My family and myself arranged a few visits to local care homes in the rotherham area sid bailey been one of them, to be completely honest there was no comparison, it was like walking into a hotel. The staff were eager to show us round and we were more than presently surprised. The rooms were beautiful, the staff were so friendly and couldn't do enough for us. My dad has dementia so it was really important to us that we found a place that would with time feel like home, and that is what we found, friendly, smiley staff that made dad feel like he belonged. Dad enjoys company of people his own age, enjoys the cinema room, love the singers they have, there is always something to enjoy, food is amazing, what's not to love.

Sid Bailey what a beautiful place this is. My dad started here in respite care back in August but now it is his forever home. The staff do an absolute amazing job, tending to my dads needs every day. Nothing is too much for them they all give 110% . I can honestly say I would never choose anywhere else, its like 1 big family. Thank you to you all for everything you do you're such an amazing team!!

My mother was a resident from July 2024-Dec 2024 when she was asked to leave due to her challenging dementia behaviour. The home is lovely and clean but they cannot say that they are dementia friendly. They called me constantly complaining about my mum and called the ambulance numerous times as my mum was so wound up she had panic attacks. My mum has moved and is like a new woman where she is now. So much happier, no anxiety and they never call me complaining. Sid Bailey is a lovely care home but they cannot treat dementia patients with the patience and respect they deserve.

Dad had a lovely time, it was nice to see him join in various activities.
I was happy the staff came up instantly to give him a 'welcome back' hug.

Our requests for a room with a busy view have always been managed. (Dad doesn't see many people/outside from his bungalow window).

Reply from Amy Batchelor, Customer Relations Manager at Sid Bailey

Thank you for your wonderful review, We're so pleased to hear that your dad had a great time and enjoyed taking part in the activities. It's always wonderful to see him getting involved. Our team were delighted to welcome him back with a hug, he's very much part of the family here. We're also glad we could accommodate the room with a busy view. We will look forward to seeing you both again soon.

Everyone in the Sid Bailey have been excellent, from the receptionist, who was so welcoming and helpful to every carer that we came into contact with. They not only cared for our relative with respect and the utmost sympathy, and they also looked after all our relatives and us when we visited, offering drinks and anything we might need. They also kept us informed of our relatives condition.

We took my mother- in -law here for some respite care in June 2025 . She has clearly enjoyed the time she has spent saying she would return any time as the staff have treated her like a family member . Everyone of them have been so kind, friendly and thoroughly cared for her the entire time she stayed. The meals have been delicious and well presented. Her words were it's felt like being at home . The facilities are like a five star hotel and have been designed well for comfort and an homely feel.We cannot thank the staff and the residents enough for making her feel so welcome.

The experience for my mum is generally and often excellent, however on the occasions when they (staff) are not involved in responding to the needs of residents, when alerted by emergency bell, they should take time to talk to residents, especially those who have just joined the home.

My experience has been so positive every time I have visited my dad in the home. The care has been exemplary and nothing is too much trouble. All staff are wonderful. I love that all activities pursued are put on social media as I live in Morecambe and I can see what Dad is up to and see him smiling happy face.

My mum has been at Sid Bailey since May 24. She has dementia and has recently had a stroke which has meant that she now needs much more care than before. The home has been amazing at attending to all her needs. Nothing is too much trouble and my concerns are always answered. Her room is beautiful, the food is lovely and I couldn't wish for Mum to be in a better place. Mum is happy there. I would highly recommend it.

Very welcoming place. Clean, bright and cheerful. Happy and helpful staff. My friend's room is lovely if a little bit impersonal. She hasn't been there long so that could change as she settles in more. The food looked appetising, menu was displayed for everyone to see.

Unfortunately, my experience with this Care home when it comes to looking after residents with dementia, they have all the talk but do not actually know how to treat challenging behaviour. It's a shame because the home is lovely.

All of our team receive training relevant to the demographic of the residents we provide care for and in keeping with our core values. I went to see a resident with a friend and we were welcomed and knew where to go and find our friend. Once with her, we were impressed with the loveliness of the care home staff who were smiling, helpful and kind to our friend. We would have made a cuppa but a nurse there made us 3 one and biscuits. Our friend is adjusting of course and hopefully, she will settle and join in with activities and garden and go for a walk in nice weather. We left feeling reassured she was in a fabulous environment in a lovely room.

You only get one chance to make a good impression and it was my first visit and I was really impressed. Receptionist, helpful and friendly. The home is beautiful. I visited all nursing homes in our area and this is the first class but unfortunately, some people will not be able to afford the experience.

Victoria AlderJob Title:Home ManagerJoined: 2024

I began my career in the care sector while working in a care home kitchen during evenings after college. Despite pursuing a law degree at the University of Derby, my passion for making a difference in people's lives led me back to care, progressing from Care Assistant to Senior Care Assistant.

In 2016, I trained as a Care Home Assistant Practitioner, working alongside nurses and earning a nomination for an award. After five years as a Clinical/Care Auditor, I secured my first Registered Manager position.

Drawn by the values and high standards at Care UK, I became the General Manager of Sid Bailey, where I strive to create a home-away-from-home experience for residents.
