My aunt moved into The Mayfield two months ago and the settling in period has gone very smoothly thanks to the kindness of the staff. Her room is always clean and fresh and is very well equipped and laid out with plenty of shelf space for photos and ornaments from home. I find the staff to be very attentive
and friendly. The food is especially good and hot drinks and snacks are readily available. I feel that the staff understand the importance of treating their residents with dignity and courtesy, helping them to maintain a level of independence which is very important. We are all extremely happy that she chose to come here.

Fabulous caring staff! Clean, tidy, excellent standard of maintenance. Friendly, supportive, welcoming with a warm and loving attitude that it is 'home' and not an institution!
When we've been worried about something and were uncertain "how to go about it", the advice and guidance and action have instantly
melted away any concerns, especially when dealing with outside agencies, as the staff are far more familiar with such things, and one doesn't feel alone. The dignity of all residents is paramount to the staff, and this is obvious to family and visitors alike.

After being treated in hospital following a fall, mum needed constant care and attention to get her confident and mobile again. The people at Mayfield were brilliant, with no fuss admission and the full time friendly care which she needed. Originally a short term admission, Mum liked being at Mayfield
so much that she decided to become a permanent resident, which is a testament to the wonderful staff and their friendly, caring attitude.

I visited my friend who is very settled and happy at The Mayfield Care Home. She has dementia which they have rooms upstairs for that are lovely. The place is just wonderful and my friend enjoys joining in all the different activities daily. The food looks delicious and I am always made welcome by the

My Mum moved into The Mayfield in Aug 2024. To leave her home and move into care home accommodation is very daunting but all the staff have gone out of their way to make The Mayfield her new 'home'. She loves the staff and whenever I visit she and they are laughing - she's made genuine friends and is
safe and secure. I'd recommend The Mayfield to my friends -

This was my first experience in The Mayfield, was staying for 2 weeks respite care after hospital. I was very pleased with everything I found there. I was particularly pleased with the helpfulness of the staff and the delicious food served.

Tobyn Dickinson

After a successful 15-year career in investment management, Tobyn moved into care in 2020 to pursue his passion for improving the lives of the elderly. This involved co-founding Elmfield Care, a luxury care home provider that commissioned two homes in Wiltshire. In 2022, he started Cromwell Care, another luxury care home provider that opened The Mayfield Care Home in Whitby in March 2023. Tobyn is passionate about building a talented, caring team that is aligned with The Mayfield’s values and focused on providing the very best care and hospitality to our residents.

Natalie began her journey in care at age 18, nearly 14 years ago and has experience in lots of areas including residential and dementia care. During that time Natalie has gained a broad range of skills and qualifications.
