Ian joined Oakland Care in April '26, having worked extensively across multiple social care sectors. Ian has spent time with many of the country's most well-regarded luxury senior care providers, both on a permanent basis and through contracting assignments.

Having made the switch from running a successful property business to senior care, Ian has spent 18 years helping families ease the stress of their transition into care homes and coaching teams to do the same. He emphasises a deep level of understanding and empathy as the key drivers of success, believing that commercial success can only follow compassion and consideration.

I’ve worked in health and social care for over 20 years now, I started as a Care Assistant and quickly knew I was on the right career path. With 8 years management experience, I’ve previously been employed as an Assisted Living Manager, Deputy Manager, Area Manager and Registered Manager for multiple supported living sites. I’m passionate about providing the highest quality care, and enjoy this most when working with other dedicated team members, who are also motivated to improve the lives of others. When not at work I enjoy a variety of activities and can often be found enjoying some sort of sea or land-based adventure.
