After an exploratory visit to Beechwood Grove because of failing mobility and severe back pain I decided to take a 4 week respite break. This was organised at very short notice, but the management were incredibly helpful and supportive, even providing a wheelchair taxi at the last minute to help with
my admission. The home runs like one big extended family and the care is provided in a very kind yet professional manner. Moving away from home isn't easy, but the entire team have worked tirelessly to make me feel welcome and safe, and to offer support whenever I needed it.

Overall the care home offers everything I could want for mum. It's certainly within the top 3 care homes in the area, and while the other two are significantly larger, they lose the personalised, family feel that Beechwood Grove captures. There is very little staff turnover, which is essential for the
memory floor and reflects how staff members are treated and acknowledged for their care and hard work ethics. Everyone is charming and welcoming to visitors, from the front reception, chefs, housekeepers, management and the staff directly involved in mum's care. The care home manager has a fun playful side but also listens well to any concerns that may arise or suggestions for improvements that could be considered. Again, unlike other care homes BG''schedule of daily activities is varied and all residents are encouraged to participate. BG is more similar to a 5* hotel, and does not have the pungent smells so ofter associated with care homes. I'm happy to recommend.

My mother has received really excellent care and support since she arrived in Beechwood Grove in March, and particularly during her recent illness. The kindness of the staff and their timely medical interventions have made all the difference to her ongoing health and recovery. Mum says 'I feel cared
for and safe here', and that means the world to us as a family. Thank you Beechwood Grove.

My family and I am very happy with the level of care my father receives in the dementia floor at Beechwood Grove. Without exception, all staff are kind and considerate, cheerful with a good sense of humour. The home feels buzzy and friendly. The communication, both internally within the home and to
the relevant family members, is also excellent. We feel our loved family member is in good hands. The meals are thoughtful and beautifully prepared. We feel very lucky that our father is at Beechwood Grove.

Dad has been a resident on the Nursing Floor at Beechwood Grove since December 2024. Sadly he is now unable to take part in all the lovely activities but he is very well cared for by all the wonderful staff. From the moment you walk through the main entrance the receptionists, the Management, Admin
team, Carers, Lifestyle Team, Maintenance staff and Cleaners are all very warm and welcoming. It is lovely to chat to the residents in the Bistro on arrival. My sister and I are really very happy with the care Dad receives and we are so glad we found this home and would highly recommend Beechwood Grove. Thank you to you all.

Mum, who lives with dementia, moved into Beechwood Grove in August 2025.
The home is unlike any other that we visited. It is more like a hotel than a care home. The decor and furnishings are very relaxing and welcoming.
The food is excellent, Mum has put on weight and as well as the 3 meals a day,
The Bistro is always available with refreshments for residents and visitors alike.
The activities are second to none- not just a boring round of quizzes everyday, but baking, arts and crafts, musicians, dancers, people giving talks, the Beechwood Olympics was the noisiest event I have witnessed with residents joyfully winning medals for curling, darts, and basketball hoops. There are games and puzzles as well as word games played. Also quiet events like Knit and Natter.
What makes this place so special however, is the staff. No words can describe how great they all are, from housekeeping, activities, care, and admin. Nothing is too much trouble. I am so glad Mum is here.

From my initial contact and tour, I cannot fault every one of the staff I cam into contact with. Nothing was too much trouble and I knew my husband was in excellent care, which put my mind at rest after he had a bad fall and needed respite and nursing care after leaving hospital. Very grateful to everyone
and would definitely recommend Beechwood Grove, and would not hesitate to use them again if necessary.

My mum feels very content and well-looked after. It is a light and airy home. The food is good. I honestly can't find a single fault
with it. Would definately recommend to anyone.

I took delivery of a mobility scooter recently, and the whole ethos of the care home itself. Help, support, and interest from every department. Maintenance helped confirm how to use it and enabled storage. The dining room and kitchen staff held back my delayed lunch. All other staff showed interest
and encouragement. Just like a family which is so appreciated, when decisions have to be made, it instils confidence.

Walking into Beechwood Grove is like walking into a friends house, you are welcomed with a friendly greeting and a smile from everyone you meet regardless of their role in the home. Hot drinks and snacks are available if needed in a sociable meeting area. There are many activities planned for the residents
to suit a wide variety of tastes and needs. The property is brilliantly maintained, regularly redecorated and the staff work tirelessly to keep everything spotless. The home has also adopted many green issues, like solar panels, recently. There are regular opportunities for both the residents and families and friends to attend meetings to find out what has happened and is planned for the future. Truly a great place where my mother is treated extremely well. Well done Beechwood Grove.

Beechwood Grove Care Home is in a league of its own. From the pleasant welcome area to the staff who care for my friend one has nothing but admiration. All the staff treat her with respect, kindness and understanding. The laundry department is very efficient and, in my experience, no clothes go missing.
The chefs are always happy to receive comments and provide a good variety of menu's. All the management are accessible and willing to answer any questions.

The wonderful staff at Beechwood Grove Care Home never ceased to amaze me!! Who would have thought about a garden party to celebrate an author. Well! one was held there at the end of July in their lovely gardens, the residents looking splendid in their summer hats, and staff dressed as Georgian ladies,
we were also treated, whilst dining, to a demonstration of a musical show of elegant ladies and gent, to dances in the fashion of the era, in their beautiful dresses, they performed - gavattes-dances and other types of dances of the time, that were favoured in Bath at the time that the author resided there. The "troupe" invite others in the audience to join in, of which I was one!! all great fun, which was given to us all, with admiration to the staff - for a most enjoyable afternoon.

From the moment we contacted one staff member in particular at Beechwood Care Home, we knew it was the right place for Mum, who has Alzheimer's. The warmth, happiness, and genuine care from staff stood out immediately.
The move-in process was seamless, and the team was incredibly supportive during
what could have been a very emotional day. Mum settled in quickly, formed lovely friendships, and takes part in all the amazing activities, including fun trips out. Seeing her smile in the regular social media updates brings us such joy.
The home is spotless, the food is excellent, and Mum always looks well cared for and happy - she even enjoys a G&T in the evenings! Alzheimer's is a cruel disease, but Mum now has quality of life, and we have peace of mind. Beechwood Care Home is exceptional, and we couldn't recommend it more.

My mum was resident at Beechwood Grove (nursing care) from January 2025, and during that time she received excellent care from everyone. There was no shortage of daily events she could take part in if she wished, nursing and other staff were always very helpful and kind, and helped to organise mum's
93rd birthday party in the separate residents' room, which she really enjoyed. I would have no hesitation in recommending Beechwood Grove to anyone looking for their relative to be happy and well looked after.

My mother has been a resident at Beechwood Grove almost a year ago now and from the first moment she arrived she has extremely well cared for. Everyone from the housekeeping team, the carers, the nursing staff, catering team, lifestyle team, receptionists, to the management team have all been first
class. Everyone is so professional, caring, kind and compassionate. There are lots of daily activities for her to do, including a weekly trip out which she loves. Her recent birthday was celebrated in style and again the staff made her feel so special on the day followed by a celebration buffet the day after. As a family we are very happy and can see that mum is thriving, it has given her a new lease of life! Would highly recommend to anyone looking for residential care for a loved one.

I just want to express my heartfelt thanks for the exceptional care my late mother received during her time at this care home. From the moment she arrived, every member of the team showed such kindness, compassion and professionalism - not just towards her, but towards us as a family too.
It's hard
to put into words how much it meant to see her treated with such dignity and warmth. There was a real sense of humanity in everything the staff did, and that made all the difference at a very difficult time.
The care here goes far beyond the clinical - it's thoughtful, personal and genuinely compassionate. We'll always be thankful for the support we received and will remember it with deep appreciation.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.918)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.918) out of 10 for Beechwood Grove is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 25 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 25 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.918 for Beechwood Grove is calculated as follows: ( (269 Excellents x 5) + (22 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 292 Ratings = 4.918
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Beechwood Grove is based on 25 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 61 registered maximum number of service users is 12.2, which has been reached with 25 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

I started my working journey 30 years ago in the hotel & restaurant industry, I mastered the art of fine dining and hospitality management.

After 10 years I decided on a change and moved into the private care sector, where I have stayed for the last 20 years. During this time, I have worked in a variety of roles and most recently as Head of Hospitality. I have the belief that every single employee plays a huge role in the success of the home, so I feel that team work is a priority.

I have gained an in-depth knowledge of care home management and hope to be able to bring my skills to complement the established and excellent team at Beechwood Grove Care Home.

My biggest accomplishment was leading a team to win the coveted National Association of Care Catering Award for Care Establishment of the Year.

My favourite activity in my spare time is making memories with my family. We enjoy playing board games, going out for walks and cooking together on the BBQ! I also like to raise funds for charities close to me. I love to hold dinner parties for friends and family and I have a passion for collecting vintage red wine!

Job Title: Client Relations Manager Joined: 2022

Before I joined Beechwood Grove, I had a range of roles, including driving double-deckers and bendy buses around Eastbourne and Brighton. I recently worked in the retirement sector as a property manager; the opportunity came to join the team at Beechwood Grove. In my spare time, I am a volunteer team leader for the local homeless charity, providing outreach sessions on the seafront in Eastbourne.

My role involves showcasing our beautiful home to potential new residents and their families, guiding them through their journey to join Beechwood Grove. I also work closely with the Head of Hospitality, showcasing events at Beechwood Grove on social media and being the editor of the internal newsletter, the Beechwood Bugle.
