As you enter into Woodbury Court it seems very quiet and peaceful but as you move along the corridors and meet the residents and staff the home comes alive. Staff pride themselves on activity-based care and involve residents in all that they do. Promoting independence and choice is paramount.

My Father, is in the best care home, Mel, Lorraine and the team are very attentive, caring and above all are just lovely people. Dad has been here nearly a year now, and he is not wanting for anything. The food they have is fresh and really nice, dad does not leave a morsel on his plate or bowl. The
cleaners are very friendly, and dad is so happy here. I dread to think how he would have been, if he was still in his flat, as he has so much interaction with everyone. Thank you so much for making my dad a happy man.

My Dad was a resident at Woodbury Court for just over 3 months and sadly passed away on 6th October. I cannot praise the staff at Woodbury Court enough. During his stay they were attentive to his every need, in a very loving and caring way. In the days up to his passing, they were always available
to support Dad and myself. They took away my worries about the practical side of things, liaising with St Luke's Hospice, and all came to pay their respects. I would highly recommend Woodbury Court and a big heartfelt thank you to everyone there.

My mother has been there since January 2021. My family are very pleased that mum is there and she is well looked after. The staff are very caring and polite. The food is very good there as well. I took mum to the dining room the other Sunday and the roast dinner smelt lovely. The staff even put the
TV on for mum so she doesn't miss her favourite programme. We know mum is safe there and well looked after. Thank you to all the staff at Woodbury for looking after mum. You are all superstars.

If you are looking for a Care Home for your loved one then look no further, my Brother has been in Woodbury Court for over a year and find that he is well cared for, the Staff are amazing very caring and friendly to everybody.
Woodbury Court is very inviting bright and welcoming with seasonal displays
and music playing and lots of activities for those who wish to take part.
My Brother's room is bright and spacious with his own facilities.

My mother has been resident at Woodbury Court for the last 18 months. She had been diagnosed with dementia a few months prior to arriving at Woodbury Court and life was very confusing and distressing for her. And while her move to the home was not easy, staff and other residents made her very welcome
and spent a lot of time reassuring her. Sooner than I had dared hope she was beginning to regard it as her home. I can't thank the wonderful staff enough. My mother is always treated with kindness and dignity and the overall atmosphere of the place is one of warmth and fun. There's a full programme of activities every week and relatives like me are always made welcome.

My brother came to Woodbury Court for a one month stay back in Dec 2021 and he loved it from day one. Fortunately he was able to stay and he still loves it to this day. All of the staff are wonderful and are so friendly it's always a pleasure to visit. If there are any concerns with my brother Mel will
contact me to let me know and I'll be updated constantly. My brother has had to be admitted to hospital on a few occasions and the updates, reassurance and help offered by the team at Woodbury Court was exceptional each time.


It was a big birthday for my brother last year and Mel made it possible for us to use one of the lounges for the celebration. They decorated the room and kept coming in to check how my brother was doing and if he needed anything. We weren't sure how we were going to hold a party for him due to his physical condition so this was really appreciated and he had a lovely party. If anyone is considering Woodbury Court I 100% recommend it!

We chose Woodbury Court for our mother for a number of reasons including location, decor (interior and exterior), room size and facilities, but the overarching reason was the quality and experience of the team. Both the manager and assistant manager are long served leaders at this care home. Their knowledge
of the team and the residents is truly amazing. Our 97 year old mother has been a resident for over 9 months and during that period she has suffered from a range of illnesses each of which have been addressed with speed, care and compassion.
We would not hesitate to recommend Woodbury Court.

Woodbury Court has put on so many events over the summer with BBQs, Elvis impersonators and many outings for the residents. I would say they go above and beyond to fulfill the happiness of all who lives there. The entertainment crew do a great job with sing alongs, knitting and natter Tuesdays, gardening
club and the Woodbury ramblers. The carers are all easy to talk to with any worries or concerns you may have. The management team are always approachable and happy to help and keep us updated via email plus family meetings. I know my mum is happy and well looked after at Woodbury.

Dad's been here since January 24 and has settled in. Rather not have him in a home at all, but fate had other plans. If he had to be anywhere, then this was the place for dad. Everyone at Woodbury Court have been really supportive of dad and of all of us as a family. They always know the right things
to say. Dad's been well looked after, and August saw a few day trips and a summer bbq. Thanks to Mel, Lorraine and all the staff!

Mum has been a resident of Woodbury for over two years. Throughout that time she has been well cared for given lots of support and staff are always cheery and helpful. Her health has improved immensely and mum is happy and engaging with the family when they visit. We are all grateful for all the care

Mum has been at Woodbury Court for just over a year now. Mum is an extremely independent lady and although her decision, the transition from living independently (with virtually 24/7 family care) to living in a care home, she found difficult to come to terms with. The decision mum made to go into
a care home, was a big deal for mum and handing her care over to someone else, a big deal for us! During the past year, we've been overwhelmed by the care, kindness and support that has been given to mum and us as a family. All the staff are warm and friendly, approachable, requests met with a smile and any concerns, listened to and dealt with straight away. Mum has thrived in their care. There are many organised fun activities and day trips to keep everyone amused, active and socialising, and family can see daily updates, photos and videos, of what everyone has been up to! Never did I think, at 91, I'd see mum bowling, riding an exercise bike and today playing tennis with a fly swat!

My sister has been a resident at Woodbury Court Laindon for quite a while. I have always found Mel and staff very welcoming and supportive. There is always a friendly smile and hello from staff for residents and relatives and they are always interested to know all their news. Woodbury organise many
activities and outings. Also entertainment, arts and craft if residents wish to join in or just watch. There is always something going on.


A staff member is always nearby if assistance is needed and they have a buzzer in the room. The staff are all caring and very friendly. Woodbury also have resident and relative meetings where everyone can discuss any concerns they have or changes Woodbury may be able to make. I must say my relative is very happy at Woodbury Court and I do not have to worry as she is receiving good care.

Woodbury Court consistently proves itself to be a truly wonderful place for my Dad since he's been unable to look after himself.He continues to positively thrive in their care. The entire yeam are in my view absolutelyfaultless. Doing a difficult job exceptionally well!!

Woodbury Court is a wonderful care home. My dad has been there for 18 months now. He is extremely happy and so well cared for. My mum could no longer care for him at home due to having had a stroke herself. We are so relieved that the amazingly dedicated team at Woodbury Court was there to help us
in our hour of need and continue to care for dad better than we ever could ourselves. He has complex needs, and they manage his day-to-day care, medication all hospital visits, just everything! We are blessed! Thank you to all at Woodbury Court from the bottom of our hearts.

My mum has been a resident at Woodbury Court since September 2023. I have previously submitted a review, but thought it's time again to sing their praises. I thank every member of the amazing, caring staff that work at the home. As time has gone on my mum's dementia has unfortunately got quite advanced.
They
really know how to help her and keep her her happy. There is always someone to discuss any situations with.
Great genuine compassion is given by everyone. Thank you so much for caring for my dear mum.

Mum was admitted to Woodbury Court following a hospital stay in 2020 already experiencing vascular dementia. Initially it was difficult but due to the kindness of management and staff she eventually settled down. At this time mum was able to take part in activities and outings and was quite content.
No-one would wish to spend their final years in this situation, but my experience of the home is positive. I have always found the staff to be caring, kind and extremely helpful to me whenever I visit and mum's condition can be challenging now. The management team are always available and ready and willing to help if you have any issues.

Quick update on my previous review. My mother has several health concerns, not least a lack of mobility and severe arthritis, which were compounded by a fall at home prior to full time care. The staff at the Home have done so much to help my mother come to terms to some extent with her change in circumstances.
From a determined, independent woman, my mother has had to accept limitations in her life which none of us could ever have imagined.


I am delighted to say that a new doctor was arranged for mum, all tests have either been competed or are now under way. A hearing test can now be arranged and the home have assured me that they can help with hearing aids if necessary. Knowing from other family members how difficult hearing aids can be to handle I was so reassured by the professionalism of the staff that I look forward to mum enjoying easier listening to her TV, music and audible books! So grateful to the caring staff of the Home. Thank you!

My dad was admitted to Woodbury Court as a resident from hospital. All the staff were very welcoming and helpful at an upsetting time. The door to the office is always open and feel you can always speak to someone. There are lots of activities going on and staff try to get everyone involved. All areas
are kept very clean and food is varied. I feel very reassured that my dad is being well cared for.

My mother has been here since February and she never wanted to go into a care home. Since being at Woodbury Court she has come alive, she is the happiest I have seen her in along time. The care and attention she has received from the staff is excellent, the daily activity and the trips she can go on
is amazing. My mother has gone from refusing to get out of bed when she first arrived to getting up and joining in almost every day.

Welcome to Woodbury Court. My name is Mel and I am the Home Manager. Woodbury Court is purpose-built and provides residential care for up to 94 residents. Our home consists of 5 homely suits; Rose and Tulip on the ground floor, and Ivy, Lotus and Jasmine on the first floor. Each suite has its own lounge and dining room, as well as communal facilities. Each bedroom benefits from its own en-suite. We provide a hairdressing service in our salon, and our ‘Allsorts’ tea room is very popular with residents and visitors. I have been part of the Woodbury Court family for eight wonderful years. In my role as Financial Administrator, I enjoy meeting new people and reminiscing with our residents, listening to their cherished memories and fascinating stories.


Beyond work, I love contributing to the home’s vibrant atmosphere, especially when helping to decorate for special events. A fun fact about me: I once won £2,500 on a slot machine during a trip to Las Vegas!


Before joining Woodbury Court, I worked for the Metropolitan Police. I am also a qualified first aider and have successfully passed my basic driving course.


In my free time, I enjoy reading, creating diamond art, going to the cinema, and socialising. Arts and crafts are a passion of mine, and I love bringing creative projects to life.

I have been with Runwood Homes for over 14 years, working in various capacities to support the care team and residents. Currently, I hold the role of Care Team Leader at Woodbury Court Care Home.


I have an NVQ Level 1 & 2 in Food Preparation and Hospitality, as well as an NVQ Level 2 in Web Design and Development. My experience spans both the care and hospitality industries, allowing me to bring a diverse set of skills to my role.


A fun fact about me is that I once jumped into a river in Ireland to save a dog that had fallen in and got its paw caught between two rocks. Over the years, the river has grown deeper and more treacherous—depending on who I'm telling the story to!


In my spare time, I enjoy gardening, cooking, and baking. I also love reading and spending time with my dogs.
