Residents at Alexandra House Enjoy a Bonfire Night

Residents, staff, and family members at Alexandra House Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, gathered together on 5th November to celebrate Bonfire Night in a warm and joyful way.

The Alexandra House team organised a cosy evening in the home’s garden, lighting the fire pit and serving delicious hot chocolate with whipped cream and toasted marshmallows. Residents enjoyed singing songs, chatting, and reminiscing about past Bonfire Nights as they sat under the clear night sky, listening to the distant sound of fireworks.

Residents and families shared their thoughts on the evening:

“What a wonderful night.” “It was a lovely night, I enjoy spending time in the garden.” “Thank you for a lovely night.”

The event came about after residents expressed in their monthly meeting that they would love to spend time outdoors around the fire pit. The team made sure to bring that wish to life, creating a wholesome and heartwarming experience for everyone.

The atmosphere was filled with love, happiness, and a real sense of family, as everyone joined in a cheerful singalong of “She’ll Be Coming Round the Mountain” while sipping their hot chocolates.
