We have experienced the highest standard of care from our mum's carers. They have been kind, attentive, positive and have constantly provided a high quality of care to her. I cannot point to any deficiencies (apart from the limitations brought about by Covid measures we fully support). We know our mother
is safe and well cared for.
Reply from Julie Chanel, Client Relations Manager at Elsyng HouseThank you very much for your kind review, which will be passed on to the care team. Mum is a delight to care for and be around. Safety of our residents is really important to us, thank you for your understanding. Best wishes.

From the first visit with the client relations manager at the care home - we have never looked back. I couldn’t wish for a better care home for my lovely dad, who suffers from Vascular Dementia. The staff are so lovely and really care about not only my dad but us too. Dad took a little time to adjust
as would any new member, and now I can tell when we visit that he now classes Elsyng as his home, which is all one would ever wish for. The activities coordinator is exceptional at organising daily activities from virtual Paris trips to tea parties. Thank you, Elsyng House for taking such good care of my dad.
Reply from Julie Chanel, Client Relations Manager at Elsyng HouseThank you so much for taking the time to review our lovely home. Dad is a much-loved member of the Oakland family and a pleasure to care for. We really appreciate your kind comments.

My mother was first in, in this new purpose-built home. She has a lovely ensuite room. She settled in very quickly and went from sitting at home with very little stimulation to having a new lease of life. There is a lovely garden, a cinema room, with a large screen, and louder volume, which she loves.
She is also eating much better and enjoys the food very much.
We recently celebrated our mothers 100th birthday and had a gorgeous tea in a Covid safe environment. The home is always immaculately clean, and the staff are friendly and kind. If my mother wants to go to bed, then they put her to bed, so she can do whatever she pleases, although they encourage her to be up and dressed every day. Our mother is a new person and is now enjoying life, where previously, she had almost given up.
Reply from Julie Chanel, Client Relations Manager at Elsyng HouseThank you so much for taking the time to review us. Mum is a delight to have around. The photos of her two birthday parties are amazing; she looked so happy. We are really pleased that you feel so positive about mum's home. Thanks again.

I am absolutely delighted that my mother’s new home is at Elsyng House: it is an outstanding care home. I have been so impressed at the care, kindness, compassion and professionalism shown by all the staff that I’ve had contact with, coupled with the superb surroundings, facilities and activities. All
the staff seems to be aware of my mother’s fears/dislikes/likes which are so important for her well-being. The staff have gone to so much trouble to help my mother settle in: their care for her is superb. The welcome given to my mother was personalised and pitched just perfectly for her. It enabled my mother to enter Elsyng without anxiety, despite her reservations. Every aspect of Elsyng has made me feel so grateful that my mother is at such a wonderful care home.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My friend entered Elsyng House for a three-week trial stay as a resident who needed some help with daily tasks - but who is not requiring memory or nursing support. As a newly opened care home, Elsyng House has few residents at present and thus there was very little stimulus to engage the mind during
the daytime - except for TV and occasional conversations with staff and visitors. However, the food is very good. Staff very friendly and helpful. As yet, friend is not able to be placed in her chosen room.
Reply from Julie Chanel, Client Relations Manager at Elsyng HouseThank you for taking the time to write a review. We are delighted with our new care home, but as you describe, at the beginning in a newly built home, there aren't many residents. By the time your friend comes back, there will be a few more, so hopefully there will be some other interesting people to chat to and more going on. We look forward to your future visits.

Our Mum (and Nan) has dementia and came to a time when she required increased care that we couldn't effectively give her at home. It was with heavy hearts and nervousness that we looked at local residential care homes. We chose Elsyng House (Enfield) and are so pleased we did – from initial contact
through to her placement/moving in, the sympathetic and compassionate service we received has been brilliant. Mum/Nan settled immediately and showed no signs of agitation that we feared she would - she looks forward to her regular visit to the onsite hairdresser. We can visit and phone her easily and cannot praise all the staff high enough that we have come into contact with. A big thank you to Elsyng House.
Reply from Julie Chanel, Client Relations Manager at Elsyng HouseThank you For your lovely review, it is very kind of you to write such positive feedback which will be shared with the team. We love having mum with us. Kind regards, Julie

My mother has just moved into Elysing House Care Home and the whole process has been very personal, professional and sensitive. The procedures for admission were very person-centered and all the staff have a lovely manner with both my mother and family members making us feel reassured that we have made
the best decision. Her room is lovely and we have been able to provide familiar pictures and personal effects that are important to her. In her first few days, she has eaten more than she has done for quite some time, enjoying the beautifully presented meals that feature foods that she loves. This is because the chef has taken the time to find out what she likes. The procedures to ensure that the residents are kept safe during the COVID pandemic are extremely robust and very reassuring. As a nominated visitor, I am now able to book a time to visit mum in her room once I have had two clear lateral flow tests. PPE is provided by the home. This has been lovely.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.828)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.828) out of 10 for Elsyng House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 52 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 52 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.828 for Elsyng House is calculated as follows: ( (513 Excellents x 5) + (91 Goods x 4) + (7 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 611 Ratings = 4.828
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Elsyng House is based on 52 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 76 registered maximum number of service users is 15.2, which has been reached with 52 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
