Beechwood Grove has a Review Score of 9.9 (9.924) out of 10, based on 27 reviews in the last 2 years.
Over all time Beechwood Grove has 100 reviews.
My mum was resident at Beechwood Grove (nursing care) from January 2025, and during that time she received excellent care from everyone. There was no shortage of daily events she could take part in if she wished, nursing and other staff were always very helpful and kind, and helped to organise mum's 93rd birthday party in the separate residents' room, which she really enjoyed. I would have no hesitation in recommending Beechwood Grove to anyone looking for their relative to be happy and well looked after.
Thank you for your kind words about the team at Beechwood Grove. I have shared your thoughts with the team
Beechwood are, without doubt, one of the best care homes in Eastbourne, so much so that we have happily recommended clients to Beechwood. From the caring staff, super management, activities and beautiful surroundings, this home is just superb. Thank you for looking after our clients so very well!
Thank you for your lovely words, it is lovely to work with you all
My mother has been a resident at Beechwood Grove almost a year ago now and from the first moment she arrived she has extremely well cared for. Everyone from the housekeeping team, the carers, the nursing staff, catering team, lifestyle team, receptionists, to the management team have all been first class. Everyone is so professional, caring, kind and compassionate. There are lots of daily activities for her to do, including a weekly trip out which she loves. Her recent birthday was celebrated in style and again the staff made her feel so special on the day followed by a celebration buffet the day after. As a family we are very happy and can see that mum is thriving, it has given her a new lease of life! Would highly recommend to anyone looking for residential care for a loved one.
Thank you for your very kind words about all the team members at Beechwood Grove. We love that we can create special memories for you all.
It's hard to put into words how much it meant to see her treated with such dignity and warmth. There was a real sense of humanity in everything the staff did, and that made all the difference at a very difficult time.
The care here goes far beyond the clinical - it's thoughtful, personal and genuinely compassionate. We'll always be thankful for the support we received and will remember it with deep appreciation.
Thank you for your lovely words about the team at Beechwood Grove. It was blessing to meet you all.
The home is always warm and there is always a genuine friendly welcome from the lovely girls on reception, who also kindly book Mums wheelchair transport for us.
The minibus driver is amazing.
Special thanks to the team for their continuing sorting of Mums care and communication with me over any changes.
Hospitality staff are brilliant.
The carers on Ash are all loving to Mum.
Thanks to them all especially one member of the team in particular who understands Mum. Thanks to the night girl who baths Mum.
The member of staff who does the Residents laundry is a favourite too..
There are too many staff to mention all by names but this reviews big shout out is to the lifestyle team of girls who work relentlessly to organise constant activities for the residents, and who have provided a fantastic activity program for the whole of December.
Thank you Beechwood Grove.
Thank you for your lovely review of everyone at Beechwood Grove, we love having Mum, here's to more memories.
I appreciate it takes a lot of hard work and good will from the whole team, at every level, to make that happen throughout the home in terms of care, catering, nursing, lifestyles and domestic and maintenance services, and to keep it up 24 hours a day, every day. Everyone was brilliant.
My mum and I and wider family are really grateful.
Thank you for your lovely review of Beechwood Grove. Christmas is a truly magical time at the home and we all love working it. Your comments have been passed on to the team.
Every step of her journey has been shared with the family as they have ensured her comfort and care, meals have been top class, activities tailored to the residents daily and it is so clean and comfortable it is easy to settle in and feel 'at home'. Staff and residents are appreciated and this is reflected in the atmosphere which is so welcoming to everyone.
Sadly as is the nature of the beast our journey has now ended and I will miss visiting the home but finish with a heartfelt thank you for everything we have shared and the support you have given to us all.
Thank you for your lovely words about your experience at Beechwood Grove. It was an absolute pleasure to have met your mum and you and your family. You are all more than welcome to pop in for a cup of coffee if you are passing.
I became a resident here on the 26th of April. As a happily married couple, it was a hard decision but the gentle, loving and effective care that I have always received convinced us that we were making the right decision. The nursing care that I have received has always been practical, efficient and respectful. The lifestyle team have always been enthusiastic and encouraging but never forceful. The activities offered have been varied and appropriate but never imposed. I would be confident in recommending Beechwood Grove to any enquirer.
Thank you for your kind words about the team at Beechwood Grove, we love that you feel part of our community here at the home.
My 87-year-old mother, who has dementia, is a resident at Beechwood Grove. In December 2023, having visited an exhaustive list of care homes in Eastbourne, we realised that Beechwood Grove was simply in a different league. From the initial contact, the client relations manager and the general Manager guided us through the process of admitting Mum and reassuring us during what was a difficult time for all the family. All the team helped Mum settle in and have always treated her with respect and empathy - understanding her specific needs. The level of care, whether it be social, medical or personal, is exceptional and, as a family, we know that Mum could not be in better hands. The communication with us from the care team is outstanding and, whenever we call or visit, nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff. Mum's room and all the facilities/amenities are second to none, as is the choice of food. The range of 'lifestyle' activities available to residents is inspiring too.
Thank you for your very kind words about your experience from initial contact to the present day. We are glad you chose Beechwood for your mum.
This care home was excellent in the care for my ex-husband. He was very happy for the short time he was here before he passed away.
Thank you for your lovely words about the care that your ex-partner received here at Beechwood Grove.
Once Dad was in the care, time and attention that was lavished on my dad, I really couldn't have asked for more. I was constantly updated with any developments involving my dad and his general well-being.
Part of the reason Beechwood Grove was a consideration is that they came recommended to me as a place to view, which goes to show the care has been there throughout.
Also, one of the best-kept places I had visited.
Thank you for your lovely words about your experience of Beechwood Grove.
From our first enquiry to now, we have been so impressed with the way this home is run. It's clean, welcoming, and beautifully decorated, with activities aplenty, an on-site hairdresser, lovely bistro where you can sit with your loved one and enjoy coffee and cake. Mum has now been at Beechwood Grove for a few months and has settled in really well. All the staff are very kind, caring, compassionate and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble for this amazing team and we would highly recommend this lovely home.
Thank you for your lovely review of Beechwood Grove. We are really pleased that you enjoyed the experience that we presented at Beechwood Grove. We love having your mum with us.
The care she received was exceptional and the whole team worked very hard to make her stay comfortable and enjoyable. I would highly recommend Beechwood Grove for taking such good care of my mum.
Thank you for your lovely review and comments about the home. We are glad her stay was enjoyable.
I cannot find fault with any of the relevant ratings. The staff are all so kind and caring. The twice-daily three-course meals are imaginative and tasty, washed down with a glass of wine if decided. I've found a perfect home where I'm convinced I will be very happy to the end of my days. Beechwood Grove is like a five-star hotel, being waited on hand and foot but with genuine love and affection shown by all.
Thank you for your kind words. We are very pleased you have chosen Beechwood Grove.
I had been looking for a care home that could accommodate two (related) people with differing needs. From my first enquiry through to the admission, I cannot fault the service I have received. Going above and beyond doesn’t go anywhere near the efforts undertaken by a particular member of staff to ensure a successful move. She took the time to understand this particular situation and did everything possible to make their admission a reality. They both received a wonderful welcome from all the staff.
Thank you for your lovely comments about the admission process. We are pleased that we made the admission a reality.
Their positive and caring approach was such a breath of fresh air and we knew that our mother would be happy there.
She’s now been a resident for 3-4 months and I’m blown away by the way she is cared for. Every member of staff is friendly, approachable and supportive. The range of activities is so extensive and inclusive and my mum engages in all of it.
Thank you Beechwood for making the transition as smooth as it could be - forever grateful!
Thank you for such a lovely review about Beechwood Grove. We are glad your mum is enjoying her stay with us.
My mother has been a resident at Beechwood Grove for just over 3 months and I have been overwhelmed by the level of care and support she is receiving there! All members of staff have huge smiles on their faces and are incredibly friendly. The activities are excellent and so varied, and visitors are welcome to join in(I was sad to have missed out on the fudge tasting the other day!). My mother has dementia so often can’t remember what she has been doing but thanks to a brilliantly run social media page I can remind her and show her pictures of her partaking in all the activities! The café in the reception area does great bean-to-cup coffee and there are always fresh baked treats and other snacks to munch on. It makes a great area for you to spend time with your resident relatives/friends. I really cannot recommend this place enough! Thank you Beechwood for being so amazing!
Thank you for your lovely review. We are very pleased that your Mum and you are enjoying the activities! We are also glad you enjoy the treats on offer at the bistro.
Warm, welcoming and very caring staff to residents and visitors alike.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We love having you come to visit us.

Meet the Team (4)

I started my working journey 30 years ago in the hotel & restaurant industry, I mastered the art of fine dining and hospitality management.
After 10 years I decided on a change and moved into the private care sector, where I have stayed for the last 20 years. During this time, I have worked in a variety of roles and most recently as Head of Hospitality. I have the belief that every single employee plays a huge role in the success of the home, so I feel that team work is a priority.
I have gained an in-depth knowledge of care home management and hope to be able to bring my skills to complement the established and excellent team at Beechwood Grove Care Home.
My biggest accomplishment was leading a team to win the coveted National Association of Care Catering Award for Care Establishment of the Year.
My favourite activity in my spare time is making memories with my family. We enjoy playing board games, going out for walks and cooking together on the BBQ! I also like to raise funds for charities close to me. I love to hold dinner parties for friends and family and I have a passion for collecting vintage red wine!

Born in Liverpool but moved to Sussex aged 2, Abi qualified as an Enrolled Nurse in 1985. She worked for 10 years in male and surgical wards at the William Harvey Hospital in Kent. She then moved to work with severely disabled adults within Social Services.
Following a time out to have her family, Abi returned to a nursing home environment and qualified as a Registered General Nurse in 1993. She furthered her role within the private sector working as a Senior Nurse and was instrumental in implementing the Gold Standard Framework within the home.
Abi then moved to be part of the nursing team involved in opening a new nursing home near Lewes.
Abi joined Beechwood Grove in 2018 as a Registered Nurse on the nursing unit and progressed to become Clinical Lead in 2019.
Abi has 3 children, a 4-year-old grandson, 3 dogs, 3 horses and 6 chickens, which take up most of her free time.

Before I joined Beechwood Grove, I had a range of roles, including driving double-deckers and bendy buses around Eastbourne and Brighton. I recently worked in the retirement sector as a property manager; the opportunity came to join the team at Beechwood Grove. In my spare time, I am a volunteer team leader for the local homeless charity, providing outreach sessions on the seafront in Eastbourne.
My role involves showcasing our beautiful home to potential new residents and their families, guiding them through their journey to join Beechwood Grove. I also work closely with the Head of Hospitality, showcasing events at Beechwood Grove on social media and being the editor of the internal newsletter, the Beechwood Bugle.

Hello, everyone! My name is Sean Collins, and I'm from Hertfordshire. I am currently the Head Chef at Beechwood Grove, Eastbourne. I studied catering and hospitality at college and have always worked in the hospitality industry. I feel passionate about people having a good experience when it comes to dining, and I am always looking for ways to improve what we offer. If I'm not at work, I can most likely be found walking my dog Marley with my wife Rachel and daughter Polly or in Friston forest on my mountain bike.
