Beechwood Grove Reviews (100)
Beechwood Grove has a Review Score of 9.9 (9.924) out of 10, based on 27 reviews in the last 2 years.
Over all time Beechwood Grove has 100 reviews.
My mother became a resident at Beechwood Grove Care Home in May 2019. It has taken her a long time to settle, but the care she has received has been absolutely fantastic. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff whether it be front of house, maintenance, catering or the wonderful care, Mum has been treated with respect and good humour, the latter being much appreciated by mum. I cannot thank everyone enough for their help over the past eight months.
Thank you so much for your lovely comments which I will pass back to the team.
My Mum has been a resident suffering from dementia since July 2019. The facilities and activities at Beechwood Grove are excellent. The resident's rooms and communal areas are very well presented. This is a modern, purpose-built care home, designed to give the best experience for residents and family alike. Our experience with the staff has been superb.
The environment is homely and caring and the accommodation is excellent. All the staff-the carers, admin, housekeeping and catering are warm, caring and professional. I can not fault any aspect of the accommodation or care.
Many thanks for taking the time to review us. I will pass this back to the team who are always keen for feedback.
Dad had to have respite care after fracturing his hip. The communication, care and respect have been outstanding during his 6-week stay and without the help of the staff, we would have had real trouble. The home is beautiful and nothing is too much trouble. Thank you all so much.
Thank you so much for your review and lovely comments, I will feed this back to the team. It's been a pleasure looking after Dad and we all wish him well for the future.
I am a 93 year old with mobility problems and appreciate that this home is close to our private residence. It was an obvious choice and could not be better. You are welcome to visit at any time of the day or evening. The accommodation could not be bettered. The warmth, comfort is excellent. Entertainment exercise and outings make it perfect for residents. The food and the care are second to none. The staff are caring and extremely friendly and considerate. I would recommend this care home to anyone who requires it.
I would also like to thank you for the delicious afternoon tea that you put on for the residents and families on Mothering Sunday. It was another good afternoon spent in good company.
Thank you for your lovely comments. It was so wonderful to see all of the family together and as a home, we felt privileged to be a part of the celebrations for such an amazing lady.
The quality of the staff was the key to the first class care given to my brother. It began at the entrance with the reception and then continued throughout the system to the delivery of expert and compassionate care of my brother. We could not have been more satisfied. Thank you all.
We are so pleased we were able to help with caring for your brother and to assist in his returning home . It was a pleasure to be a part of his recovery and to meet such a lovely family .
The staff are very friendly and welcoming always professional, constantly keeping us up to date with dad and his progress. Nothing is too much trouble and the residents are treated as individuals and are respected. We spent Christmas day with dad and other families in the same situation and they gave us a wonderful Christmas dinner and it was a wonderful day which we all loved especially dad. We can visit any time and due to my brother's work he goes late in the evening and I can bring my puppy to see dad which dad enjoys. The food is fabulous and tea and cake always on offer to the residents as well as the visitors! I come from a professional health background and the nursing care is of the highest standard and the GP visits weekly or more frequently if needed. There are daily activities and dad greatly enjoyed a band that played there recently, there are planned excursions and a lovely courtyard that can be sat in. The building is purpose built and beautifully decorated.
Thank you for your feedback and lovely comments regarding the home which we will pass onto the staff, without them we wouldn't be Beechwood Grove. It is so nice for us to welcome families into the home and this includes the gorgeous waggy tail varieties!
A beautiful place in a lovely setting. The staff are outstanding! So caring and helpful. We feel so lucky to have found such a wonderful home for our aunt.
Thank you so much for your lovely review of Beechwood Grove. It's so lovely to have your aunt here with us and to welcome new residents and their loved ones into the home.
My aunt was transferred from hospital, upon our request for palliative care. The care she received was outstanding for the short time she was with you. We would also like to say a big thank you to all the staff, the manager and the whole team for their kindness and support to us at this sad time.
We are truly grateful for your kind words. The whole team feel truly privileged to be have been able to offer the care, support and comfort at such a sad time.
Our mother stayed in this lovely care home for two weeks following an operation. Her room was bright, spacious and spotlessly clean. All the staff were extremely kind, caring and made her first stay in a care home a positive one.
Thank you for your lovely comments. We're so pleased mum enjoyed her stay and is recovering well back at home.
I find it very upsetting to see my Nan in the state that she was in. Overall very few staff members were around and when my Nan pressed her buzzer needing help going to the toilet we were told she'd have to wait as the staff were on a break. I'm frustrated at the amount nursing homes charge and what seems like very understaffed care particularly on weekends. This isn't the first weekend I have witnessed very low staff levels.
The residents are our elders who deserve respect and dignified care and I feel this is not being provided.
Thank you for your feedback, we welcome all feedback from residents and their families. We are very sorry for any issues that you have experienced. At Beechwood Grove we pride ourselves on delivering the highest quality care, delivered by staff that are trained to the highest standards, therefore...
As our mother was one of the first residents we feel the care and attention she is given has not changed since day one.
Thank you so much for your support and positive feedback. It is lovely to hear that our first residents and families feel so at home and that everyone feels part of our ever-growing Beechwood family!
My husband stayed a week and I went on holiday. I only saw him there on the first and last days so do not know how he got on with staff and other residents. His brother was also there so he had company. I was very impressed with the decor and the lounge rooms and the atmosphere was very good and the staff friendly.
We loved having the twins to stay and hope to see you all again soon.
Beechwood is a friendly, spotless home with all home comforts. The staff are very efficient, we are kept up to date with any changes in care or care needs. Staff are open and friendly, easy to approach when necessary.
There is a full activity timetable giving residents ample opportunity to mix with other residents. A good choice is offered on the menu with dietary requirements catered for. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Beechwood.
So pleased my mum came here.
Can't phone her a lot of the time because of the poor signal.
It is a beautiful, newly purpose-built building with outside garden and secure terrace with views.
Staff make an effort to keep her busy.
Doctor visits are frequent (if needed) and care appears good.
Messages do not always get through to staff from phone calls (eg visits and dinner orders).
Mum is happy most of the time.
Staff are friendly, including reception and housekeeping.
Lots of extra thought of.
My thanks to the staff.
The carers were always kind and a pleasure to know.
I shall miss them.
Beechwood House is a beautiful care home. My mother has settled well and is always happy during our visits. The home itself is extremely clean. The rooms are maintained to a very high standard and above all else, the care staff are amazing. Very professional and really 'care' about the residents. Keep up the good work and high standards.
From the minute you walk through the doors you are met by such a welcoming atmosphere. The hospitality shown to family members is amazing and we are never made to feel in the way.
The food is exceptional with a very varied menu and the activities are fun and enjoyable. Residents are encouraged to take part but never forced. My mum has certainly come out of her shell and it’s lovely to see.
I have worked in many care homes. Beechwood Grove surpasses them all.
Thank you, Lynn, for your lovely review. Kind regards, the Beechwood Grove team.

Meet the Team (4)

I started my working journey 30 years ago in the hotel & restaurant industry, I mastered the art of fine dining and hospitality management.
After 10 years I decided on a change and moved into the private care sector, where I have stayed for the last 20 years. During this time, I have worked in a variety of roles and most recently as Head of Hospitality. I have the belief that every single employee plays a huge role in the success of the home, so I feel that team work is a priority.
I have gained an in-depth knowledge of care home management and hope to be able to bring my skills to complement the established and excellent team at Beechwood Grove Care Home.
My biggest accomplishment was leading a team to win the coveted National Association of Care Catering Award for Care Establishment of the Year.
My favourite activity in my spare time is making memories with my family. We enjoy playing board games, going out for walks and cooking together on the BBQ! I also like to raise funds for charities close to me. I love to hold dinner parties for friends and family and I have a passion for collecting vintage red wine!

Born in Liverpool but moved to Sussex aged 2, Abi qualified as an Enrolled Nurse in 1985. She worked for 10 years in male and surgical wards at the William Harvey Hospital in Kent. She then moved to work with severely disabled adults within Social Services.
Following a time out to have her family, Abi returned to a nursing home environment and qualified as a Registered General Nurse in 1993. She furthered her role within the private sector working as a Senior Nurse and was instrumental in implementing the Gold Standard Framework within the home.
Abi then moved to be part of the nursing team involved in opening a new nursing home near Lewes.
Abi joined Beechwood Grove in 2018 as a Registered Nurse on the nursing unit and progressed to become Clinical Lead in 2019.
Abi has 3 children, a 4-year-old grandson, 3 dogs, 3 horses and 6 chickens, which take up most of her free time.

Before I joined Beechwood Grove, I had a range of roles, including driving double-deckers and bendy buses around Eastbourne and Brighton. I recently worked in the retirement sector as a property manager; the opportunity came to join the team at Beechwood Grove. In my spare time, I am a volunteer team leader for the local homeless charity, providing outreach sessions on the seafront in Eastbourne.
My role involves showcasing our beautiful home to potential new residents and their families, guiding them through their journey to join Beechwood Grove. I also work closely with the Head of Hospitality, showcasing events at Beechwood Grove on social media and being the editor of the internal newsletter, the Beechwood Bugle.

Hello, everyone! My name is Sean Collins, and I'm from Hertfordshire. I am currently the Head Chef at Beechwood Grove, Eastbourne. I studied catering and hospitality at college and have always worked in the hospitality industry. I feel passionate about people having a good experience when it comes to dining, and I am always looking for ways to improve what we offer. If I'm not at work, I can most likely be found walking my dog Marley with my wife Rachel and daughter Polly or in Friston forest on my mountain bike.
