As you enter into Woodbury Court it seems very quiet and peaceful but as you move along the corridors and meet the residents and staff the home comes alive. Staff pride themselves on activity-based care and involve residents in all that they do. Promoting independence and choice is paramount.

The home has warm, welcoming and cosy dining rooms and lounges. But if a quiet place is needed that can also be found, choice is so important.

My mother moved to Woodbury Court in 2017 as she has dementia and needed 24/7 support. I have nothing but praise for the staff and management who have made it a proper home for her and given her the support and care she needs. The home has been regularly redecorated and improved and is always immaculately
clean. Her room is lovely and bright, the food is of a high standard with a selection of choices and you can see into the kitchen when you visit and it is spotless. They organise activities e.g. nail painting, pizza decorating etc. Clothes are laundered regularly and hung up in her wardrobe. Unfortunately, Mum has had to be hospitalised on a few occasions and each time I’ve had the staff and management calling me regularly to see how she is. They really care and regularly sent photos of Mum during the lockdowns. I have no hesitation in recommending Woodbury Court and would like to thank the staff and management for their professionalism and hard work.

The carers here do go above and beyond. They all seem to care very much about the residents.
Must be hard with the lockdowns for staff and residents, but they soldier on.
When they can, there are activities for residents and a hairdresser during the week, which is great. There is a small garden which
should look good in the spring.
The courtyard to be fair could benefit from a good spruce up, but guess that is up to directors.
But the carers, management, receptionist, kitchen staff and laundry ladies all do their very best for the residents and I couldn’t hope for anymore and feel confident my mother is in safe and caring hands, which is all I could hope for.

Woodbury Court is a great care home. My grandmother has severe dementia and has been there since around 2011. Management will go above and beyond to help and care for your loved ones. It can be hard to have a family member who suffers from this awful disease, but they support you through it so well.

Mum has struggled with severe dementia for many years and is unable to communicate clearly. She has lived at Woodbury Court for the past year. The Manager and her team are incredibly professional and organised which is very reassuring as a loving relative. The entire home is kept in immaculate condition.
Rooms are thoroughly cleaned and aired every day and there has never been that 'old people smell' that many care homes suffer from. There is a very warm family feel amongst the staff and all the residents are treated as part of this caring family. Meals are always generous and varied and mum enjoys the regular tea and biscuits throughout the day! She has a weekly blow dry with the hairdresser and all of her clothes are clean and hung neatly in her wardrobe. I would not hesitate in recommending this home and the wonderful team. It is a tough job and yet these professionals make it look easy.

My mum enjoyed her stay at Woodbury Court while awaiting the return of my dad from hospital. I cannot praise the staff at Woodbury Court enough. This was my mum's first experience of residential care. The receptionist especially made my mum feel very safe and welcomed. My mum enjoyed a bubble bath,
a haircut - by a lovely/very professional hairdresser, and a manicure. Mum is at home now with my dad, but she is singing praises of the care she received. A big thank you to Woodbury Court for Mum's care - it is very much appreciated.

I wanted to leave a review based on my recent experience visiting my Mum at Woodbury Court. Yesterday I managed to have a contact visit with my mum for the first time, and it was wonderful. I had a Lateral Flow covid test and wore PPE for my visit. The whole process was simple and the staff managed
to keep the situation professional but light-hearted (even though this is a very serious time). I had seen Mum previously, in the "bubble" visiting area, which was great, but this was a million times better. The staff at Woodbury Court have been taking great care of my Mum (we haven't actually been into the home since my mum moved there during the pandemic). Mum's room is bright and airy and spotlessly clean. The whole environment was so homely and welcoming, it was a massive relief to know that our mum is receiving the best care in such a wonderful place.
The whole team at Woodbury Court have a lot to be proud of, especially since they have been working under such demanding circumstances.

My mum moved into Woodbury Court when it became safer for her to be there, during her battle with Alzheimer's. Right from the start, the manager was so helpful and reassuring. Every single person we spoke to, was so helpful and more importantly, you could tell from the way they spoke to us and all the
other residents, that they do really care and were very kind to everyone. Unfortunately, my mum came out of hospital and wasn't very well and they were just so compassionate and helpful and very thoughtful of the whole family. One carer, in particular, was especially helpful and the lady on reception. I don't know all their names, but every one looked after us, the family and our mum, in a very sensitive and caring way. We will be forever grateful. Thank you so much to everyone.

I had a ‘room’ visit with my mum today. The procedure before seeing ran like clockwork. My lateral flow test for Covid performed, a wait in my car for the result (negative) PPE given to wear and then a socially distanced extremely pleasant visit with my mother.
She looked well presented and cared for,
her hair was long (as was expected) but washed and ‘styled’ her nails shaped and painted, her clothes clean and tidy, she looked well-fed and she was very happy. Her room looked homely and was clean and tidy with all her personal effects arranged neatly. Her clothes in her wardrobe and chest of drawers were neat and tidy as was her bedding. Overall she was well looked after.
All the staff that I saw were chatty and seemed pleased to see me. I think they too were glad to have relatives and friends visiting again.
During ‘lockdown’ I have had pictures sent to me of my mum enjoying herself, interacting with staff and other residents and having ‘pamper parties’.

I find all the staff to be very friendly and when I ask questions, the staff will answer and find things out for me if they don't know. My mum is happy and this makes a big difference. I think Woodbury Court could do with a bit of upgrading in parts but overall, it's a lovely home and I appreciate all

Woodbury Court is a jewel in the crown of care homes and I am so glad that Mum has found herself there. We had no choice, as she had broken her hip and after an operation, was taken there automatically and has now been a full-time resident for over a year. And what a year it has been. Throughout this
challenging period, her care as well as the management of the home itself, hasn’t altered. Proactive, pragmatic and principled, they have navigated us as a family through the most stressful of times. Even when mum had a stroke and was admitted to hospital and when she contracted covid, my brother and I have been notified calmly, kept abreast of the situation and supported. Mum has coped brilliantly as a result and has literally adopted so many of the carers as her own friends and family. It’s lovely to see. Even though Mum is coping with Alzheimer’s, her face lights up and she talks to every one of those carers and managers (who, if I could name them on here, I would). You are all exemplary.

Dad has been at Woodbury since last year and the care that he has received has been amazing. With lockdown, it has been so difficult as I haven’t been able to visit and so, when the pod was opened 3 weeks ago, I jumped at the chance of a visit. It was such a lovely experience and being able to see Dad
again was fabulous. The manager and her team are fantastic, nothing is too much trouble for them and they keep in contact with me regularly. Dad is happy and that is the most important thing.

Mum has been with Woodbury Court since May 2020. I cannot praise them enough for the care and attention they have given her. Through the toughest times, they have done an amazing job to keep her safe, comfortable and happy. Mum's case is complex, and they have always been in our corner working with

I cannot recommend the home highly enough. Dad had Alzheimer's and spent three years in the home where the care had a massive positive impact on his well being. Sadly, Dad was diagnosed with Covid in late 2020 whilst a resident in the home. His condition worsened and he had to be admitted to the local
hospital. Efforts by the hospital were only partially successful and he was discharged back to the home in December. Despite not being a nursing home, the home was able to put a palliative care plan in place with the local hospice which ensured that dad's last days were as comfortable as possible. They were sensitive to both his needs and those of his close relatives and all the family think they went beyond what was expected in the care they provided.

After visiting mum for the 1st time this year, I was so pleased to see her. The home provided a pod which made our visit very safe for mum and me. I would like to say a big thank you to all the ladies working at the home as they are doing a great job in difficult circumstances at the moment. Mum looks
very well cared for as always and I'm sure we all can not wait to be back to normal when safe again. I would recommend Woodbury Court and all their staff if anyone is considering moving a relative into their care for a long or even short-term respite. My Uncle was moved to Woodbury Court from another care home as it was closing down in May. This was when COVID-19 was at a high so we have been unable to visit him at this new home. It was lovely to finally be able to visit my Uncle who I had not seen since 13th March. The visit was very well organised
and he was well prepared for the visit. Thank you for looking after him he seems very happy and is getting on well with all the staff. Thank you.

We came over to see Mum for the first time since the 18th of March. We meet her in the garden, the care nurse was with us at all times. It was wonderful to see her after all this time, she was very pleased to see us. The home had organised the visit for us by appointment and was very well organised.
Throughout the last 3 months, they have been us sending us photos of mum's progress and keeping us up to date. They are doing an amazing job in very difficult circumstances, and have certainly kept the virus at bay. Thank you for looking after her.

Welcome to Woodbury Court. My name is Mel and I am the Home Manager. Woodbury Court is purpose-built and provides residential care for up to 94 residents. Our home consists of 5 homely suits; Rose and Tulip on the ground floor, and Ivy, Lotus and Jasmine on the first floor. Each suite has its own lounge and dining room, as well as communal facilities. Each bedroom benefits from its own en-suite. We provide a hairdressing service in our salon, and our ‘Allsorts’ tea room is very popular with residents and visitors. We offer a wide range of activities which include live entertainment, budding bakers, arts and crafts, and a weekly visit from Poppy the PAT dog. We would like to invite you to come and view our lovely home and meet our team. We are very happy to answer any questions that you have and look forward to welcoming you.

I have been part of the Woodbury Court family for eight wonderful years. In my role as Financial Administrator, I enjoy meeting new people and reminiscing with our residents, listening to their cherished memories and fascinating stories.


Beyond work, I love contributing to the home’s vibrant atmosphere, especially when helping to decorate for special events. A fun fact about me: I once won £2,500 on a slot machine during a trip to Las Vegas!


Before joining Woodbury Court, I worked for the Metropolitan Police. I am also a qualified first aider and have successfully passed my basic driving course.


In my free time, I enjoy reading, creating diamond art, going to the cinema, and socialising. Arts and crafts are a passion of mine, and I love bringing creative projects to life.

I have been working at Woodbury Court for 2 years, where I thrive in a fun, family-orientated environment. I have been with Runwood Homes for over 14 years, working in various capacities to support the care team and residents. Currently, I hold the role of Care Team Leader at Woodbury Court Care Home.


I have an NVQ Level 1 & 2 in Food Preparation and Hospitality, as well as an NVQ Level 2 in Web Design and Development. My experience spans both the care and hospitality industries, allowing me to bring a diverse set of skills to my role.


A fun fact about me is that I once jumped into a river in Ireland to save a dog that had fallen in and got its paw caught between two rocks. Over the years, the river has grown deeper and more treacherous—depending on who I'm telling the story to!


In my spare time, I enjoy gardening, cooking, and baking. I also love reading and spending time with my dogs.

A lesser-known fact about me is that I can drive Army vehicles—a skill I’m proud of and always happy to share stories about! In my free time, I enjoy watching my son play rugby, which brings me so much joy and pride.
