I went to view the home looking for a placement for my mother.
It's not the first home I've looked at but have to say by far the best I've come across so far.
Chris the manager was lovely, couldn't do enough to help.
I looked around, went into the dining area and witnessed lunch time activities
going on, again impressed by what I saw.
The home was clean and tidy, the staff welcomed me and appeared lovely and very friendly and caring. Some residents that were in their rooms appeared happy and comfortable. Have to say the feel good feeling won it over for me.

My nan was unwell at Wexham and had to be moved into a care home, we met with Chris and his team and was shown around the beautiful property, Chris went out of his way to get nan into the home quickly due to my Granddad being end of life. He moved them into a room together closely so they could see
eachother often. The care + staff is the best we could wish for with updates and brilliant communication. My nan is very happy.

My mother has been at Denham Manor for the past 10 years. Initially she required little care but as her dementia has developed the care received at Denham Manor has been exemplary.
More recently under the management of Chris, a more community feel has developed whereby relatives views are taken into
consideration. With more regular relative and resident meetings it ensures the residents are at the centre of everything they do. Relatives are informed and encouraged to join in activities with their loved ones. For me this is so important as I can continue to make memories with my mum when I appreciate she now barely recognises me.
The local community such as local groups, charities and schools are encouraged to interact with the residents bringing variety into the home.

We moved my father into the home in the summer of 2025 after looking extensively at other homes for him. He has vascular dementia but is still able to engage in activities and we felt that the home would be able to meet his needs. Family members can visit the home at any time. They have a large lounge
and coffee area which family and visitors can use. The garden is large, the parking is ample and the house and grounds are very pleasant. Chris and the deputy manager Katrina are really helpful and quickly respond to any queries which is much appreciated. The nursing staff have been meticulous with my father's medication. I have found the care to be delivered in a person-centred manner for example, my father who is catholic likes to watch mass and the staff kindly ensure that he can watch this daily streaming this from his old church. We are confident that the staff will continue to work with us to ensure dad's health care needs continue to be met in the future.

We are so glad he in this home because from day one he has been cared for thoroughly and professionally from both the management and all the carers.
It's very reassuring to no this and there is always carers or management who genuinely
care for his well being and making him as comfortable as possible.

Denham Manor have provided great care to my Godmother over a period of nearly two years. Katrina was so welcoming at our initial appointment and answered all our questions that we didn't look at any other homes for her as it just felt right. Our Godmother likened her room to one in a posh hotel and
constantly said how lucky she was to live somewhere so lovely and safe. As she had dementia we wanted her to live as worry-free as possible and all the staff at the home provided the safe and caring haven she needed after a month spent in a frantic local hospital ward. Sadly, she passed away just before Christmas but during that time the staff keep us well informed between visits and ensured she was cared for with dignity and compassion.

My 85-year-old father, who has vascular dementia, has been living at Denham Manor Nursing Home since August. Thanks to the exceptional leadership team and dedicated staff, he settled in far more quickly than we ever expected.
From our very first visit, the home felt calm, cosy, and genuinely welcoming.
We can visit at any time, and every member of staff greets us warmly. There's a full programme of daily activities, along with seasonal events that residents can take part in and enjoy.
The team is professional, proactive, and truly committed to residents' wellbeing. They've built strong relationships with both residents and their families. The carers are consistently kind and compassionate, always taking the time to connect with my father, and the nurses respond promptly to any medical concerns.
Denham Manor feels warm and homely, and knowing he's in the right place gives me real peace of mind.

My mother received excellent care during her final months.

The carers were kind, patient and responsive and I had the impression that the care was tailored to her particular needs.

Unfortunately she was not up to taking part in many of the activities but I do know that she enjoyed the visits from

the school children as well as some of the celebrations Denham Manor organised to mark the 80th anniversary of VE Day.

During spring and summer this year I was able to take my mother on walks in her wheelchair around the lovely grounds. The memory of those walks and some of the conversations we had will stay with me for ever. More importantly I believe they were appreciated by her and I hope made the challenges she faced more bearable.

Thank you to all the staff who looked after her

My 95 year old mother, with dementia, has been in the truly exceptional care of Denham Manor Nursing Home for just over three years. The outstanding leadership team are professional, proactive and genuinely dedicated. The team are actively involved and have established warm relationships with their residents,
families and the wider community.

The wonderful carers are consistently friendly and compassionate. They take the time to engage with her and I know she feels valued and uplifted. What is so special, is the fact, that the same carers have looked after her over the years. When I visit my mother I am always greeted with a welcoming smile. This applies to all the staff: cleaners, administrators, nurses, and food and drinks team etc.

The nurses are equally impressive and are quick to address my mother's medical problems.
The environment is lively with lots of activities. DM. is a happy and homely place.
Every visit has felt incredibly reassuring which gives me peace of mind.

Both of my grandparents are now at Denham Manor.
We first got in contact with Chris the Manager he was so helpful and understood our needs and even came up to the hospital to view my grandfather within 30minutes of our call.
After visiting denham manor the staff couldn't be more helpful and friendly
and made myself my wife and grandparents much more comfortable. The home itself is beautiful with bright comfortable rooms and a hotel feel for residents.
My grandparents are even in opposite rooms where they can visit and keep each other company whenever they feel.
Can't thank Chris and his deputy Katrina & Team for all their help.

Denham Manor is providing excellent supportive and safe care for my father since he arrived in the Summer. The experience of moving my father in for initial respite and the smooth transition into a permanent place for him has been seamless. The staff are all long term, incredibly supportive to his
needs and work with a person-centred approach to looking after him. The environment is one of a home with comfortable, beautiful rooms and an amazing garden. The staff work tirelessly to ensure that the residents are all well cared for and I often see them making a huge effort on birthdays and organising lots of events for people to participate in, should they wish. Denham Manor sparkles with cleanliness and my father enjoys a special coffee from the machine available in their beautiful lounge. The manager and assistant manager are very approachable and I trust that my father is being cared for.

Denham Manor provided outstanding nursing care and support for my mother from March to July 2025. When she first arrived it was at short notice and she had a lovely dual aspect room.
The care she received was at all times personalised, attentive and friendly.
What is particularly noticeable is the
friendly atmosphere in the home and how all the team there go out of their way to maintain this aspect of the home environment.
The home itself is a lovely old house, well maintained and has a beautiful garden which my mother was able to enjoy in the lovely summer weather.
Whilst my mother didn't feel inclined to participate in too many activities she particularly enjoyed the VE day event put on by the home and whenever the school children visited.
A big thank you to all the team at the home for all their support and care right up to the end.

Another respite stay for Mum at Denham Manor and longer than before and Mum was welcomed back like a dear friend on arrival and, when the time came, on her departure a fond farewell was received from staff and residents alike.
The good weather the UK had during her stay probably made no difference
to her experience but it did mean she could be taken around the lovely garden and enjoy time outside with the carers and residents. It was pleasing to hear she had taken part in a variety of activities the home put on and interacted with the residents and also school children who visited the home a couple of times while she was there.
The lovely homely atmosphere one always gets when you visit was commented upon by a friend who kindly popped in to see Mum. She, too, was made welcome and was impressed with everything she saw.
As ever, Mum enjoyed the selection and range of food and the care and respect she received from all the staff - from top to bottom - was much appreciated. Thank you All.

(1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 53 registered maximum number of service users is 10.6, which has been reached with 45 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2023

I have been a Registered Nurse for 33 years and after I finished working as a NHS Staff Nurse/Charge Nurse, I started a service called Hospital at Home at Watford General Hospital over 25 years ago.

This service looks after people in their homes or dedicated nursing homes and is still going strong today.

I have held various senior roles including Chief Operation Officer, Head of Care and Operations and Company Director for large and smaller care home operators.

My days are very varied and as a Manager of a very busy care home, I am responsible for the day to day management ensuring the best possible care for those living in our community. With the experience I have, I ensure I share this knowledge with my team in order to deliver great care.

The most joy I get from my role is seeing our residents enjoy meaningful engagement and seeing our team enjoying their roles in caring for our residents. I believe we give all we can with compassion and love. I am proud to say my team have shown me they both care and love.

My biggest achievement is my family. I have been married to Lesley for 33 years and have two amazing daughters, Rachel and Daisy, as well as two wonderful grandsons Archie and Charlie. We also have 3 dogs, Cissy, Lolly and Bubbles who are very much part of the family.

I love working in the care industry and feel privileged to look after those who need care. I live in Rickmansworth, which although classified as being in Hertfordshire is only 5 miles away. I love this area, as there is so much greenery and beautiful walks to do. I am a keen gardener and nature photographer. I am a huge Manchester United fan, having been born in Stockport, Manchester and still play football at my tender age! Family are massively important to me and I pass those values onto my staff.
