.

The care is good and staff are all approachable and happy to help. They treat everyone individually and know them well, treating them with respect and dignity.

There are plenty of appropriate activities if needed and plenty of social interaction with residents from all staff-carers, maintenence, cleaners, catering everyone.

It is never easy finding an appropriate care home, but would not hesitate in recommending Maplewood. Its like a hotel with care facilities and great friendly staff.

The staff really make this a good home

Maplewood is nothing short of exceptional. The facilities themselves are fantastic but what really makes this place stand out is the team there. Every person involved there always have time to speak to you and help you with anything. Not only that they treat the residents there with care, respect and dignity. Even at particularly challenging times they are always thinking of not only the resident but their families and what they can do to make their lives easier. I can not express my thanks highly enough to them.

If I could give an even higher score I would my dad was made to feel safe, secure ,and comfortable from the first day of his residency.
Staff however busy they were always had time for you and a smile on their face, nothing was too much trouble . Residents at Maplewood are treated with dignity, respect, and love .

I cannot express enough how much my family appreciated dads care at Maplewood right up to his last day

The home is brilliantly run by a group of dedicated, friendly and welcoming staff who really get to know their residents. There are a range of activities organised, day trips and more so that it feels more like a hotel than a care home, offering older generations the dignity to age graceful and not miss out on making memories and enjoying themselves. For residents who prefer not to partake in group events, there are ample rooms and facilities for family gatherings.
As my grandfather's health declined, the home were incredibly supportive and after his passing provided great support for my family. The staff take the time to build relationships, understand and bond with residents and it comforts me to know that he was surrounded by people who cared for him physically but also offered him friendship.

I could not have wished for a better place for my grandad to spend his final years and cannot recommend the home more highly.

Our friend came to Maplewood Court as a stopgap measure as its sister home (much closer to us all) had no space. He has had 2 months in residence on the nursing floor. We cannot fault any aspect of his care. The carers nursing & activity staff have all put themselves out to tailor day to day living to our friends appropriate needs. The food and service is amazing, the bistro wonderful. However, overall it is the staff who make it exceptional. Thank you all at Maplewood Court!

Maplewood Court is a luxury care home unlike any other. It's an extended family.

I agree private care being funded by someone's lifetime of hard work is shocking. Consult legal professionals at least 7 years before you get to this stage. Having said that it truly comes down to End of Life care provided by all staff. At Maplewood the care, love, respect, compassion and dignity shown towards my mother-in-law during her final days and hours was exemplary. Words of gratitude are just not enough. Maplewood is run by an excellent caring management team and that's what counts!

Although my father wasn't at Maplewood Court for very long, he received the very best care and attention. After a difficult two week stay in hospital, the relief we felt as a family knowing he was safe in a calm and caring environment was enormous. Every member of staff was friendly, compassionate, understanding and patient. Maplewood Court is a lovely modern building, the residents' rooms are spacious and well appointed with large ensuite washrooms, the lounges are comfortable, the dining room was welcoming. It did not feel like a care facility but more like a home.

It's been a week now since Mum's passing and with all the arrangements to organise, I have only just found the time to write to you.
I just wanted to say how very grateful we all are for the amazing care *** received in her last few days and throughout her time at Maplewood Court. Your staff are all wonderful, caring people who do the most amazing job everyday to enrich the lives of our elderly relatives.
In her final hours, despite *** being asleep and unaware of what was happening, your staff still made sure she was clean, cared for, comfortable and out of pain.
Her last few days were quiet and serene and full of love, with visiting staff checking in on her medically, or just popping in to talk to her.

*** was a big personality as we know and she would have loved all the attention she received from everyone, with whom she had genuine fond connections.

Mum was a resident at Maplewood Court from early January 25 following a fall at home in late 2024. From the moment we viewed the home with Michael, having looked at so many care homes to find the perfect one for mum, we knew straight away this was the place for mum, her new home. There was no pressure to choose the home, with every member of staff we met walking round you could feel their passion and why we chose Maplewood Court. This showed from day one of mum arriving, the staff were brilliant, they helped settle mum, and after very little time mum engaged with residents, took part in the activities they put on in the home which shocked us knowing mum, and she settled so well. Mum sadly passed just a few days ago in their care, but knowing mum had the best care throughout, that she was honestly loved by staff, this shown with their emotion we witnessed. Every resident to them is so important. If we could give more than 5 stars we would. You cannot ask for more.

My mother spent her last 39 days in room 17 at Maplewood Court. She settled well and loved her room, it became a haven of safety and care for her and for me. From managers, reception staff and nurses and carers, everyone gave mum tender and totally committed care and attention. We couldn't have asked for more at the end of her life. Her passing was comfortable, peaceful and respectful. A heartfelt thankyou from me

Mum came to live at Maplewood Court after spending a month in hospital. In the 5 months mums has been here we have seen the most amazing transformation. She is very happy. Feels so well cared for and enjoys a fun and varied social life here. As for myself and my sister we feel fully support and uplifted by the staff here too. It's like a 5 star hotel! Our dad was only a resident for a few weeks, but we know that he settled in well and made a few friends and enjoyed his short stay. It was clear from the start that all the staff were engaged, happy and enthusiastic about everything they did. That was also born out when we attended the Summer Open Day event when we were particularly pleased to see that fun and energy that continued day after day with the residents and not just for the open day event. The final week was obviously more difficult but with the loving care that your team gave, that time was so much easier for him. All the staff involved were wonderful and the care and support that you showed to us during that difficult time was exceptional. Words cannot fully express how grateful we are to all the staff involved, you were all wonderful and we thank you all.

My grandmother has gone from strength to strength since moving into Maplewood back in Spring 2024 (after breaking her hip weeks before following her 90th birthday) and this is all thanks to the wonderful care and attention from all staff. Her medical needs were high when she first became a resident so she was upstairs then once she was more mobile, it was suggested that she move downstairs where she thrives even more as she loves to sit and watch all that goes on. My grandmother is unique and the staff were quick to learn her ways and adapt how they deal with her. They are always friendly and there to speak to upon a visit. We visit regularly with our own young family along with the children we care for daily and are always made to feel welcome too. The residents have activities on daily and are always invited along but never pushed if they choose not to participate. She says she is enjoying her new home, is treated like royalty and with respect and does not wish to go home.

I qualified as a Registered General Nurse in 1994 and began my career working in a hospital in general medicine, before moving into more acute cardiac services working on Coronary Care.

I then became a Cardiac Research Nurse and spent time working on the Heart Protection Study in partnership with the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.

I then moved into the private sector and worked as a Clinical Nurse Adviser working in primary care working my way up to Field Manager before moving into Elderly Care in 2007.

My ethos in my role is very much that with great teamwork and collaboration we can achieve anything for our residents and their families, and every single staff member contributes to the success of the home.

I have previously been nominated for Nurse Adviser of the Year at the Pf Awards and in elderly care, I was more recently nominated in Dementia Environment and Care Manager categories in both the National Dementia Awards and National Care Awards.

Our residents are at the centre of everything we do at Maplewood Court. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family – I have ten-year-old twin girls and I enjoy running approximately three times a week.

Originally from Poland, I moved to the UK in 2011 with a passion for making a difference in people’s lives. I studied Health and Social Care and knew early on that caring for older people was my calling. I began working in care homes at the age of 18 and have since progressed through various roles, from Healthcare Assistant to Assistant Practitioner, Unit Manager, and now Deputy Manager. I have always treated residents as I would my own family—with compassion, respect, and dignity. Working at Oakland Care allows me to continue doing what I love in a supportive, values-driven environment. I take great pride in being part of a team that truly puts people first, and I’m inspired every day by the positive impact we make in our residents’ lives.

I am delighted to have joined the Oakland Care family as Senior Client Relations Manager for Maplewood Court. My experience in the role goes back 11 years now, including the commissioning of a new care home. Nothing gives me greater satisfaction than assisting families to explore full-time care options, whilst sharing insights during what is often a stressful time for them. Outside of work, my biggest passion has always been travel, which hopefully will become easier again in the fullness of time!

I’m very proud to be a part of the Oakland Care family. I originally trained as a photographer and photographic printer back in the days of film! From shooting family portraits in the studio one day to being in the darkroom the next, it was a varied job. Working for Oakland Care has been by far the most personally rewarding; helping residents and their families navigate what can be a difficult and stressful pathway to happiness gives me immense pleasure. Our residents are at the heart of everything we do here at Oakland Care, and I feel truly humbled to be a part of it. Outside of work, I enjoy getting out in the fresh air, either on my bike or walking in the countryside.
