My mother was a proud, fit and fiercely independent woman throughout her long life, but now at the age of 97 she has severe dementia and is unable to walk. When she entered Carolyn House, we, the family, thought she was near her end but, with the care and patience of the dedicated staff, she has become
stronger and is now contented and comfortable in a beautiful room of her own. We are always greeted by friendly care staff whenever we visit. We often find her in the lounge and although she cannot interact with the others, she is happy to be surrounded by other people and not lonely and isolated. She is always clean and well groomed, which is not easy as she puts up a fight. We have been surprised to find her with painted nails, as she never painted them in her prime, but it illustrates the care and attention given to the patients. Although she cannot enjoy the tearoom or the artwork on the walls, it adds to general feeling of comfort and homeliness. The staff greet her with a smile and as she responds to mood, when the staff are happy, she is happy too.

All the staff are very welcoming to the family and can't do enough to help mum and make her comfortable. Mum loves the food which is served and is so relaxed being here that she even went out on a trip with the home which she thoroughly enjoyed and already asked when can she go back, and looking forward
to her next outing which is amazing for her considering she's not been out the house for over 4 years. The manager is fabulous so approachable and can't do enough to help.

My husband has been here just over a year. Although his mobility etc. has not improved. With the staff's help he mixes in with other residents. He gets on with all the staff knowing them by name, He always enjoys the food and makes comments, according to the staff. As family members, we are kept up
to date with everything that goes on in the home, via weekly emails. When needed urgently we are contacted immediately by phone.

My brother has been at Carolyne House for 2 years and my mum goes there for respite. I have nothing but praise for how they are looked after and my brother appears to be so much happier there because it has given him more interest in participating in both indoor and outdoor activities. The home is always

They have looked after my great grandmother for a few years I would recommend this home.
The manager is one of the best managers I've met.

My nan spent almost 11 years at Carolyne House, I have to say majority of her time she was happy. I think improvements have definitely been made over the years. The rooms are lovely, done to a very high standard. Most staff are friendly and compassionate. The manager is lovely, kind, caring and also
remains impartial in family situations. My nan thought a lot of the the manager and her husband whom also works within Carolyne House. Only room for improvement I would say was the food didn't always look appetising, although nan was on a blended diet at the end.

Since first viewing, I was impressed and that hasn't changed. My husband is challenging with Alzheimer's but all the carers and nurses seem to have worked magic with his anxiety over personal care. He's always clean, so is his room. The managers and staff keep us informed of doctors visits, changed
in medications, sleep patterns etc. They encourage him to partake in activities as much as he wants. They all address him and family by name, which makes us feel like family. Food is excellent, fresh, varies and liquids offered all day. Carolyne House always looks clean, smells clean and available to family at all times. 100%.

I graduated from Far Eastern University as a medical technologist. As a child, I loved playing teacher and even had an imaginary friend who joined in my games!


In my spare time, I enjoy watching movies—especially romantic comedies, documentaries, and heartfelt stories—along with sleeping and, of course, indulging in good food.
