I reviewed 19 Nursing Homes before deciding on Beechwood Grove. I called them on a ‘Sunday morning’ at 08:15 am the Duty Receptionist was most helpful and the Duty Manger called me back within 15 minutes, again this was a really informative conversation with someone that could empathise with our acute family situation. I visited the home the following week and, from the moment walking in the door, I felt comfortable and at ease, with the gut feeling that Mum would feel at ease here. The atmosphere and interaction between the residents and staff was palpable and organic with genuine fun, humour compassion and care. Now some six weeks later, Mum is really content and happy. She loves her room and is always made to feel part of the ‘Beechwood Family’. Everyone goes the ‘extra mile’ to help her feel at home whilst treating her with respect, dignity and as an individual. There is always lots going on to keep her engaged. Happy Mum means happy Son. Team Beechwood, thank You!
Thank you for such a lovely review. I will be sure to pass this on to the team. We love having your mum with us at Beechwood and your family.
After I had viewed many care homes, I decided to place Mum in Beechwood Grove in early August 2018, she remained there until she, sadly, passed away in November 2023. During those five-plus years, I never felt I had made a mistake in my choice. The home was always spotlessly clean, the staff were friendly and enthusiastic. The menu is different each day, so the residents have plenty of varied meals. There is a schedule of entertainment each week, with outside entertainers and the home has its own minibus for outings. I never found Mum sitting alone in her room, she was always in the lounge socialising. During Mum's final days, the staff were kind and attentive to Mum and myself. Hence, I have no hesitation in recommending Beechwood Grove - keep up the good work.
Thank you for your lovely words about the team at Beechwood. We loved having your mum with us until she passed away.
Welcomed to a nice room on the ground floor. I had to ask how the toilet flushed! Very simple. Choice at every meal what to have. Activities every day, two in the morning and two in the afternoon. Attended at least one most days, I knew two of the residents so most days I visited one of them. On my 90th birthday, I was taken with a friend on the bus to a hotel for coffee and cake (a nice surprise) also had a cake made for me. All the staff are very helpful, Had help to shower and dress.
Thank you, Roger, for your kind words. We are glad you had a wonderful 90th birthday.
Hello, I’m blown away by your kindness. You made a horrible couple of months seem really ok. You took some of the pain and fed it the most sublime treats, and you drew closer around us, making sure we never felt alone or unseen in our grief. Thank you to everyone we came into contact with. Sending my very best wishes.
Thank you for your lovely words, it was a pleasure to know your family. I will be sure to pass them on to the team.
Beechwood Grove is a luxurious home-from-home. It is beautifully decorated and has relaxing outdoor areas. The food is delicious and our family have enjoyed having the opportunity to dine there as well.
Seeing my father socialising and participating in a well-planned range of activities (either in person, in photos, or through feedback from the care team) has been so encouraging. Many happy memories have been made here, that we will cherish.
I can’t recommend Beechwood Grove highly enough. Many thanks to every single member of the team.
Thank you for your lovely review. We absolutely loved having your dad stay with us here at Beechwood Grove.
My father has been in respite for the past four weeks and every moment he's spent there has been wonderful. Dad, and the family, have been made to feel welcome by everyone we've met and our regular visits to him have been a pleasure.
I genuinely feel sad that Dad's respite is coming to an end, as the transformation in him whilst being a resident, has been astonishing. I know that not only Dad, but the rest of the family too, will greatly miss seeing the staff, who have become friends. Nothing is ever too much trouble for them and each resident is treated with care, dignity, love and respect - with a nice dose of fun added in too for good measure, just perfect! All of this whilst living in truly beautiful surroundings. Beechwood Grove is the only care home I would ever recommend and use - it really is a wonderful place.
Thank you for your lovely review. We absolutely loved having your dad stay with us. You are all certainly part of the Beechwood Grove family.
Mum was only with Beechwood Grove for a short space of time but I know she got the best possible care while she was there. It was just like being at home for her, she was able to have pictures up in her room, and visitors were able to come as often as they wished, including the dog! The staff were all very considerate and caring, and clearly really loved their jobs. Nothing was too much trouble. It was definitely the right place for Mum in her final months, with arrangements being made very quickly when the need arose, as she was no longer able to live independently. You just got a good feeling about the home as soon as you walked through the door. I would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for the right place for their loved one as and when the need arises.
Thank you for your very kind words about the team here at Beechwood Grove and your experience with us. It was a pleasure to look after her whilst she was with us.
All staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful to our whole family and we couldn't have been more impressed with the professional attitude of all the staff we encountered at such a difficult time.
Thank you for your lovely words about the team at Beechwood Grove. I will be sure to pass them onto the team.
All the team members were attentive and caring. Nothing was too much trouble for my mother who was in respite and for us as a family.
The atmosphere was respectful and calm but at the same time uplifting.
Thank you for your lovely words, I will be sure to pass them on to the team.
Every single member of staff is amazing.
This really is the true meaning of Care Home.
I love visiting mum the home is always full of laughter.
Thank you for your lovely review and kind words. We are glad your mum decided to become a permanent resident here at Beechwood Grove.
What a lovely warm welcome we had when we arrived. We were made to feel part of the family. All staff are so friendly and can't do enough to help you. The range of activities is excellent, there is always something happening. Everywhere is extremely clean and the food is of a high standard and very tasty with plenty of choices.
Thank you for your lovely words, we are pleased that you are happy with life here at Beechwood Grove.
On arriving at Beechwood Grove care home, I was sad to leave my home but on arrival at the front desk of the care home, I was greeted very warmly by a carer who took me to my room where the sun powered through the large windows. Outside of which there was an interesting view. The room itself was full of bright colours. Each room had its own bathroom and it very quickly felt like home since I have been here. I am glad I came to Beechwood.
Thank you for your lovely review, we are very pleased you are happy to be residing at Beechwood Grove.
I have to award Beechwood a Gold star plus outstanding. From the beginning of our journey on the 25th of January when my sister and I visited we had high expectations and these have most definitely been exceeded, I can't praise the staff enough. From the client relationship team, receptionist, hospitality, catering, health care assistants, facilities and nursing staff they all have the same ethos, and that is to provide the best care and attention possible to not only the residents but also family members. They make you, and everyone they come into contact with their number one priority and nothing is too much trouble. My mother has complex needs and the nursing staff are always happy to give and share any updates and many occasions when I questioned something they have been knowledgeable and have always made sense, putting the residents first. We visited other homes but none came even close to the feeling that we had from our very first visit and that was hope and love. Thank you.
Thank you very much for your kind words. I will be sure to pass this review onto the whole team.
Also, the home was beautifully decorated, and the facilities were fantastic.
Thank you for your lovely words; I will be sure to pass them on to the team.
I am very happy living here. The staff are wonderful. I love the food. I am very happy with everything. I don't want to be anywhere else. No complaints and I love my room.
Thank you for your lovely comments. We are really pleased you are happy here at Beechwood Grove.
Beechwood Grove is very modern, light and inviting with very nice furnishings.
It really is a home from home and everyone seems very happy and content.
Thank you for your kind review. I will be sure to let the team know your positive words.
The care home is clean, bright and beautifully decorated. The rooms are comfortable and clean. My step-father enjoys the food and has a choice of quizzes and outings etc to do every day. The care staff are great! Very helpful and happy to chat. I'm so happy that he is being so well cared for here.
Thank you for your lovely words about Beechwood Grove. We are very pleased that your step-father is happy here at Beechwood Grove.
It has been such a relief to know that my friend is safe and extremely well cared for. He has complex conditions and is not easy to take care of.
Management has been so caring and mindful and their support has been more than amazing.
A big grateful shout-out also goes to all the carers and nursing staff. A big thanks to the 'handyman' for whom nothing is too much trouble.
And lastly, but by no means the least, the chefs in the kitchen too have been most kind and do great meals for my friend.
I also love the attitude and welcome I get when I come to visit from reception and all who see me.
Thank you, Beechwood Grove.
Please know I am happy to support you any time and in any way I can.
Thank you for all your lovely kind words about the team here at Beechwood Grove. I will be sure to pass them on to the team.
Any time I have come down from Scotland to visit my Aunt the home is very welcoming is always spotlessly clean. The staff are all very helpful and very pleasant. The rooms are first class and I know my auntie is very well taken care of, my mind is at rest.
Thank you for your lovely review. I will be sure to pass on all your feedback. I am pleased your Aunt is happy here at Beechwood Grove.
I am not an easy person to manage with many interrelated complicated medical conditions also a full-time electric wheelchair user. This home has been second to none that I have been in and I love the feel of it and the Staff supportiveness. Nothing has been too much trouble for them. The manager and Deputy are very approachable and keen to rectify any issues, not there have been any worth mentioning. The chef is brilliant and loved the fact they made a point of making me some gluten-free cakes. The welcome was wonderful with fresh flowers in the room and a little welcome pack. I am probably the youngest there at 66 but they have made me feel very welcome and would be most happy to stay here permanently or at their sister complex in Hastings. I have to be honest, I do not get involved with any activities apart from the smashing murder evening which was great fun and something that gets everyone laughing and talking with each other.
Thank you very much for the lovely review of Beechwood Grove. I will be sure to pass your feedback on to the team.

Meet the Team (4)

I started my working journey 30 years ago in the hotel & restaurant industry, I mastered the art of fine dining and hospitality management.
After 10 years I decided on a change and moved into the private care sector, where I have stayed for the last 20 years. During this time, I have worked in a variety of roles and most recently as Head of Hospitality. I have the belief that every single employee plays a huge role in the success of the home, so I feel that team work is a priority.
I have gained an in-depth knowledge of care home management and hope to be able to bring my skills to complement the established and excellent team at Beechwood Grove Care Home.
My biggest accomplishment was leading a team to win the coveted National Association of Care Catering Award for Care Establishment of the Year.
My favourite activity in my spare time is making memories with my family. We enjoy playing board games, going out for walks and cooking together on the BBQ! I also like to raise funds for charities close to me. I love to hold dinner parties for friends and family and I have a passion for collecting vintage red wine!

Born in Liverpool but moved to Sussex aged 2, Abi qualified as an Enrolled Nurse in 1985. She worked for 10 years in male and surgical wards at the William Harvey Hospital in Kent. She then moved to work with severely disabled adults within Social Services.
Following a time out to have her family, Abi returned to a nursing home environment and qualified as a Registered General Nurse in 1993. She furthered her role within the private sector working as a Senior Nurse and was instrumental in implementing the Gold Standard Framework within the home.
Abi then moved to be part of the nursing team involved in opening a new nursing home near Lewes.
Abi joined Beechwood Grove in 2018 as a Registered Nurse on the nursing unit and progressed to become Clinical Lead in 2019.
Abi has 3 children, a 4-year-old grandson, 3 dogs, 3 horses and 6 chickens, which take up most of her free time.

Before I joined Beechwood Grove, I had a range of roles, including driving double-deckers and bendy buses around Eastbourne and Brighton. I recently worked in the retirement sector as a property manager; the opportunity came to join the team at Beechwood Grove. In my spare time, I am a volunteer team leader for the local homeless charity, providing outreach sessions on the seafront in Eastbourne.
My role involves showcasing our beautiful home to potential new residents and their families, guiding them through their journey to join Beechwood Grove. I also work closely with the Head of Hospitality, showcasing events at Beechwood Grove on social media and being the editor of the internal newsletter, the Beechwood Bugle.

Hello, everyone! My name is Sean Collins, and I'm from Hertfordshire. I am currently the Head Chef at Beechwood Grove, Eastbourne. I studied catering and hospitality at college and have always worked in the hospitality industry. I feel passionate about people having a good experience when it comes to dining, and I am always looking for ways to improve what we offer. If I'm not at work, I can most likely be found walking my dog Marley with my wife Rachel and daughter Polly or in Friston forest on my mountain bike.
