Although my father wasn't at Maplewood Court for very long, he received the very best care and attention. After a difficult two week stay in hospital, the relief we felt as a family knowing he was safe in a calm and caring environment was enormous. Every member of staff was friendly, compassionate,
understanding and patient. Maplewood Court is a lovely modern building, the residents' rooms are spacious and well appointed with large ensuite washrooms, the lounges are comfortable, the dining room was welcoming. It did not feel like a care facility but more like a home.
Reply from Jo Mazza, General Manager at Maplewood CourtThank you so much for taking the time to leave us such a lovely review. Although only for a short time it was an absolute pleasure to take care of your Father and meet you all. I will of course pass on this lovely feedback to the team.

I regularly visit my friend at the care home. I am always impressed at the friendliness of the staff and the staff who are available to support all the residents. My friend enjoys engaging in the variety of activities that are available and benefits from the support given. She loves coming to the home
'cafe' which is a lovely sociable part of the care home. I am impressed how clean the home is. I always leave feeling confident she is well cared for. Thank you to all.

This is the second time my mum has stayed at Hastings Court for respite. Mum was happy and socialised with other clients, and engaged in the activities which are appropriate for her age. Food and hygiene was of top hotel standards. All care was given by warm, friendly staff. It was good to know Mum
was in a safe and homely environment.

My grandmother stayed at Lambwood Heights for two and a half years while living with dementia, and we are incredibly grateful for the care she received during her time there. The whole team provided such kind, compassionate, and high-quality support, not only to my grandmother but also to us as a family.
She
had a wonderful routine, enjoyed her time in the home, and we always felt comfortable and welcome when spending time with her in that environment. The decor of the home is lovely and welcoming, which made visiting even more comforting, and the food was good with plenty of vegetarian options available.
Every member of staff, from housekeeping and lifestyle to the kitchen staff and carers was fantastic, hardworking, and genuinely caring. The management team were also exceptional, always supportive, understanding, and reassuring to us as a family throughout her stay. Their dedication made a very difficult time much easier for all of us.
Reply from Sally-Ann Wakeham, Client Relations Assistant at Lambwood Heights Care HomeWe all greatly appreciate your kind feedback , it was our pleasure to have your grandmother live with us and for you all to be part of our family too.

The nursing element was exceptionally good and the staff across the board friendly, courteous and helpful.
The building is modern and well planned and there are activities organised every day for those who wish to join in plus an onsite hairdressing salon and small bistro providing refreshments. There
is also a visiting physiotherapist who immediately puts you at ease, instils you with confidence and to whom I personally am extremely grateful. The respite care I received provided an ideal transition period between my discharge from hospital and my ability to return to my own home. If I have one criticism it is in relation to some of the meals which could on occasion be best described as somewhat creative but unfortunately not in a good way. Bearing in mind the average age of the residents I feel that more thought could be given when planning the days menus to enhance enjoyment of the meals and avoid unnecessary waste. However, my overall experience was positive.
Reply from Fiona Heneghan, Client Relations Manager at Elsyng HouseThank you for your valuable feedback which will be reviewed. We are so pleased to see your recovery and to return home confidently.

I want to be clear: this isn't about every carer at Hastings Court. Some genuinely try. The real problem is the management, who run this place like a business first, with care coming a distant second. My father's experience exposed serious failings - inconsistent basic care, poor monitoring, long waits
for help, and constant contradictions when we raised concerns. As soon as his needs became slightly more complex, the tone changed and it felt like they wanted him gone rather than supported.
What's even more concerning is their online behavior: I tried sharing honest feedback on a social media platform, but Hastings Court deletes negative comments and reviews, giving families a false sense of security. The glossy marketing hides a very different reality.
If you're considering this home, look beyond the curated image - our family's experience was deeply distressing, cumulated into a safeguarding case with the LA which is documented with the CQC.
I wouldn't want anyone else to go through the same,
Reply from Kaye Giles, Registered Manager at Hastings CourtThank you for the review of your fathers respite stay. All feedback is appreciated and helps to support ongoing service development.

Birchwood Heights care home is a wonderful caring home, the staff are all amazing. The home is clean throughout. I chose Birchwood Heights as it felt like a 5 star hotel. My mum didn't like the idea going into a care home, but the months my mum stayed she's loved it right from the start. The staff took
very special care with mum. The food was amazing. The management team so caring. The home has may features like a bar, spa pampering area, tea shop, Movie Room, and activities plus much more. My mum received very good care, the up most respect while on palliative care I couldn't ask for any more. I'm so grateful that mum enjoyed her stay I only wished mum had longer. Please view this care home for your love one. Thank you to all the staff.
