Thank you to the staff that sang Happy Birthday to my sister. All staff are friendly and helpful. I know that my sister is being well cared for and that she does like to have a friendly banter with those that care for her.

From the moment we walked through the door we knew we had found somewhere truly special. The level of care, compassion & professionalism shown by every member of staff has exceeded our expectations. The team go above & beyond to ensure residents feel safe, comfortable & cared for. Communications with
families is excellent. Any concerns are addressed promptly & thoughtfully. The environment itself is warm, clean & welcoming. It's reassuring to see smiles & laughter. I would like to express my sincere appreciated for outstanding leadership of the care home managers.

I cannot speak highly enough of Carolyne House. My mother receives 24 hour dementia care there, and the standard of care across every aspect has been truly excellent. The staff are compassionate, attentive, and treat residents with genuine dignity and respect. It is clear that they take the time to
understand each individuals needs which gives great reassurance to the families. We are always kept informed and feel involved in my mothers care at all times. The management team run the home professionally and with warmth, creating a safe clean comfortable and well maintained and contributing to feeling of quality and care throughout the home.

Carolyne House is an exceptional nursing home. The staff are always professional, friendly, caring, compassionate and dedicated to looking after the residents. They go above and beyond in sometimes challenging situations. They provide activities everyday and include as many residents as they can, the
restrictions to this is often the size of the communal areas which are not big enough to accommodate all the residents at once.

The actual care provided by the staff is excellent and very attentive. The home is kept very clean & pleasant in appearance. A wide variety of activities is provided by the home for the residents, although my mother doesn't participate in them. The food is okay. The cost of the care is expensive and
in hard times, a rise of 5.3% was excessive.

I have been so pleased with the excellent care my mum has received since she was admitted to Carolyne House. She is well cared for, stimulated and enjoys regular trips out and daily activities to keep her body and mind active and engaged. All the staff are happy and caring. Always welcoming visitors
as well as being very kind and patient with the residents in their care. I could not have wished for a better place for my mum to stay. Mum and the family are very happy with her care.

I called in to make an enquiry about my mum and how I could get her a place there.
I was met by Avigail who was very helpful and before I knew it mum was in as a resident
She has been there for nearly a month now and I could not be any happier how things have turned out she is now settled and feels
at home and this is due to to the amazing people there it feels like home and I am at peace knowing I have no worries they are now part of my family and I no longer worry how mum is as they treat her as their own Avigail marilyn and the wonderful Livia the fact I have my mum 3 minutes away knowing they are caring for her and giving her new memories with the things they do for the residents I'm eternally grateful they've given her a new lease of life I could go on forever with kind words what this place has done is all I could have hoped for thank you Carolyne House in a sentence not all angels have wings but thank you so much I love you all from the bottom of my heart

My father was staying at Carolyne House under nursing. He recently passed away in January and up to his passing, he was treated with dignity and compassion. I can not speak more highly of the 'team' at Carolyne House, as that is what we thought of them a 'team'. It was a positive experience and we cannot
thank the staff there enough for their kindness and care.

I have always been given a warm, friendly welcome from staff when visiting my Aunt. Their kindness to the residents is lovely to see and nothing ever seems to be too much trouble. The activities team also make sure there is plenty for residents to do and ensure they are active and entertained, especially
the lovely days out they arrange - I think it is so important to give the residents the chance to still be part of life outside of the care home.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.913)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.913) out of 10 for Carolyne House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 68 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 68 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.913 for Carolyne House is calculated as follows: ( (740 Excellents x 5) + (54 Goods x 4) + (8 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 802 Ratings = 4.913
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Carolyne House is based on 68 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 53 registered maximum number of service users is 10.6, which has been reached with 68 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
