Our dad was only a resident for a few weeks, but we know that he settled in well and made a few friends and enjoyed his short stay. It was clear from the start that all the staff were engaged, happy and enthusiastic about everything they did. That was also born out when we attended the Summer Open Day
event when we were particularly pleased to see that fun and energy that continued day after day with the residents and not just for the open day event. The final week was obviously more difficult but with the loving care that your team gave, that time was so much easier for him. All the staff involved were wonderful and the care and support that you showed to us during that difficult time was exceptional. Words cannot fully express how grateful we are to all the staff involved, you were all wonderful and we thank you all.

I viewed Maplewood and was extremely impressive with the whole place. Very modern and clean with fabulous facilities.
The staff and management were so helpful and kind. Nothing is any trouble for them. Always staff on hand to answer any questions.

My grandmother has gone from strength to strength since moving into Maplewood back in Spring 2024 (after breaking her hip weeks before following her 90th birthday) and this is all thanks to the wonderful care and attention from all staff. Her medical needs were high when she first became a resident
so she was upstairs then once she was more mobile, it was suggested that she move downstairs where she thrives even more as she loves to sit and watch all that goes on. My grandmother is unique and the staff were quick to learn her ways and adapt how they deal with her. They are always friendly and there to speak to upon a visit. We visit regularly with our own young family along with the children we care for daily and are always made to feel welcome too. The residents have activities on daily and are always invited along but never pushed if they choose not to participate. She says she is enjoying her new home, is treated like royalty and with respect and does not wish to go home.

The Care home have been excellent. The staff are friendly and caring. Whenever there are issues, Mother has had a fall etc. they have been quick to contact the family, reassure us and advise us what they are doing and what we need to do. I cannot fault anything they have in the care of my Mother!

I cannot praise or thank Maplewood Court enough for everything they have done for my mum. The home is luxurious, clean and a real home from home, but best of all is the care that they provide. All the staff are friendly, approachable and really care for the residents. They have transformed my mum back
to her old self and for that I will be eternally grateful.
I would recommend this home to anyone. It's excellent.

It was so important to find the best nursing care for my mother in law to cater for her physical, medical and well being care. From the first telephone call through to my mother in law arriving from hospital - it has been so smooth and reassuring. We really could not have found a more ideal home than
Maplewood Court. It is such a modern, safe and calming place where my wife and I plus daughter know our mother in law is being constantly supported. The wonderful rooms, lovely lounges and hotel feel to the whole environment helped my mother in law settle in. The absolute stand out is the truly amazing staff who focus on kind and thoughtful nursing and pastoral care. The wide range of restaurant standard food and menus has made my mother in law to re-love food again.

My Mum has been a resident at Maplewood Court for several years.
I visited several homes before my Mum moved into care and Maplewood was by far the best.
My Mum is so well looked after and all the staff are always welcoming when family members visit. The staff are very good to her and she always appears
to be happy considering she severe dementia and is bed ridden.

We really could not have found a lovelier home for our dear Mum than Maplewood Court. It is such a beautiful and therapeutic place to be, where Mum, and all of our family, feel valued and cared for. The staff are so kind, and we have the peace of knowing that she really is in the best of care. Mum
used to love going out to coffee shops, and so the 'Bistro' is a lovely area where we sit with her, and have a cuppa and a piece of home made cake. For many years, Mum liked to paint with watercolours, and a lovely lady who does crafts with the residents, has been helping her to begin enjoying her painting again, which is so lovely to see. We truly can't tell you how very thankful we are for the blessing that is Maplewood Court.

Our initial experience of Maplewood Court and their excellent staff team is very positive indeed. From the very first phone call we made as novices to this sector to where we are now, well informed and assisted at every stage to select appropriate care for my aunt.
My aunt, initially a reluctant
resident, was within a few short weeks at the hands of caring, friendly staff exercising their many skills to introduce her to the rhythms and activities of the home, settling beautifully and looks and feels much happier and healthier than when she arrived. She now feels involved and accepted by a good circle of friends and attends most activities, not to mention having her hair styled regularly and looking forward to the ministrations of the chiropodist. So much so we often find it difficult to catch her in her room when ringing her.
We cannot fault the care and the attention to detail in the home, all queries are dealt with speedily and followed up whenever necessary.

My mother spent the last 15 months of her life at Maplewood Court until she passed away recently. During this time, she was extremely happy and received fantastic care from the team at the Maplewood Court care home. From the top down, I have never seen so many smiling, welcoming and caring personnel.
Nothing was too much trouble, there was always staff on hand to provide any assistance and motivation. My mother was involved in a variety of daily activities and really looked forward to her weekly "pamper" session with the hairdresser. Our family could not have been happier with the love and care that our mum received at Maplewood Court care home and we would like to take this opportunity of thanking everyone for their amazing contribution to her life.

Maplewood Court has been home to my Dad for the last 2 years until he sadly passed away recently.
Dad received excellent care, he was not always the easiest of residents but the team showed understanding, care and patience always.
The home itself is fabulous and clean and nothing is too much trouble
for anyone.

I cannot fault the physical and emotional care given to my mother during her five-month residence and especially in her last week. The facilities and catering in the home are excellent but, more importantly, the staff are without exception supportive, caring and loving. It is hard to place a loved one
in someone else's care but I couldn't have wished for better.

A bright, cheerful home. Friendly, responsive and caring staff. Lovely facilities. Food choices very good. Laundry service staff were cheerful and very efficient. No items lost and my clothes all returned to me according to the manufacturer's labels. I would thoroughly recommend this home. I stayed
for 2 weeks post-op respite care.

From the minute my mother arrived at Maplewood two years ago, until her final passing recently, the service from the team at Maplewood has been excellent. Whilst my mother was a spirited and determined individual, she received a consistent and compassionate high level of care. Our family felt she was
always in a safe place with her best interests always taken into account. The home was spotlessly clean, the quality of the food perfectly suited and nothing was ever too much trouble. The whole team must be commended and we are grateful for their attention.

Mum moved into Maplewood Court in July 2023 after a very bad experience at an assessment centre. The staff spent time and effort to make my Mum feel safe and secure at Maplewood. There were reviews every month about how Mum was doing and also residents' family meetings held regularly where we had a
chance to talk with the Manager and other families.
Mum had dementia and was not always easy but the staff dealt with her as if she was one of their family. She passed away in early February. The staff took care of Mum but also ensured that the family was ok too. It was clear that they cared about Mum a lot and did everything to make her last couple of days as comfortable as possible. The manager came in to check on us and even the reception staff made sure we were ok on our arrival and departure each day. I could not have asked for more for Mum and highly recommend Maplewood Court.

Job Title: General Manager Joined: 2022

I qualified as a Registered General Nurse in 1994 and began my career working in a hospital in general medicine, before moving into more acute cardiac services working on Coronary Care.
I then became a Cardiac Research Nurse and spent time working on the Heart Protection Study in partnership with the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.


I then moved into the private sector and worked as a Clinical Nurse Adviser working in primary care working my way up to Field Manager before moving into Elderly Care in 2007.

My ethos in my role is very much that with great teamwork and collaboration we can achieve anything for our residents and their families, and every single staff member contributes to the success of the home.


I have previously been nominated for Nurse Adviser of the Year at the Pf Awards and in elderly care, I was more recently nominated in Dementia Environment and Care Manager categories in both the National Dementia Awards and National Care Awards.


Our residents are at the centre of everything we do at Maplewood Court. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family – I have ten-year-old twin girls and I enjoy running approximately three times a week.

Originally from Poland, I moved to the UK in 2011 with a passion for making a difference in people’s lives. I studied Health and Social Care and knew early on that caring for older people was my calling. I began working in care homes at the age of 18 and have since progressed through various roles, from Healthcare Assistant to Assistant Practitioner, Unit Manager, and now Deputy Manager. I have always treated residents as I would my own family—with compassion, respect, and dignity. Working at Oakland Care allows me to continue doing what I love in a supportive, values-driven environment. I take great pride in being part of a team that truly puts people first, and I’m inspired every day by the positive impact we make in our residents’ lives.

I am delighted to have joined the Oakland Care family as Senior Client Relations Manager for Maplewood Court. My experience in the role goes back 11 years now, including the commissioning of a new care home. Nothing gives me greater satisfaction than assisting families to explore full-time care options, whilst sharing insights during what is often a stressful time for them. Outside of work, my biggest passion has always been travel, which hopefully will become easier again in the fullness of time!

I’m very proud to be a part of the Oakland Care family. I originally trained as a photographer and photographic printer back in the days of film! From shooting family portraits in the studio one day to being in the darkroom the next, it was a varied job. Working for Oakland Care has been by far the most personally rewarding; helping residents and their families navigate what can be a difficult and stressful pathway to happiness gives me immense pleasure. Our residents are at the heart of everything we do here at Oakland Care, and I feel truly humbled to be a part of it. Outside of work, I enjoy getting out in the fresh air, either on my bike or walking in the countryside.
