She stayed at Montagu Hall previously on 3 occasions on respite but she is now in there as a permanent resident as her condition has deteriorated so much she was unable to live at home safely and receive the full time care she needs and deserves so in my opinion Montagu Hall was my go too as she'd always enjoyed it previously.
Putting her in residential care permanently was one of the hardest decisions but after seeing how she was today I absolutely know I made the right choice

My step mother has been a resident at Montagu Hall since May 2024. During that time she has been happy and more settled with excellent respectful care given throughout by very dedicated staff. She has liked the food her room, and has joined most of the events put on by the staff and external entertainers. From late June until her passing on 06/07/2025 the staff have gone 'above and beyond' in the close, attentive and thoughtful care given to my step mother, and also looked after myself, my wife and my niece whilst visiting her in her final days. We are very grateful and would recommend Montagu Hall to everyone!

Calls are always answered promptly and when I called on one occasion to ask the staff to charge dads mobile it was done promptly. My grandad moved into this care facility and was here for 1year he had several falls not all we was reported to us. Hospital admissions regular occurred again not always being notified on one occasion he had been back at the home for 2 days and all evidence of ambulance being in his room was still there. The rooms was lovely and spacious but not clean regularly. Over time we noticed that he became unkempt and had an odour and had to ask for this to be resolved on more than one occasion. The management are poor and not friendly at all as this was his final home but was made to feel unwelcome at times. There is activites happening with the home that don't cater for all residents and if going on an outing this is an extra cost. Unfortunately first impressions don't give the true reflection of the home and what you are getting all fur coats and no knickers as they say very disappointing experience for us as a family. Grandad always said the food was great but unseen as protected meal time.
We apologise that you feel that experience you received at Montagu Hall was not that of what we as an organisation strive to provide. We’ve all worked incredibly hard to develop a family atmosphere at Montagu Hall. I want to make sure that all residents and colleagues feel this is a kind, caring environment where they are supported and can thrive.
I have NVQs in end-of-life care and dementia care and am also a dementia friend. I also have a level five NVQ in adult social care. Being Home Manager means you need to be a good leader, and for me, a big part of that is being supportive and offering encouragement. It is important to be kind, understanding and patient too.I love seeing residents smile and I particularly enjoy first thing in the morning when there are lots of cheery ‘hellos’.
Our roles here make a real difference to people’s everyday lives, and that’s really rewarding. It was also really rewarding that this was recognised in our first CQC (Care Quality Commission) inspection, where we received an overall ‘outstanding’ rating. Our particular outstanding areas were in the ‘well-led’ and ‘caring’ categories, which is testament to all our hard work and commitment.
When I’m not at Montagu Hall, I enjoy walking my dog and also holidaying in my campervan.
