Our father moved into Elsyng House after two months in hospital, he was on palliative care. His treatment by management, carers and all members of staff was kind, gentle, patient and understanding. Dad was a proud man and tried hard to maintain his dignity whilst being confined to bed, many carers and
hospitality staff went that extra mile to make sure that his pride was maintained, taking an interest in his past achievements and encouraging him to participate where possible in the day to day plans and activities. The staff at Elsyng House were not only caring towards our dad but also to our mum, my sister and myself who between us visited Dad every day until he passed away this January. When Dad passed away, everything was done to ensure a peaceful, tranquil and calm morning for us all as we spent a while with Dad to say our goodbyes. I recommend Elsyng House to anyone who needs provision of care in a Care Home.
Reply from Julie Chanel, Client Relations Manager at Elsyng HouseThank you so much for taking the time to review our home. We were so sorry to lose dad and we miss him and all the family.
Best wishes to you all and thanks again.

My mum went to Elsyng House for a respite last year whistle I was on holiday. When I returned mum decided she wanted to stay as she had made friends and released she could not cope on her own anymore. I can't praise the staff enough for their care and attention, not only to my mum but to all the residents
there.

The rooms are very spacious and very well decorated. This home is a 5-star residential place I would not want to move mum anywhere else.

My husband has just spent two weeks in respite care while I underwent an operation; this is the second time I have had to use the care home. I have no complaints whatsoever about the care he received. The staff are so caring and attentive to their resident's needs, and every request is met with a smile.
Nothing is too much trouble.

My father is a resident of Elsyng House; he moved into the care home in January this year. He has settled now and is happy with the care he receives from all the staff. In my opinion, looking at other care homes in the area, this one seemed so much nicer and does not feel like a care home. The rooms
are lovely, and the lounges and bistro are also excellent. I believe we made the right choice as a family.
Reply from Julie Chanel, Client Relations Manager at Elsyng HouseThank you very much for your kind review. Were glad dad is happy. Elsyng House is an exceptional home with fresh food, activities seven days a week, on-site GP appointments, fantastic staff, high staff ratios and much more. These things are important to us and make us stand out. There are cheaper homes in the area, of course, but we pride ourselves on the quality of service, which is why we are one of the top 20 care homes in London.
We, too, are glad you picked Elsyng House; we love having Dad with us.

My mother became a resident at Elsyng House in December 2022.
My mother has never been so happy. The standard of care she receives is so much better than I could have wished for. The staff have shown such warmth and care towards her, and all the worries I had regarding her going into long-term care
have disappeared.
Her diet is the best it has been, and her physical care she receives is done with empathy and care and is tailored to her individual needs. I am so happy I found Elsyng's House for her.

My mum went into Elsyng care home at the end of November - we are so grateful that she is in such a loving home the staff are amazing and caring. Mum has found it difficult leaving her flat but the staff make it feel like home - we are always made welcome when we visit and have peace of mind that our
mum is being cared for. Thank you to all the staff you are the best.

My husband moved to Elsyng House in December 2022 from another care home in Sussex. The first few days were difficult for him and for his family as he started to adjust to a new environment, but the staff were respectful of his wish to stay in his room while encouraging him to have his lunch in the
dining room and participate in activities. They were so brilliant, kind and mindful of his needs, dislikes and likes that he’s now adapted really well to his new home, making friends and taking part in the floor’s life. His medical needs are fully met, with care and attention from the carers. The staff at Elsyng, at all levels, are what makes this care home so special: a caring, efficient, professional and clean environment where my husband can spend his remaining time feeling understood and valued as a human being. Families are kept informed both on an individual basis and through family meetings for all relatives, run by the general manager. An excellent care home.

My father spent just over a year at Elsyng House, towards the end he was admitted to hospital for several weeks, but thankfully was able to return to Elsyng for his final week where he was moved to a higher dependency floor and he got the fantastic, attentive care that he become used to there.
I went
and saw him in his new room, I was so impressed by the way that all his belongings have been transferred to the new room and his pictures hung in exactly the same place as they had been in his previous room.

He said to me that he was overwhelmed by how much people were willing to do for him. The contrast between being back home and being in hospital is like night and day, and it's obvious that he appreciates it. it shows that we definitely made the right choice in choosing Elsyng for last year as he has that feeling of familiarity and care.

Thank you

My father moved to Elsyng House in March 2022 straight from the hospital. It was a very traumatic time for the family as it meant my mum also moved into a different care home (different requirements).
The staff were all very friendly/courteous and respectful of both my father and ourselves. My father
had many health issues and he was treated with far better care than he received in the hospital, so the little quality of life he had was always maximised. The hygiene and decor standards are exceptional as you would expect from a new building but have also been very well thought through to encourage good communication and conversation around the cafe by reception. A special mention to one member of staff who, however low we felt, always had a very cheery smile and greeting for us. My father passed away in December but he died with dignity, which was his one request. Thank you all at Elsyng House!

My mum came in for respite after selling her house, and while the flat she is buying is refurbished. She came in exhausted - she now looks ten years younger! I cannot express my deepest gratitude to the team at Elysing Care Home. My father was there for a very short amount of time due to his medical condition; however, the team supported his care at an exceptional level. They were very attentive and caring and went over and beyond their call of duty from
management to the carers. The home is extremely clean, tidy and modern and offers a variety of fantastic tasty food options. I cannot recommend them enough, and they are very deserving of all awards! I wish you and the team the very best future.

I stayed at Elsyng House for respite care after leaving hospital. It was a perfect 'home from home' for a comfortable, safe and friendly stay with the support I needed in the early stages of recovering from major surgery. From my first visit, assessment meeting and throughout my stay, the kindness of
the staff and respect for residents' needs, likes and dislikes shone through. My room and communal areas were comfortable and cheerful. Meals are freshly prepared, nutritious and tasty with a good choice. The spacious bistro and garden are lovely places to chat with other residents and staff, entertain guests or enjoy quiet time alone, helped along by fresh baked cake daily. I didn't always feel up to joining the daily activity programme but enjoyed those that I went to and the conversations the activities prompted afterwards. The friendship and kindness shown by residents to each other was lovely to experience. The quality of care shown by all staff is excellent. A 5* home.

Since my mum has been at Elsyng House, both she and I have been consistently impressed by the kindness shown towards her and the other residents by all the staff. On the occasion of her recent birthday, the hospitality team really excelled themselves, providing a delicious and beautifully laid out afternoon
tea. In addition, there was a pretty, decorated birthday cake, a lovely bouquet of flowers, cards and a thoughtful gift. So much thought and care had been put into making everything appropriate to my mum's tastes and preferences, and the team were so warm and friendly. It was a lovely event, with excellent cake, and very much appreciated.

Mum became a resident at Elsyng in July this year, straight from hospital, and she has now settled in. The facilities at Elsyng are excellent: luxurious accomodation and lots of activities for residents to participate in. For example, a few months ago a fabulous garden party was held with an Elvis impersonator
- the buffet was a real feast. The staff-to-resident ratio is high. Staff are friendly and helpful.

My mother moved to Elsyng House in August 2022. First impressions always speak louder than words and from the first contact with the home, I was hugely impressed. When visiting the care home, the Client Relations Manager was professional and was sympathetic with my mum's care needs. We arranged for
Mum to have lunch and spend the afternoon in the care home as ultimately it was her decision whether she wanted to move from her current home. Mum moved in a few weeks later, and following a three-week stay in hospital, she has settled in very well. The staff are very attentive, professional and caring towards my mother and always have time to have a chat with relatives when visiting. Mum adores my dog and fortunately, he is allowed to visit, following a risk assessment taking place - the other residents seem to like him too! Activities take place on a daily basis and all residents are encouraged to participate.

Settling into a care home is a big adjustment for the resident and family. I was really pleased the staff at Elsyng House respected Dad's initial wishes to have his meals in his room, but also continued to invite him to the dining room if he wished to. Now he's more settled, he often takes up the invitation,
as well as enjoying some of the activities and events on offer. It's great that the care home organises singers, visits from local schoolchildren etc to keep residents in touch with the outside world. Dad has built up friendly relationships with certain carers in particular, and his skin (which requires medical care) is well looked after by the carers. The facilities at the home are lovely and my children enjoy visiting and sitting in the garden with their grandad. Dad is on a soft food diet but he really enjoys the food at the care home and I have noticed how beautifully presented it is, so it looks very appetising despite consistency requirements. I am very glad we chose Elsyng House.

Very happy and relieved with the care Mum is getting, knowing she is clean, comfortable and safe is such a weight off my brother's and my shoulders. My father moved to Elsyng House in August 2021, following increasing difficulties caring for him at home (after a diagnosis of dementia). The change in circumstances was sudden, and our knowledge of the care system was minimal, so it was not an easy time for us or for him. From the first viewing, Elsyng
stood out from the other options we looked at, and the team have provided an excellent service, notwithstanding the enormous difficulties of the COVID era. Most importantly, Dad knows that he is safer and better cared for than was possible in his family home. A care home is not what he would choose in an ideal world, but he knows we are a long way from that, and he is settled at Elsyng and well looked after. For us, his family, what stands out are the people who work at the home, and the care and attention that go into looking after each resident as an individual. Standards are high, and the care is very professional, but there is a warmth in the team that makes all the difference.

My mother has been a resident for nearly three months now, I am pleased to say she is very happy there, and as a result, her health and well-being are so much better. My first interaction was with the client relation manager that took her time going through the services and facilities with me and my
sister, followed by a tour. I am happy to say what I was told by her is actually the case. The establishment is clean and tidy with very friendly interactive staff. The residents appear to be happy and there is a wide range of activities to keep them occupied and amused. My mother is very well catered for here. If you are considering residential care for one of your loved ones, my advice would be to take a look, I think you will be impressed.

(1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 76 registered maximum number of service users is 15.2, which has been reached with 47 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

I have worked in Health and Social Care for over 20 years in various positions, from HCA to Activities Organiser, Nurse to Clinical Lead and Deputy Manager. I have supported Care Homes for over 9 years and previously worked in Leisure and HR. My role is to effectively manage the occupancy levels of our Essex and North London care homes and build positive relationships with residents, families and external contacts in the community.

I work closely with the marketing department and our lifestyles teams to ensure our services are promoted to reflect the excellent care and support we provide. The residents are our extended family who we love to nurture and share daily life with whilst keeping them safe and well. I’m always delighted to meet new families and support their journey.
