Dad comes to the Day Centre twice a week and has been coming for over a year now. He was reluctant at first when he was diagnosed but we are all glad he was persuaded. He loves the bus trip back and forth, through all the villages he remembers from when he was working, and especially if they put the
music on. He likes the activities at the centre, especially painting, singing, quizzes and meeting animals - anything out of the usual routine, really. The staff are friendly and helpful. Dad's two sessions also give my Mum a chance to have some time to herself, to get things sorted in the house or have appointments. We are all pleased with the day centre's service.

The day centre is very wonderful place and my Nan really enjoys going twice a week. Sits in the puzzle room and enjoys doing puzzles and chatting with everyone. Staff are so helpful and kind.
Nan lives on her own in flat and coming to the day centre has really helped her get out more and socialise.

I like the day centre because everybody is in the same boat as me, it's company for me. I like to have a chat and we have a laugh here. It makes me realise that there are people worse off than me. I enjoy the lunch that is served up, and it is very sociable.

My mum has been in this care home for three weeks. She is so happy. The nurses are kind, caring and full of fun! My mum tells me she is happy. She is clean, her medication is given when needed, and she enjoys her food. I moved my mum here from a home that was no good. Since being at Ashwood, my mum
has come out of her shell, and she now talks again, and I just know she is happy and content. She smiles more bow. When it is my time, I'd like to move into Ashwood!

Greenbanks

from Jane T (Daughter of Resident) published on 15 September 2025

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My dad was admitted to Greenbanks on 15th August, as a resident in respite care, whilst my mother who was his main carer had an operation. He has dementia amongst other ailments and is physically disabled, so requires a lot of care. From the moment he was admitted, the care and empathy for dad's condition
and our family's emotional journey to placing him in a care home, has been exemplary. It is now the 30th August and I can honestly say that every single member of staff my family and I have encountered, have been professional, accommodating and on every occasion put us at ease. They always greet us with a smile and no reasonable request is too much for them. I cannot praise this home enough. Clearly the management staff know and understand the quality of care that meets the needs of their residents. It is a bright, clean, homely and welcoming environment. Thank you all but in particular one member of staff for his constant kindness and care.

much appreciated.

I am delighted with the care my sister receives from all the staff at Highview. This residential care home is so bright and clean, unlike many - no adours!
The residents are never left alone. There is always a carer on hand every moment of the day.
Meals are excellent, and during the day, the residents
are given drinks and snacks.
Daily reports are written every time a carer attends to the residents and is totally 'up to date'. A massive thank you.

Greenbanks

from John C (Son of Resident) published on 30 July 2025
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My Mum was a resident at Greenbanks from April-June 2025. Owing to Mum's Alzheimer's, additional care that we could not provide following an operation was needed. Never having used a care home before, we were very concerned about where to place Mum, but the staff at Greenbanks were so professional and
sympathetic from the outset that any worries were immediately alleviated for us as a family. The care given by frontline staff was exemplary and the administrative side of things was dealt with very professionally. We always felt able to ask questions, and staff at all levels responded in an open and honest manner that served to reassure us. Activities and events at Greenbanks were consistent and enjoyable, and by involving families as well as residents, a sense of community in the home was created. Mum unfortunately passed away in June when her Alzheimer's went into its advanced stage, but we gained great solace from the dignified end of life care Mum received. Thank you everyone.

My wife has been a resident in Lancaster Court for 18 months and I am still very pleased that I chose this care home for my wife.
The food is very good and the home is kept spotlessly clean. She is very well looked after and her key worker is a lovely person well trained, very patient and hard working.
The management of the care home put on an excellent 80th Anniversary celebration and the Elvis tribute show went down very well.

Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
I was a respite patient on the 2nd floor room 54. All of the staff there were hard-working and efficient, caring and patient, and went out of their way to help in any way they could. Very, very clean and surprising quiet for a care home. As most of the residents are memory care, it was difficult to
interact with them... But the staff more than made up for it. The food was delicious. The garden is beautiful and restful... as is the entire facility. I wish there had been more activities, but the activity coordinator was on vacation during my stay, so that is understandable... and the BBQ was fabulous!

Day Centre is fantastic for Mum. Without it, she wouldn't be able to stay in her own home. It also enables me to work; otherwise, she would need care & stimulation throughout the day. It wouldn't be good or safe for her to sit at home alone all day with only a lunchtime carer visiting. Daycare has kept
Mum going. They mobilise her, enlisting, drinking, providing entertainment and social interaction that she wouldn't get otherwise. The bus ride to & from the centre is also stimulation for her. For Mum & me day centre enables our lives to continue with some normality.
