Pear Tree House Care Home is now home to my lovely 90-year-old mum, and as her daughter, seeing her reach this stage of her life is incredibly emotional. After caring for her myself for two and a half years, entrusting her care to others has been a huge step for me. All I want is for Mum to feel safe, loved, respected and treated with kindness and compassion. She deserves nothing less. I am deeply grateful to the staff who take the time to make her feel comfortable and cared for, and who understand how precious she is to her family and we cannot thank you all enough.

My relative has recently moved into this facility following a fall which broke his hip . He is not used to residential care but is being well looked after. He always looks clean, dressed and well cared for . Staff are attentive and kindly with him, offering him choices where appropriate so that he retains his sense of autonomy as he has capacity . Little things such as ensuring his hearing aids are put in without having to ask carers to do this really ensures my father in law can make the most of his visitors. Residents are given plenty of choice to select from a range of meals and activities are organised such as Royal afternoon Tea and trips out. Fabulous ! Thank you all

Overall it was very disappointing, considering she has been classed a a sexual predator after being found in a man's bed after 'wandering'. None of this information has been related to me by staff. I realise I have to report this and am now hoping to move her. As far as I can see she has had little or no care socially, has attended no events and is left to her own devices. Please tell me seeing this with my own eyes it is not the case.

My mum has stayed for respite periods of up to 8 weeks at a time (for roughly 2 years now) and she has always been well cared for and treated with respect. The rooms at The Pear Tree House are homely, modern and clean and have comfy beds, TVs, mini-fridge, ensuite bathroom and nice views of the garden. The premises are always kept clean and tidy and they have a lobby that resembles a hotel lobby. There are no unpleasant odours and it always smells fresh. The Pear Tree was decorated in a lovely fashion at Christmas which is fantastic for residents and relatives. There is a hair salon, small cinema and several lounges, garden rooms and dining areas. Food is lovely and residents have menus for breakfast, lunch and dinner and a snack menu which can be requested. The care home has good and easy access to GPs, chiropodists and opticians, so this is a major benefit. The home is also secure, so people can't leave or have access without staff permission. I feel very content for them to look after my mum.
The staff are also good at ensuring we are happy with his care and keep us informed of any changes.

Any health issues are dealt with immediately and we are kept well informed of any concerns. The facilities are excellent and the home is constantly being cleaned so it is spotless.
