This is a happy place, there is a calmness here with no pressure to get up or go back to your room - your life is as you would like it to be. The staff treat their residents with great care & respect & recognise when "things are amiss" before problems arise. Many experienced carers who are working well together. The food is good, laundry done & back quickly (what's not to love), there is a lot of space to keep people active & interesting, and extra rooms to explore. Garden room, tea room, cinema, hair salon. I am here 2 weeks' respite following major surgery. I am my husband's carer, so we both stayed.

Mother in law was a resident at Harbour Manor for 9 months before she died. She was welcomed and treated as an individual and became very fond of her 'regulars', who all had time to chat with her. She had become lonely and isolated at home and wanted 'looking after' in her 97th year. Her hearing loss made it tricky for her at times, but staff took time with her, and she thoroughly enjoyed her weekly hairdo and social activities. We enjoyed visiting and were always informed if anything happened.

My mother at 91 arrived at Harbour Manor after being discharged from hospital from receiving surgery for a broken hip.
Harbour Manor were presented with what I would describe as extremely challenging needs for my mum.
Two months on I'm delighted to say through their du diligence, exemplary care and outstanding empathy my mother is now enjoying her time at Harbour Manor.
They constantly go the extra mile including driving to Ipswich at 8pm on a Saturday evening to collect urgent medication.
The monthly activity calendar has something for everyone, check social media.
The management of the home headed by Maxine, who has created a real family unit of staff, all supportive, kind and in my view treating all residents with the individual care and support they need.

My mum had eight months in a previous care home that caused her so much distress, Harbour Manor has truly helped her and is teaching me to be her son again not her carer, this review is written with heartfelt thanks . Gary

At first, we loved everything about Harbour Manor; everyone seemed to love staying here, including my dad. but recently, they have let us down extremely badly. It may all look very nice and all the staff seem friendly and helpful, but it's the quality of care that is important..

There really are no down-sides to residence at Harbour Manor. My mother is safe here and very well looked after. The monitoring of her health etc is first rate and the staff can access records immediately in order to answer any concerns and respond accordingly. From a social point of view this is a place where the staff really do care for the residents, as well as providing plenty of activities to stimulate residents and include them in the community there. All good.

Harbour Manor is a beautiful care home. Spotlessly clean, staff are friendly and helpful and the residents seem very happy. it is light and airy and feels more like a hotel than a care home. Residents are given the opportunity to be involved in lots of activities, which helps pass the time. I would definitely recommend Harbour Manor.

The care my mother-in-law receives it second to none.

The staff are friendly and caring, always greet you with a warm welcome.

They have regular meetings for residents to listen to what they would like to do or if something can be changed to better fit their needs.

My friend and neighbour moved into Harbour Manor about two weeks ago and this is the first opportunity I have had to visit him. He has settled in nicely and is quite content with his life. The staff are so friendly and welcoming, and the building which I know is nigh on brand new, is immaculate and spotlessly clean.

Water jug not changed for 3 days. Same sticker was on saying Tuesday, still the same sticker on Friday. No towels left in ensuite.
Clothes missing not marked because the machine was broken. Dad not shaved daily. Dad was in for respite and ended up in hospital after 10 days.
No help when mum went to clear room of dad's things.
Not sure how good food was as not allowed to visit at meal times.

Mum only met home manager once and dad had been in the home 8 days.

Moving from your own home to a residential care home is a significant step in life. The Staff at Harbour Manor helped my Mother to realise both the necessity, and benefit of doing so. Their understanding, appreciation and sensitivity to my Mother's needs is a thoroughly positive experience. For my Mother, and all our family. We are very grateful for the level of care and attention provided by the staff, and the uplifting atmosphere created by them.

From the moment of first contact we were treated with the utmost kindness and consideration. There was no question we asked that went unanswered. All our concerns were addressed and laid to rest. We were assured that my mother would receive the very best of care appropriate to her needs and so it proved to be. I would say that all the staff there went beyond their job spec to make my mum comfortable and happy in her final days. My gratitude is very long lasting.

From the very first visit to Harbour Manor we were so impressed. The rooms are like hotel rooms with plenty of beautifully furnished day rooms for residents to relax in.
My mum moved in and hasn't been this happy and healthy in years.
The activities that are arranged are fantastic and although mum doesn't join in with all of them she thoroughly enjoys the ones she does, especially the trips out to garden centres and pubs!

The care she receives is wonderful. I cannot recommend Harbour Manor enough. We no longer feel guilty for mum having to go in to a care home as her life has improved in so many ways since moving to Harbour Manor. Thank you to everyone there for all they do.
