The Grange is a very friendly and caring home where my sister Christine is very happy.
She receives good interaction with the staff and they are very patient and helpful to all her needs.
The food is very good and they pay attention to her dietary needs as well as her well being.
Since Christine
has been a resident we do not have any concerns for her care ,safety and well being.
She has joined the choir and is often taken out on day trips.

My Mum has lived at Alexandra House for nearly 3 years - she has Young-Onset Alzheimer's and requires full-time nursing care. She is well cared for at the home - importantly the staff know her and her needs, ensuring she is treated as an individual.
The staff work closely with us as a family to give
Mum the best possible care, including respecting our wishes about spending time in communal spaces when activities are happening, even if she cannot fully engage.
The care home are experienced in providing care as residents' needs evolve - for example, they have adapted the food Mum receives as her Alzheimer's has progressed.
There is also a consistency in core staff, which gives us confidence in the consistency of care Mum receives - they know what is or isn't normal for Mum and respond accordingly. The staff are kind and caring and we appreciate the home they are giving to Mum.
I would highly recommend the home.
Reply from Monica Dragu, Registered Manager at Alexandra HouseThank you so much for taking the time to share such a thoughtful and detailed review. We are truly grateful for your kind words and for placing your trust in us over the past three years. It means a great deal to hear that your mum feels well cared for and that our team's efforts to understand her as an individual are making a positive difference. Supporting residents with young-onset Alzheimer's requires not only experience but genuine compassion, and we're pleased that this is reflected in your experience with us. Working closely with families is incredibly important to us, so we're especially glad you feel involved in your mum's care and that your wishes are respected. Your recognition of our team's consistency and attentiveness is also very much appreciated. Building familiarity and trust allows us to notice even small changes and respond with the right level of care.

I was met by Avigail who was very helpful and before I knew it mum was in as a resident
She has been there for nearly a month now and I could not be any happier how things have turned out she is now settled and feels
at home and this is due to to the amazing people there it feels like home and I am at peace knowing I have no worries they are now part of my family and I no longer worry how mum is as they treat her as their own Avigail marilyn and the wonderful Livia the fact I have my mum 3 minutes away knowing they are caring for her and giving her new memories with the things they do for the residents I'm eternally grateful they've given her a new lease of life I could go on forever with kind words what this place has done is all I could have hoped for thank you Carolyne House in a sentence not all angels have wings but thank you so much I love you all from the bottom of my heart

I was lucky enough that Longview accepted my mum who has Lewy Body Dementia, and my sister who has Downs Syndrome. I was really worried about both of them being separated from each other after 54 years of co-dependency. They have both settled in and I have a big weight off my shoulders, not worrying
so much because I know they are both being cared for by the amazing staff at Longview. With the new manager being so proactive and moving mum from upstairs to downstairs so she could see my sister on a daily basis, I can already see a difference in them both, mum walking around more, and my sister being more independent and doing her own thing - always with the carers around. Staff involve them both in the activities and days out, and mum can even have her hair done regularly. Thanks Longview.
Reply from Lorraine Taylor, Manager at LongviewThank you so much for your kind and thoughtful review. It truly means a lot to us to hear how well your mum and sister have settled in at Longview.
We understand how important it was for them to remain close after so many years together, and we're so pleased we could support that. It's wonderful to hear that the changes made by our team have had such a positive impact on both of them, helping your mum stay active and your sister grow in independence.
Our staff are dedicated to providing compassionate, person-centred care, and your feedback reassures us that we are making a difference. We will be sure to share your lovely comments with the whole team.

My mother was a resident at Blackthorns for just under a year from March 2025. Our family cannot praise the home enough for the care and love they offered her along with the support we all received in her final days. Without exception, the staff were kind, caring and professional which helped to create
a wonderful atmosphere that exuded throughout the home. If it remains the same then in the due course I'll be knocking on Blackthorns' door!

The home is spotless. From the moment you walk through the door you can feel the warm, positive atmosphere. Everyone is smiling and friendly, they genuinely care.
What's really stood out is how well the team have got to know my nan in such a short space of time. It was so important to me, as her sole
carer, that she was somewhere she was safe and looked after.
The activities are incredible! She's knitting again, enjoying visits from local schools, and she's been to coffee shops and garden centres. She also loves the food!
The staff are amazing. Dawn, Prince, Ade, Vicky, Karen, Jess, and everyone else I've met (am sorry not to remember all your names!) have been brilliant. They really go above and beyond.
Moving her here was the best decision we could have made. She's thriving, she's safe, and she's living her life again. Thank you doesn't feel like enough.

We sadly lost our mum this week and wanted to take a moment to thank the team at Loganberry Lodge care home. When things become very hard towards the end, the kindness, compassion and respect shown to mum and to our family means more than we can say. A very special and heartfelt to all the staff, your

My mum has been in Longview for approx 6 weeks. I cannot fault the home in anyway shape or form. The home is spotlessly clean, homecooked food, her room has everything she needs and the care is outstanding. The staff are so lovely and listen to everything you have to say. The staff are so helpful
from the carers to the admin to the laundry staff everyone involved. My mum is still at the settling stage but is gradually getting there. I feel so relaxed when I leave mum knowing she is so cared for and looked after.

Oh my goodness...I wish I could give Humfrey Lodge a million stars! My mum is 86 years old and when she arrived at the care home she was in a sorry state. She had stopped eating or getting dressed and had lost any interest in watching the television or reading a book. No matter how hard we tried we
couldn't seem to help her. BUT...then she went to Humfrey Lodge for 2 weeks respite and we haven't looked back since! She is now a permanent resident and the change is our mum is nothing short of a miracle. I really mean that. The staff are beyond special...their caring, nurturing, funny, genuine personalities shine through. My mum now can't wait for her cooked breakfast every morning and her lunch and her dinner...followed by a sneaky tipple. She watches all her favourites on the tele and laughs with all the staff constantly. They look after her like a princess. There are not enough words to say thank you...you have given our mum back to us and her grandchildren and that is priceless.

My partners Mum was taken in by Carolyne House within 24 hours of my partner approaching the manager and explaining the situation with his mum that she had been in hospital since New Years Eve and we needed to get her into a good care home near us.
The manager put my partner at ease immediately and
said she would ensure she would get my partners mum into their care home as soon as possible, otherwise the hospital could have put her miles away, and within 24 hours she was in Carolyne House.
We cannot fault the home, the staff, the residents, everybody is always happy, the care is next to none, there is always something going on for the residents, daytrips, bingo, crafts, baking to name just a few.
My partners mum has settled in extremely well and loves it at Carolyne House and every one of the staff.

My mother is so happy at The Grange. Her physical needs are all met by kind, caring staff using excellent facilities onsite. Her room is large and well lit with lots of her personal possessions around her. She has a beautiful tree outside her window which forms part of well kept, colourful gardens.
This is very important as flowers and outside space has always been her love. She does not spend much time in her room, however, as there are always activities going on and guests coming into the home. Also they have day trips out to garden centres and the seaside. One of the many activities that Mum enjoys is The One Voice Choir. It revives many memories for her and creates new experiences when they perform to relations and friends. The staff are wonderful and always have time to sit and talk to her if she feels low.
I enjoy visiting Mum in her home as it feels like walking into a family home where everyone is friendly and caring. The Grange staff do a wonderful job!
