Redbond Lodge is a fabulous care home. The staff are very welcoming, friendly and supportive My nan moved here for 9 months and we could not have wished for a better home even though it did take time to settle due to the dementia. One member of staff in particular went above and beyond and deserves a medal - we love her and so did our nan.

All the staff show compassion and empathy. Both my relations are clean, safe and cared for. I am welcomed anytime I visit, which are random. The beds, rooms are always clean and well-maintained. The residents are kept entertained and for their health and welfare is well organised, and any outings are really enjoyed. Everyone is valued and cared for and treated like family. I cannot praise Redbond Lodge staff highly enough. I know my loved ones have peace of mind in their last years.

My father has only been in Redbond Lodge for almost three weeks but in that short time he is settling in really well. This is thanks to all the staff who have been so kind and caring in helping him. It is peace of mind for our family to know that he is being so well cared for and looked after. On visiting, we are always made to feel very welcome. His personal care is excellent and he has a lovely room that is kept clean and tidy as are all other areas of home.

I chose Redbond Lodge seven years ago for my Father to move in. He was starting to suffer from Dementia at that time. Over the whole time of his stay the Redbond team have been exceptional. Despite his challenges they were able to keep my Father safe, well looked after, general cared for in all his needs. The fact that whenever I visited the staff knew all about him, what he had been doing, what he had eaten and drank, without asking a colleague showed they were really interested in him. That is what we all want for our vulnerable relatives, care we can trust.

Reply from Racquel Cruz, Home Manager at Redbond Lodge

Thank you for your lovely review and for giving us the opportunity to care for him. It has been a pleasure looking after him over these seven years. We remember how much he loves talking about the Lorries & trucks - it always made his day and brought him comfort.

My partner was in Redbond Lodge Dunmow for nearly two years with dementia. During that time he had such good appropriate and caring attention. When I visited which was on a regular basis I was made to feel "one of the family" and enjoyed visits as such. All the staff worked so well together and everybody was accessible to me at all times and I appeared to be no trouble to them. As he slowly deteriorated his extra needs were sensitively attended to and at his end such time care and attention was given to him and to me by all the staff and his surroundings were made so appropriate for our needs at the time. Time and help was also made available to me after he had died and this meant so much to me .

My 97 mum was in Rebond Lodge from January 2025 until September when she passed away. Mum had quite a few health challenges,
falls, broken bones and progressive dementia. Racquel, the care home manager was welcoming from day one and was always available to talk about mums constant changing needs and responded positively to ensuring her care plan met with the new developments. The quality of care was very good and most did their upmost to make mum feel loved and cared for. The food was somewhat basic, but there was always plenty of meals, snacks and drinks during the day. The level of cleaning was always very good, in the rooms as well as around the general areas. The activities co-ordinator worked tirelessly too.

I would like to say how much I appreciate the level of care mum received in her final week, there was two amazing people with her when she passed away and they treated her with such kindness, dignity and respect. It was so reassuring for us as a family.

My mother has been a resident at Redbond Lodge for five months and I have been very impressed by the care, compassion and friendliness displayed to me, family, friends, and most importantly to my mother directly. The team are helpful, responsive and really do seem to care, and this is displayed in the little touches and interactions with my mother that happen spontaneously. My mother needs full personal care and she always looks nice, with clean clothes and well groomed, and is encouraged to participate in the busy calendar of activities on offer - there is always something happening and the team often hold parties and group events to bring the residents together; look at Facebook! Someone is always on hand to help or answer questions which is reassuring when going through a big life change which can be emotional and stressful for everyone. Whenever I speak about Redbond Lodge I always get positive feedback from others and the home and team have a good reputation locally.

My dad, Ronald was a resident for 18 months, I can't thank racquel and her team enough for the genuine care, love, support and dignity they gave my dad, he loved the days out and doing some of the in house activities. He especially loved the time one of the team bought is own personal cricket kit in, pads, helmet etc and arranged for dad and some of the other gents to have a game of cricket, nothing was too much trouble. Once again, Thankyou all.

My mum had dementia and spent the last year of her life as a resident at Redbond Lodge. The home is large and busy and has a happy atmosphere and a full, varied activity programme with lots of outings. The staff were always caring and supportive. It's very well run and the manager is approachable and easy to contact and I found all the staff efficient and helpful. Mum received end of life care there which was extremely good - empathetic, dignified and respectful. Everyone was so caring of her and of us as a family.

Welcome to Redbond Lodge! My name is Raquel and I am the Home Manager of our lovely home. I moved to the UK in 2008 and started my career in the United Kingdom. I joined Runwood Homes in November 2008 in different roles from Healthcare Assistant, Care Team Leader, and Deputy Manager from 2012 until I decided to take a big responsibility as a Home Manager at Redbond Lodge. I strongly believe that Customer Service is a key priority, as is building up the home’s residents, families, relatives, and friends and understand the important contribution that these relationships make to the successful running of the care home.
