All I can say is wow. The carers and nursing team are truly outstanding. Knowing my mum is receiving such compassionate, professional care has given me enormous peace of mind and taken a huge weight off my shoulders.
Having worked as a carer in a care home myself, I know what high standards of care look like, and I expect nothing less for my mum. The care she receives at Alexandra House is exactly the standard I always aimed to provide myself.

The staff work closely with us as a family to give Mum the best possible care, including respecting our wishes about spending time in communal spaces when activities are happening, even if she cannot fully engage.
The care home are experienced in providing care as residents' needs evolve - for example, they have adapted the food Mum receives as her Alzheimer's has progressed.
There is also a consistency in core staff, which gives us confidence in the consistency of care Mum receives - they know what is or isn't normal for Mum and respond accordingly. The staff are kind and caring and we appreciate the home they are giving to Mum.
I would highly recommend the home.

My sister has been a resident here for nearly 2 years. The staff who look after her have been nothing short of amazing. I came to Alexandra House for rehabilitation. Our mum was 100 years old on 12/1/25. The home absolutely gave my mum a day to remember. They put on a lovely buffet. They made her a beautiful cake that was delicious. They decorated her room and also the room that we were allowed to have just for her 100 birthday celebration with her family. All the staff made a big deal over her birthday, singing happy birthday to her. We cannot praise the management and all the staff enough for how they look after our mum. We would definitely recommend Alexandra Care Home. Thank you all again. From all her family. With much love to you all.

Meet the Team (4)

My journey in care began in 2009, when I started working as a Care Assistant at Runwood Homes – Alexandra House. In February 2010, I proudly achieved my registration as a qualified Registered General Nurse and continued to work at Alexandra House until 2012.
Since then, my career has taken me on a rewarding path into management, where I’ve held a variety of leadership roles within the care sector. Wanting to continue developing my skills and leadership abilities, I completed a Level 5 Diploma in Business Management and the My Home Life programme, alongside several other management trainings that have helped shape the way I lead and support my teams.
In 2025, I was delighted to return to Runwood Homes – Alexandra House as a Registered Manager. It feels like coming home to where my passion for care first began, and I’m committed to making a difference by maintaining the high standards and quality of care that inspired me at the very start of my journey.

I have been a receptionist at Alexandra House for 4 years. I really enjoy my role and all that goes with it. I enjoy seeing people every day; I like interacting with relatives and residents.
In my spare time, I am currently decorating my new flat, which I enjoy doing.

My name is Lee, I’ve been a Housekeeper at Alexandra House for 3 years. I was domestic staff for 1 year, and I was promoted by our home manager, who has supported me with settling into my current role. I enjoy my job and the people I work with.
In my spare time, I do my housework and walk my dogs.

Hello, my name is Judith, and I am the Deputy Manager here at Alexandra House. I bring over 12 years of experience in caring for elderly people, including those living with dementia. I began my journey at Alexandra House as a care assistant in 2012 and have worked my way up through various roles to become Deputy Manager.
I truly enjoy collaborating with our team to deliver the highest quality, person-centred care to all our residents. Every aspect of my role brings me joy, as it allows me to make a meaningful difference in their lives.
In my spare time, I am an active member of my church, where I also sing in the choir.
