My dad has been in the care home for over four years. From the beginning, he settled in very quickly, mainly due to the friendly staff. He has always been treated with dignity and respect. The staff are lovely and always make time to chat to him. The care home is always clean and tidy and the facilities
are good, e.g. the bistro, hairdresser, etc. For myself and my siblings it is like a second home.

The nurse Ionela, who looks after my friend, is always very attentive and caring. She treats her with great respect and patience and always takes the time to listen to her concerns. Whenever a difficult situation arises, we know we can rely on her support - she has helped my acquaintance many times
with her health issues and emotional needs.
All workers are on the second floor, and managers of the care home are very professional and deeply grateful for their support and commitment.

This care home is always clean; the staff are always extremely friendly and welcoming; there are always lots of activities going on; all the residents seem happy and engaged and this is generally a nice place to visit. I feel confident that my friend is being properly cared for and that their needs
are being met. They are contented and get on well with all the staff and residents that they interact with. I visit at different times of the day and in the evenings and have always found this to be an excellent
place.

My father has been at Elsyng House for nearly 4 years now. Throughout that time the home has been exceptional.

The home itself is welcoming, well maintained and immaculately clean. It is a modern home with a lovely garden. They also provide a wide range of activities which residents can take part

in if they choose and they are always coming up with new things for the residents to do.

But it is the team who really make this home exceptional. All the staff are warm, welcoming and accommodating. And many of them have been there for a long time. The care Dad has received has been excellent. I really can't thank them enough. I would particularly like to thank Joanna, Prayas and Gayan who care for my Dad and the other residents so well - professionally but always with warmth and empathy. They will always go out of their way to help. And Margaret on reception always welcomes you with a smile.

My mother has been a resident of Elsyng House for over a year now and has been extremely well cared for throughout her stay. The staff are caring, dedicated and very professional and they are always extremely accommodating when the family visit. I am kept informed about the activities my mother is undertaking
and just recently I was invited to have dinner with her at the care home which was a wonderful experience for both of us. All three courses were absolutely delicious and the staff on hand attended very well to my mum's needs during the meal. All in all, I am most grateful to all the staff for taking such great care of her during her stay.

The whole team on the ground floor, including Joanna the ground floor manager have been exceptional in providing care for my mother.
They are all very caring and give time when needed. Joanna especially took a great deal of time to look after my mother and coordinate the medical and care staff to
provide reassurance.

I would like to express how happy I am with Ionella, the nurse who helps look after my father, Kyriacos. She is warm, helpful and attentive. Ionella is always on hand with any needs. My dad always goes to Ionella if he feels unwell, as he feels she is approachable and helpful. The second floor would
not be the same without her.

My mother has been in Elsyng House now for a few months. I cannot thank all the staff enough for the care they give my mother whose behaviour has become challenging due to her dementia.
There are always plenty of staff to support the residents and there is always a cleaner on duty (the care home is
exceptional clean and does not smell).
There are daily activities and trips.
I am always able to contact staff members with any questions.
There is a lovely garden that my Mum enjoys sitting in.
Maybe providing some homemade cakes or sandwiches might be nice, especially when visitors spend time with their family members in the communal area.

The decision to move Mum into a care home was incredibly difficult but the moment we stepped into Elsyng we knew it was the right place. A year on, we've never looked back.

The home is warm and welcoming. The reception area has a beautifully decorated Bistro where residents and families can mix,

creating a genuine sense of community. We've made some meaningful friendships there. Mum lives on the Memory floor and the décor is tasteful and homely, especially in the lounges. Everywhere is spotless.

What truly makes Elsyng special is the staff. Mum's carers are compassionate and take a real interest in her. They chat with us about her routine and what she's been up to. All staff (from reception and hospitality to housekeeping and maintenance) are friendly, approachable, and caring. We enjoy following Elsyng's social media updates and love seeing Mum taking part in activities like trips to Forty Hall.

Thank you, Elsyng, for providing Mum with a safe, loving home where she can truly thrive.

My darling mum has moved into Elsyng after a very long battle with Parkinson's. The Elsyng staff couldn't have made it easier they are so warm and welcoming. Special shout out to Camala who is Mums main carer as she has one to one and Jericho, Edwin and Angela who are all so supportive and kind. They
treat mum with dignity and respect. Camala is interested in our mum and takes time to listen to her and engage with her. She is so kind and supportive. All the staff are gentle which reassures me.

My husband has only been in Elsyng House for ten days but I can already see that it is a good place for him. He is well looked after, his clothes are clean and he looks content. The staff are amazing. They are friendly and attentive. They seem to be everywhere, keeping their eye on the residents

My mum came to Elsyng House for rehab after a serious fall that broke her spine and neck. From day one, the staff were incredibly kind, caring, and always greeted us with warm smiles. The home feels more like a 5-star hotel-cozy rooms, a beautiful garden, and thoughtful touches like teas, coffees, and
biscuits for visitors. Entertainment is offered for residents, and the staff clearly enjoy joining in too. The atmosphere is uplifting and full of compassion. Thanks to their care, my mum's stay was a positive experience during a tough time. She's now home, but we'll definitely be visiting again to see the lovely staff and friends she made. I can't thank Elsyng House enough, it's a shining example of what care should look like.

Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
My relation was warmly welcomed by staff and has since been well cared for.
The facilities are new and therefore of a high standard and it generally appears more like a hotel than a care home.
The dining rooms have been attractively furnished and the service is welcoming.
Meals are varied and a good
standard of catering.
Any issues raised are listened to, but not always resolved and the management structure is not readily advertised for reference, to enable a satisfactory solution.
Visitors are welcomed, the coffee machine well used and appreciated!
Activities are varied which attract a number of residents, and other various ideas could be considered.
Good facilities are provided in the garden which encourages residents to sit outside.
Perhaps residents could be involved in the choice and care of the planting, as a stimulation for them?

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.814)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.814) out of 10 for Elsyng House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 47 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 47 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.814 for Elsyng House is calculated as follows: ( (454 Excellents x 5) + (88 Goods x 4) + (7 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 549 Ratings = 4.814
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Elsyng House is based on 47 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 76 registered maximum number of service users is 15.2, which has been reached with 47 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
