I never normally leave reviews but I felt this is absolutely justified. My grandmother was moved into Hastings Court in January (she was at end of life) for the short time of her being there, the staff were overly amazing and made sure everything was in place. I couldn't have asked for better staff/carers
to help with her needs, nothing was too much trouble. Whenever I visited the room was always clean and you can tell she had been cared for beautifully, not once did I ever walk in and have to question anything. Communication was spot on and always very fast. Visiting was a breeze and make so accessible.
A massive thank you to every single staff member there who helped with no questions asked. You have all been amazing.

I write with my sincere thanks, and as a testimony to all the staff at Hastings Court for their care of my Mother in the few months she was with them. My 87 year old Mother had lived in her own home quite independently for some time but after an accident was admitted to hospital where it was sadly decided
she could not return home.
From my very first contact with staff at Hastings Court I was impressed by the standard set: from secure entry, with guest linked to residents, to Covid testing adherence before entry. The reception area was welcoming and frankly unexpectedly lovely. The staff are exceptional in my opinion.
When my Mother arrived they were kind enough to arrange some pictures hung on the wall for her so her room was personalised with pictures, ornaments and flowers As my Mother became more frail and her needs changed the nursing staff were really impressive. Nurses were exceptional when they contacted me as her health deteriorated. Thank you all

My mother stayed at Hastings Court for four months. The food was appalling; mum frequently said, "they must be going broke because the food was atrocious". My mother had the mental capacity to tell people what she needed; she frequently sent me photos of the food she was given. She declined food as
it was unsuitable for someone with her medical condition. She is pescatarian and for the first month was served meat. My mother requested to see a doctor, and I also asked this on her behalf, but this never happened. The deputy manager was adamant a doctor had seen her, but I later became aware he looked at her from a door but had not talked to her. I visited my mother to find her in severe pain, so I took her to A&E. She was found to be constipated and needed three blood transfusions. It should never have happened. Some of the carers were nice but others made my mother "feel like rubbish".

Moved to Hastings Court five weeks ago from another residential care home due to increasing health needs. From the minute I came in the front door everyone has been so friendly and caring. Days go very quickly as there are so many different activities on offer including lunch at the local pub! Thank

This was a respite care stay for my husband. The administration of the stay was very efficient. Staff spent time settling my husband. They got to know him personally and offered appropriate care and activities. Food was very good and reflected his dietary needs. Family visitors were warmly welcomed.

The care my mother has received in just her first six weeks has been second to none. They have helped her settle, nursed her when poorly, reassured her, made her laugh, look beautiful, and most of all feel safe. My Dad spent 10 terrible weeks in hospital and it was such a relief for the whole family when he was welcomed into the 'oasis' of Hastings Court. When I came here I couldn't walk but with help and encouragement, I can now walk with a 4 wheel walker. I also suffered from depression but carers encouraged me to get up, should and start living again. I would recommend it to anyone I know.

Three days after a complete knee replacement, I arrived at Hastings Court to start a long period of discovery. The nursing staff took good care of the supply of my pain killers. Exercises were done under the direction of a physiotherapist at the hospital. Life at Hastings Court was made enjoyable with
a comfortable bed, good food and a variety of entertainment. The friendly but professional behaviour of all the staff was a great help to one on my path to recovery. Thank you.

This was my mum's second stay at Hastings Court, for respite care pre and post a hip replacement operation. We are so glad that we found Hastings Court as it was such a wonderful, clean, very warm and caring, and safe place for mum to have stayed during this difficult time for her. The facilities are
lovely, the food is excellent and the management and staff are all amazing. There are also so many great added extras from the hairdressing to the varied and interesting entertainments and events. We would most certainly recommend Hastings Court and our sincere thanks to everyone there for the care given to our mum.

My Mother was taken to Hastings Court for respite care in January. We have been very impressed with the love and care she has received. The staff are all brilliant and all very kind. Even when in lock down they could not do enough to keep us informed and speak to Mum by phone.
I would definitely recommend
Hastings Court, it feels warm and safe and the food is excellent. There is even a hairdressers and chiropodist available and lots of events to entertain the residents.

My first job in the care sector started 30 years ago and despite exploring other career choices I have always returned to doing what I love the most. I have been part of the Hastings Court family since 2015 and I feel extremely proud to be a member of the management team in such a fabulous home.


I feel incredibly passionate about our residents receiving the best possible care during their time with us and all of our team members go above and beyond every day to ensure that this happens.


Seeing our residents doing the things that they love is such a treat for us all, from days out fishing, trips to the theatre or just a walk around the Old Town browsing through the antique shops, it’s sometimes the little things that count the most.

I started at Hastings Court in 2015. Before this, I worked in a small charity-run home for adults with learning disabilities for eight years. I started as a part-time Care Assistant whilst at college to study for my level 5 in Health and Social Care. I have progressed from Care Assistant to Team Leader, then Community Lead, and I am now deputy manager at Hastings Court. I love my job at Hastings Court. I enjoy the daily interaction I have with residents and staff. I feel proud to be able to support the team in helping them achieve their goals and create the best environment for our residents to live in. In my spare time, I play netball and love watching my son play football.
