Leatherland Lodge

from Leonie G (Daughter of Resident) published on 2 March 2026
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
When our 90-year-old father moved into Letherland Lodge in December 25, we were filled with fear and uncertainty. We knew very little about nursing homes and were understandably anxious about how he would settle, especially as he is now blind and suffers greatly with Charles Bonnet syndrome.
From the
very beginning, the team at Letherland Lodge have been nothing short of extraordinary. Every single member of staff has shown genuine kindness, patience and compassion - not just towards our dad, but towards us as a family too.
What has touched us most is the way the staff have gone above and beyond to understand his condition. Some have even taken the time to read up on Charles Bonnet syndrome so they can better support him. That level of care, empathy and dedication means more to us than we can ever fully express.
They treat him with dignity, warmth and respect every single day. Knowing he is safe, understood and cared for so thoughtfully has given us enormous comfort and peace of mind.
Reply from Cheryl Wright, Manager at Leatherland LodgeThank you Leonie for the lovely review .
Dad has settled in so well, and an absolute Gentleman,
Staff have supported him and are very aware of his little ways which keeps him active, and he is fully aware of his surroundings.

My sister has settled into Carolyne House, the staff have put her at ease and helped her to start to become more relaxed, feel comfortable and able to ask for asisstance. All staff who enter her room have engaged with her and have helped her feel safe and some friendly banter has encouraged her to give
some cheeky responses.

My late grandmother was cared for at Broomhills, the staff are fantastic and looked after her really well. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending the care home. The last manager didnt make contact with us after my grandmother died which we all thought was a real shame. I know the manager before would have.

I cannot thank you all enough for looking after my mum, she was admitted after constantly falling at home and ending up in hospital, being in care was her biggest fear but all staff helped her settle in. She was bedbound with Dementia but she was well looked after and was kept clean and tidy at all
times. Thank you for looking after her in her final days. I would highly recommend and again cannot thank you all for looking after her. I also found the office staff very helpful and would go the extra mile to help you. Alex the manager was always there to help. Thanks Karen

I could not have chosen a better care home than Woodbury Court Care Home for my sister who has been there a long time now and very happy there. My thanks goes to all staff who care, interact, entertain and look after my sister and the residents there. They all go beyond their role and are always happy
and cheerful with a smile. Woodbury has a pleasant environment and atmosphere; a pleasant home to visit; a home from home for residents. There are plenty of activities and days out and interactions between residents and staff. They have resident and relative meetings every month to give everyone a voice to improve or adjust care. They recently did a survey for residents on food preferences and dislikes and have amended and improved their menus accordingly but are always happy to provide an alternative if someone is unhappy with what is on the menu that day.
Mel the Manager and Lorraine Deputy Manager, are always available to talk at their door opposite reception always open.

I stayed at Loganberry Lodge whilst my house which was flooded dried out and was repaired. I met with nothing but kindness and attention. I felt the staff were very, very patient with residents who needed help. The management were equally pleasant. I would certainly recommend it any time.

My father has only been in Redbond Lodge for almost three weeks but in that short time he is settling in really well. This is thanks to all the staff who have been so kind and caring in helping him. It is peace of mind for our family to know that he is being so well cared for and looked after. On visiting,
we are always made to feel very welcome. His personal care is excellent and he has a lovely room that is kept clean and tidy as are all other areas of home.
Reply from Racquel Cruz, Home Manager at Redbond LodgeThank you for taking the time to leave such a lovely review. Our team continually works hard to ensure that the fundamental principles of care are always applied for our residents, while also maintaining positive working relationships with every family. Thank you - we will be sure to pass on your kind words to the team. They will truly appreciate this recognition of their hard work.

The team at Heron Court are so kind to my mum and always make it fun for the residents. My mum went on a trip to a Tea Dance last week and has been out for lunch today. The staff are very welcoming and it has a very homely feel as you walk through the door. The activities in house are great - Bingo,
exercise, etc.
Thank you to everyone at Heron Court for their continued hard work!

My Brother has been in Woodbury court for nearly two years and we find that he is well cared for and encouraged to take part in activities. Mel found out that my Brother likes Tom and sat and listened to Green Green Grass which he liked. Please to see that staff has sat with my Brother and gone through
his memory album which stimulates him and gets him talking re past events.

My mother has now been at Woodbury Court for almost 9 months. My sister and I moved her from another home, where there were not enough suitable activities to occupy her.

Woodbury Court is modern and well maintained. Residents' rooms are a good size and very comfortable. The food is of a very good

quality and is appropriate to residents' needs and preferences. The dedicated staff team do everything they can to give the residents the best experience possible and are endlessly patient and very caring.

The Management Team at Woodbury Court are very helpful with any query or problem that arises, and come up with some excellent ideas and solutions to issues that arise. They are always ready to listen to relatives and to residents.

There is a comprehensive range of activities to suit most people and they are always ready to add new activities that may be requested. These are meaningful and varied.

I would recommend Woodbury Court to anyone looking for a placement for a loved one.

A dedicated professional staff who pay as much attention to the needs of family and friends as they do the residents. The home has managers who are held in high esteem by their staff and who make relatives and visiting friends feel like they are joining a big caring family. The gardens and buildings
are kept in A1 condition and the rooms feel welcoming and cosy. Visitors are welcome day and night and are offered meals if their stay is long. Altogether wonderful.

My mother has been a resident in Carolyne House for more than a year now, and our family can't fault the care that she receives. From the manager Avi, and throughout the home, they work tirelessly to make everything comfortable & clean for the residents. Only wish Mum was able to join in, but time has
taken her. Thank you to you all.
