Denham Manor Nursing Home is a beautiful old manor house, steeped in history, situated within three acres of landscaped grounds in the village of Denham, providing specialist nursing and dementia care for up to 44 elderly residents, including trial stays, short stays, convalescent care and long-term care for individuals or couples.

Overlooking the stunning local countryside, Denham Manor has retained many of its original features and richness to create a charismatic, charming and welcoming atmosphere. The home consists of bright, spacious rooms including a large lounge and relaxing conservatory.

The home sits within close proximity to Denham Golf Club, Denham Yachting Club, Denham Country Park and Denham Airfield; a small private field for light aircraft and helicopters. A diverse and varied activities provision arranged by a Wellbeing Coordinator ensures every day is different for residents at Denham.

Specialist training allows the team at Denham Manor to fully support residents living with dementia, meeting both their care and wellbeing needs. It also allows the catering team to provide an improved dining experience for residents living with dementia and/or dysphagia.

Since my dad came into the Denham Manor Care Home in May this year we have seen a complete transformation in his health and mental well-being. All of the staff here are so professional, but more importantly friendly, and compassionate, in extremely difficult circumstances. As a family member it has
been humbling to be treated like one of your own for the first time in ages, my dad is happy and enjoying his life. Thank you so much, everyone.

Mum was transferred to Denham Manor for end-of-life care following a large stroke. From the moment she arrived, we were all made to feel comfortable, and there was never a time that we felt, that due to what we all knew would be a short stay for her, she wasn’t given as much care as anyone else.
At
what has been the most difficult time for us all, nothing was too much effort. The whole team took time to check on us, offer us tea and biscuits, and even sit and chat with us when mum was asleep, which shows the way in which they are dedicated to the care of the residents and families. As a senior nurse myself I would like to say that the entire team are a credit to the caring profession. We will never forget what everyone had done for mum to make her last few weeks comfortable and as best as they could be. This is a memory that will remain with us throughout the rest of our lives.

Denham Manor was able to take my mother into respite care at a few hour's notice. We found the staff to be very caring and helpful. The Manager was excellent throughout Mum's stay. Nothing was too much trouble. I would highly recommend Denham Manor for your loved ones.

Looking for a care home? Look no further than Denham Manor, my father-in-law came out of hospital and was temporarily placed in a local care home, we had no experience about care homes so we thought it was ok then after a month we received a call my father-in-law on the move! Wow! On arrival I was offered
a drink and a viewing like you were buying the place and was given a choice of 3 rooms by assistant manager.
My father-in-law moved in and what an improvement in his health, the staff are brilliant caring dedicated people and nothing was ever too much trouble, the management is top draw, always on hand to talk to you about any concerns, when the time came we as a family were well looked after, my wife and brother-in-law and partner spent the last 72 hours alongside my father in law until he passed peacefully and were looked after by everyone as if we were family, that's the word! Family! Thank you Denham Manor.

Dad was moved to Denham Manor for end-of-life care in December last year, after spending 2-months at Wexham Park Hospital. His passing, just before the New Year, was the saddest time for us all but was made that much easier with the excellent care provided for Dad, as well as the family, when he was
moved to Denham Manor, where we were able to be with him up until he sadly passed away. We are so grateful to the manager and the team for making us feel so welcome and for the kindness and professionalism afforded to Dad in the two or so weeks he was with them; such dignity and compassion shown for his complex needs, which were overlain by advanced Parkinsons. It gave us such relief and comfort to know he was in excellent hands, and we would be more than happy to recommend Denham Manor, in its beautiful garden setting, which Dad was lucky enough to have a room overlooking. Thank you.

The care, compassion and love shown by all the nursing staff was exemplary. It was truly a beautiful time spent at Denham Manor for my mum who had end-of-life care.
We cannot thank the whole team enough for everything they did, not just for my mum but for the family as well, helping us through the

Denham Manor is an impressive building with beautiful grounds.
My mother arrived at Denham Manor following a number of hospital admissions throughout the summer. On arrival, she was smiling but frail and quite diminished following long periods spent in bed. Denham Manor got to work straight away.

Mum has now settled in and made some friends. They share meal times together, watch TV
and take part in activities to help keep their cogency, fine motor skills and well-being as good as they can be. When I visit, I’m always greeted with genuine warmth - staff know my name and always seem happy to make time for me.
The Denham Manor staff are clearly a ‘listening team’, and this gives me confidence.
So now Mum and I are getting back to what we used to do before she was unwell.
We just relax, enjoy each other’s company, reminisce and talk about all the things there are to look forward to and be glad about.
Denham Manor understands this.

My mum moved into Denham Manor in March - the staff are all truly wonderful. Professional, caring and compassionate - they have gone out of their way to settle her in, even doing one-to-one activities in her own room when she doesn’t want to join in the group sessions. Nothing is too much trouble. The
atmosphere is always warm and friendly. They put on regular events which families are always encouraged to attend, including themed afternoon tea parties. The food is excellent, with lovely homemade cakes each afternoon. Last weekend they helped to get Mum to her grandson's wedding, including painting her nails and getting her hair done. One of the nurses accompanied her and looked after her beautifully. I get regular updates about Mum’s health, and am always consulted if any issues crop up. I have total confidence in the staff who are so friendly and welcoming whenever I visit. I know she is being well looked after which gives me great peace of mind.

Denham Manor welcomed my partner with open arms and not only made him comfortable but me also, emphasised anything he needs to make the room more personal then they will hang pictures, erect television stands and fix televisions onto these. They would hang pictures and change the furniture around. The
staff are exceptional, every single member of their team, and I think this has to be the reason I rate the nursing home with such affection. I feel my partner is safe there and any issues I have had with my partner's health, the nurses listen to me and never think I am worrying them unduly, they always say they are there to listen to any concern no matter how small it may be. Reception staff, admin staff and management are always available to speak to. All carers without exception are just marvellous, caring, and efficient. The bedroom and building are kept beautifully clean and my partner's clothes are washed daily and returned nicely folded. Beautifully kept gardens as well.

We chose Denham Manor after viewing five nursing homes in the area. From our first visit, we knew this was the one best suited for our mother and we are delighted to say Denham Manor has lived up to our expectations. The management and the staff are just great. The facilities and the food are very good
indeed! Most importantly of all our mother is very happy. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for an excellent place for their loved ones.

All of the staff were very caring. My mother was at end-of-life here and got the best care and attention here.
The food was all home-cooked. They had regular entertainment, flower arranging classes.

My father spent the final year and a half of his life at Denham Manor and it was such a relief that he was cared for properly, compared to 4 visits he was having at home where he had to wait a long time for support upon raising an alarm. I have found all the staff at Denham Manor to be kind, respectful
and caring. My experience of the staff was that they listened and took notice when I had something to say about my father's care and they listened and supported my father despite his strong desire to want to pass away due to his frustration over his disabilities. The team were patient and understanding towards my father and I am extremely grateful for his time at Denham Manor, having the peace of mind that he was safe and cared for. Denham Manor is a welcoming place, with a warm and kind atmosphere due to the nurses, carers, maintenance and office staff's positive attitude and genuine care. Huge gratitude to everyone at Denham Manor.

My Grandad came to Denham Manor for respite care after a lengthy stay in hospital and also suffering the loss of our Grandmother. His progress since staying in Denham and the care he has received has made such a difference to his well-being and recovery and as a family, it has given us peace of mind
he is being well looked after. The staff really do care about their residents, and it shows when we come to visit. The care home is clean, has a wide range of facilities and activities for the residents and they make such an effort to make my grandad comfortable. A big Thankyou to all the staff who have made his transition from hospital to a temporary home a safe and welcoming one.

My 97-year-old mother and I had a wonderful time at the Christmas party on Saturday. All the staff are so passionate and caring towards the residents and couldn't do more to help and engage residents. They booked a wonderful singer and decorated the dining room beautifully. There was also a wonderful
selection of food and drink something for everyone. My mother really enjoyed the Christmas word search that was put out around the room.

My mother, who is 92 years old, is given excellent care and support. The staff are so friendly and caring. I always feel that my mother is in safe and patient hands. I am extremely impressed with the leadership team, who are truly passionate about the welfare and well-being of their residents. The home
manager has always demonstrated empathy, professionalism, commitment and a real concern for everyone in her charge. The kind, dedicated, caring family team makes Denham Manor care home so very special.

    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 53 registered maximum number of service users is 10.6, which has been reached with 28 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

I have been a Registered Nurse for 33 years and after I finished working as a NHS Staff Nurse/Charge Nurse, I started a service called Hospital at Home at Watford General Hospital over 25 years ago.


This service looks after people in their homes or dedicated nursing homes and is still going strong today.


I have held various senior roles including Chief Operation Officer, Head of Care and Operations and Company Director for large and smaller care home operators.


My days are very varied and as a Manager of a very busy care home, I am responsible for the day to day management ensuring the best possible care for those living in our community. With the experience I have, I ensure I share this knowledge with my team in order to deliver great care.


The most joy I get from my role is seeing our residents enjoy meaningful engagement and seeing our team enjoying their roles in caring for our residents. I believe we give all we can with compassion and love. I am proud to say my team have shown me they both care and love.


My biggest achievement is my family. I have been married to Lesley for 33 years and have two amazing daughters, Rachel and Daisy, as well as two wonderful grandsons Archie and Charlie. We also have 3 dogs, Cissy, Lolly and Bubbles who are very much part of the family.


I love working in the care industry and feel privileged to look after those who need care. I live in Rickmansworth, which although classified as being in Hertfordshire is only 5 miles away. I love this area, as there is so much greenery and beautiful walks to do. I am a keen gardener and nature photographer. I am a huge Manchester United fan, having been born in Stockport, Manchester and still play football at my tender age! Family are massively important to me and I pass those values onto my staff.
