My mother has been a resident of Braywood Gardens for the last four years. She has advanced dementia and is bed bound. A detailed care plan is in place and she is also on a specialised diet. The majority of staff are really friendly and react well to any issues raised. Cleanliness is well maintained
and it always feels like a safe environment for the residents. Overall, I am very pleased with the level of care given and feel confident that any issues that arise will be dealt with promptly.

Leawood Manor

from J W (Son of Resident) published on 12 June 2026
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 1.0 out of 5
October 2024, your nursing home was complicit in hiding mum's location from myself and my wife, as my sister had our mother admitted without my knowledge. After a month of investigation we were 99% sure that mum now resided at Leawood Manor, but still your Manager denied this. This behaviour destroyed
my mental wellbeing, not knowing if my mum was dead, and would I ever get to see her again. In December 2024 we turned up at Leawood Manor to see the Manager, after seeking legal advice, as we had a joint LPA and every right to see Mum. When asked if she wanted to see us, her answer was a resounding YES! We were then granted visitation and asked for a full investigation as to how restrictions could be placed against a family member without any evidence.
In August 2025 the Nursing home failed in Mum's basic care, as she fell and broke her leg. We believe a lack of physiotherapy and aftercare has lead to her imobility (now confined to a wheelchair) and her health has rapidly declined.

Having gone through some devastating changes, Mum was really struggling to live independtly so residential care was the wisest choice. From first contact the staff & management have listened to us, acted quickly to address any concerns & provided Mum with all she needs & more. She is always busy with
activities & is enjoying the food. She is slowly settling in & seems happier.
Reply from Alin Cuciureanu, Home Manager at Brewster HouseThank you for taking the time to share your experience. We understand how difficult such significant life changes can be, and we're grateful that you entrusted us with your mum's care during this transition.
It is wonderful to hear that she is settling in, enjoying the activities and food, and feeling happier.

My mum moved to Stafford Hall almost a year ago
The care is expectional they got her joining in with activities and took her out on trips
Unfortunately she had a stroke and has now passed away but the last 2 weeks of her life were made so comfortable and nothing was too much trouble
The respect
my mum and us as a family were shown in her last days cant be put into words the support we were given the time everyone spent being there was above and beyond
I would recommend this home 100%
Thank you for everything

Excellent care of my Nana Jan. The staff here were so friendly and personable towards her. They provided everything she could have asked for. She loved the food they provided and the facilities around her. It is how she wanted to spend her final few weeks.

Overall happy with my mother's care . She seems settled and happy.
Only concern is the communication as I hadn't been informed about a change in medication and I wasn't consulted about her being taken off site by another resident family for lunch.
I think this is a safe guarding concern as she is
wheelchair bound and needs assistance getting in and out of the chair and with the bathroom.
Reply from Maxine Hall, Manager at The GrangeThank you for your kind review. We make it a priority to ensure that the residents are settled and happy and that they have the opportunity to take part in activities that will enhance their wellbeing. With a new manager in place, communication is a main focus on the current development plan. I can confirm that when residents are taken out, they are always accompanied by trained staff who can help with transfers and care.

My mother Marjorie is being well looked after by all staff. If there are any issues we are notified promptly by phone. Although Marjorie is unaware of where she is, it is comforting to know she is happy, healthy (never even had a cold!!) and safe.

Generally the home (Rose House) is very good.
Points to improve:
Access at weekends is poor, takes ages to gain entry when visiting.
When meals are being served, more attention is required to help clients so food is not spilt on floor or down clothes.
