My precious mum was sadly failed by the care home that she had been in for two years. She ended up in A+E with broken ribs having had the last fall of 26 in one year! The consultant has given her up to 3 months to live. She has no communication skills because she has end stage dementia. On being discharged from hospital she is now in a nursing home getting the care that she rightly deserves. This place puts the previous home to shame in every aspect of what it is to be a 'CARE' home. The staff are extraordinary in their kindness and humanity. They work together like a large extended family. I can't praise this place enough.

It took mum a short while to settle, but with the help and support from everyone at the home, mum is more settled. The staff, including receptionists, entertainment staff, managers and carers, have gotten to know all the residents and they are all treated with respect, dignity, kindness and patience. The home is spotlessly clean and well-maintained. Communication with family is good, we are kept informed, and I feel able to ask any questions. Thanks for the compassion you show every day.

My mother needed support following a hospital stay which then turned into a permanent requirement.
Hastings Court was by far my first choice, after my wife and I looked at various rooms we picked a very nice one with a pleasant outlook.
The staff have been brilliant with my mother and although it took her a while to leave her room initially she is now fully participating in loads of activities organised by the wonderful entertainment team.
My mother has little appetite but the kitchen team go out of their way to provide her with nutritious meal (off menu sometimes).

My mother's health has significantly improved with the care Hastings Court have provided her.

I visited Hastings Court to see my partners Nana. It was honestly such a welcoming, clean and relaxing environment. It's truly the best care home I have ever visited and to me it felt more like a home away from home for the residents as opposed to a care home! I particularly loved how there is always activities going to keep residents occupied and happy but they're not the sort of activities you'd find normally at a care home, they have live singers and Quizzes and so much more- it's truly amazing! I also love how if the residents don't want to partake in the activities they don't have to! As well as all of the above, I loved the entrance area that mimics a bistro- it's lovely for residents to sit there but also a lovely setting for family and friends to spend time with their loved ones that brings back a feeling of normality to what can sometimes be a really difficult adjustment for all involved.

I can honestly say we've been really happy with Hastings Court.
From the start, the team made us feel welcome. We had a tour with the Customer Relations Manager Sara who was very patient with us, answered all our questions, and clearly knew the residents and staff really well, which gave us a lot of confidence.
The home itself has a warm, friendly feel to it rather than being clinical. It's always clean and well kept, and there's a nice atmosphere when you walk in. My grandparent has settled in well and seems genuinely happy, which is the most important thing for us as a family.
We've been really impressed with the activities on offer - there always seems to be something going on to keep everyone engaged - and the food has been great too, which makes a big difference day to day.

It's also reassuring to know that the home provides both residential and nursing care which most of the other homes we viewed didn't have Nursing care.

My brother has dementia and has been looked after in Hastings Court for over 3 years. He has always received wonderful care here from here from the very beginning. Every time I come to say I'm planning to come, I immediately get the sense that the first person I speak to knows him & welcomes my visit together with my wife. On his floor, I always ask how he is both physically & mentally & know immediately that they are not only looking after him but care for him as a person. They are all simply marvellous & provide him with great comfort.

It was necessary for my husband to have some respite care. He wasn't keen to go into care - even for a short while. However, having spent 2 weeks at Hastings Court, he is a complete convert. He was treated exceptionally well by all. The manager is outstanding and clearly ensures that her staff are well trained.
There is such a warm and friendly atmosphere. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to enjoy the food, but what I saw during my visit looked fresh and appetising.

Well done, Hastings Court.

This is the second time my mum has stayed at Hastings Court for respite. Mum was happy and socialised with other clients, and engaged in the activities which are appropriate for her age. Food and hygiene was of top hotel standards. All care was given by warm, friendly staff. It was good to know Mum was in a safe and homely environment.

I want to be clear: this isn't about every carer at Hastings Court. Some genuinely try. The real problem is the management, who run this place like a business first, with care coming a distant second. My father's experience exposed serious failings - inconsistent basic care, poor monitoring, long waits for help, and constant contradictions when we raised concerns. As soon as his needs became slightly more complex, the tone changed and it felt like they wanted him gone rather than supported.

What's even more concerning is their online behavior: I tried sharing honest feedback on a social media platform, but Hastings Court deletes negative comments and reviews, giving families a false sense of security. The glossy marketing hides a very different reality.

If you're considering this home, look beyond the curated image - our family's experience was deeply distressing, cumulated into a safeguarding case with the LA which is documented with the CQC.

I wouldn't want anyone else to go through the same,

Hastings Court, provided to my Auntie, Anastasia, the best and friendliest care possible over a sadly, too short but very difficult time! I cannot recommend this nursing home highly enough. I could go on but it is honestly unnecessary, Hastings court are first class in every department!

Hastings Court was my aunt's final and most definitely the most luxurious home she had. The care, the love, the kindness she received was just superb. As her niece, I was also very well cared for and carers, nurses, everyone were so kind. My only regret was that she wasn't at Hastings Court earlier. Thank you all so very much.

Turned up today to visit my friend who is a resident at the home. I was welcomed to the home by the reception team who offered refreshments on my arrival.
My friend then got brought down to me in the bistro area where we were both invited to join in with the quiz which was about to start in an adjoining room.
To my amazement the quiz was really good fun and all the residents there were obviously having a really good afternoon and were waited on with nothing being too much trouble.
I then took my friend back up to his room which was a lovely room nice, bright, clean and fresh. Every member of staff who we passed in the corridor said hello and we were again asked if I would like any drinks or snacks from a lady with a really impressive tea trolly.
The visit to this home completely astonished me and my opinions on the card home industry.

Absolutely amazing place.

Our experience has been totally positive. Staff to staff-to-resident ratio is high. There is a great diversity of carers who all show kindness, love and interest. The food is homemade and excellent. The nursing staff are knowledgeable and experienced. The administration is not complicated, and it is clear. The entertainment is relevant to the residents.

Excellent care home. I highly recommend. My mum has been a resident at Hastings Court for a year and a half now. During this time, all of the staff have gone above and beyond with all aspects of her care. She is treated with respect and dignity at all times, and nothing is too much trouble.
The entertainment is superb, and a lot of effort goes into making each day a happy one from the lifestyles team.

The manager and maintenance team have made sure that my mum's room is a home from home, which is lovely and much appreciated. I am made to feel very welcome with every visit I make to see my mum and by all the staff! Thank you!

My first job in the care sector started 30 years ago, and despite exploring other career choices, I have always returned to doing what I love the most. I have been part of the Hastings Court family since 2015, and I feel extremely proud to be a member of the management team in such a fabulous home.

I feel incredibly passionate about our residents receiving the best possible care during their time with us, and all of our team members go above and beyond every day to ensure that this happens.

Seeing our residents doing the things that they love is such a treat for us all, from days out fishing, trips to the theatre or just a walk around the Old Town browsing through the antique shops, it’s sometimes the little things that count the most.

I enjoy the daily interaction I have with residents and staff. I feel proud to be able to support the team in helping them achieve their goals and create the best environment for our residents to live in. My job is so varied and that's what I love about it! I support not only the home in general with all aspects of home care, plumbing, décor etc but help residents and their families to personalise their rooms.
Lately, I have been very involved with the commissioning of a new Oakland care home, whilst my very capable assistant, George, looks after Hastings Court.

I count myself as being so lucky to work in an environment where we are all one big family.
