After learning my 89 year old father has the onset of dementia I'm very pleased that he is safe and secure. The staff here are very professional and everyone of them are friendly and treat my father with respect. I'm grateful for their hard work and everywhere in the place is very clean with lovely

The homes new manager has now been in charge for quite a few months now, his leadership and commitment is wonderful, I personally have much to be grateful to him for, his help and understanding is very much appreciated, thanks.
There is definitely a different and much improved atmosphere. Not that
there was any problems prior to his arrival but there's now a real buzz about the place.

Both of my parents were admitted into Longview following a hospital admission but we are delighted that they are now permanent residents. The staff work incredibly hard and the home is clean and well kept. Every member of staff is polite and really care for the residents, organising outings and activities
which have increased their quality of life massively while also keeping them safe. Thank you.

Everyone becomes anxious when an elderly parent arrives at the point in their life that means full-time care is required. When I walked into Longview, Rushwood, I was pleasantly surprised and soon very reassured. It is very clean and light-filled. The only smell was a tantalising one from the kitchen
where fresh food is cooked daily. The staff smile and everywhere I looked, they were being attentive. My mum's room is clean, tidy and well decorated. Clothes are washed regularly and neatly returned. A chart shows the weekly activities for those able. As I left, I reflected that the home is run like a welcoming hotel.

My mother was treated with respect and dignity right up to the point she passed away. I could not make it to the home before my mum passed, but the manager sat with til the end. For this, the home has my eternal gratitude.

My mum had been at Longview since 2021 and all the staff have looked after her beyond their job and always keeping me in contact with them.
During her last year being bed bound with dementia but the staff would come in and talk to her in for some quality time which she always enjoyed.
When my dad
was visiting her they would look after him as well which my dad enjoyed talking to the girls.
A room and the whole home was always clean. I cannot thank them enough.

Overall the staff are excellent and look after my mother very well, my mother is very deaf and has dementia so she is difficult to manage at times and has fixed ideas about when she should take her pills and get to bed etc. This means that it is sometimes difficult for me to know what to believe when
she complains to me. I tend to doubt what she says but would like to be kept informed more by the staff of changes. I would very much like her clothing returned to her more often.

Mum has been a resident of Longview since 2021 and I was anxious when in 2024 a new management team was put in place. My fears were unfounded, the new manager is excellent caring, compassionate and really proactive and very approachable. All the team are amazing, they are caring and attentive and the
atmosphere is great.
The home has been completely refurbished and is bright and cheerful and residents are given the choice of how they spend their days, not everyone wants or needs to be active some are just tired or exhausted but the staff continue to offer activities and encouragement.
I am delighted with every aspect of Longview and feel fortunate that my Mum has spent the last few years in their care.
A sincere thank you to every member of staff from all of our family.

I came for 1 week in August 2024 after a nasty fall at my daughter's home. I fell down a full flight of stairs. I could hardly walk when I arrived (age 79). The staff were all wonderful and caring. The food was good. I have nothing but praise for the staff. I was visiting from Spain.

My mum has been in Longview for just over 2 months. She settled in immediately thanks to the wonderful staff. Every single one of the staff are friendly, kind and caring and cannot be more helpful. Manager has been really helpful in accommodating Mum's needs and making her room feel like home. The whole
place is spotless, and meals are amazing. Lovely to feel Mum is safe and well looked after. Our family cannot thank the whole team enough.

My mother has been a resident at Longview for the past eight months. In all that time I have found all the staff to be excellent. They are caring, and respectful and show understanding of Mum's needs. I have seen how the staff try to encourage and support her, keeping her safe and looking after her
personal needs. The management has ensured that I am kept informed of any health issues Mum has. On my weekly visits, I find that all areas of the home are always kept clean and tidy. I would like to give a big thank you to all the staff and management for the excellent care and safe environment are providing for my mum.

My father was a resident at Longview for the last 3 years until his recent death, peacefully in “his own bed” which was very important to him and the family. During these three years we as a family have nothing but praise for the care shown towards Dad. All the staff, carers, domestics, chefs and handymen
treated my dad with care and respect. His room was always clean (unless he made a mess!) and nothing was too much trouble for anybody when asked. There have been recent difficulties over the last year with changes in management but in general, none of this impacted the care given to my dad. I thank every single member of staff past and present who looked after Dad so well.

Mum had been a resident at Longview since 2020 during which time I could not fault the loving care she received - truly exceptional! Her room was always lovingly cleaned - it always looked as if I had tidied and placed photos and niknaks myself. Dementia resulted in her sometimes being a little difficult
but she was always treated with respect and dignity in a light-hearted manner
Longview ensured I was able to remain her daughter - the level of care and well-being was second to none.
Sadly, Mum died, on 9th February 2024, and the genuine sadness at her passing was wholly evident.
They treated me with compassion and still nothing was too much trouble - outstanding to the very last.
Sincere thanks, Longview - you made the last couple of Mum's years happy for us both and gave me total peace of mind - God Bless you all.

My nan has been at Longview for 5 months now and we are very happy with her care.
She settled in well and is very well looked after. Recently there have been changes amongst the management team. This has improved the home even more.
Communication, staff ratios and support seem to have all improved
along with interaction, activities and little touches which make Longview even more homely.
There are a lot of long-standing staff who care for my mam and others so well. We are very grateful for them.

My dad seems to have settled in well but I do have concerns about the amount of staff to deal with the number of residents especially at weekends. I find the residents often just in the dining room on their own with no stimulation or supervision. Also would like updates on GP visits etc.

The most important aspect of my role is ensuring that both staff and residents feel supported. Knowing I contribute to their well-being gives me a profound sense of fulfilment. I am dedicated to keeping staff up to date with their training and ensuring they have the resources needed to excel. After all, it’s the dedication and hard work of our amazing staff that make this home run so smoothly.


I’ve been fortunate enough to enjoy several cruises throughout my life, which I consider a true blessing!


Spending time with my children and grandchildren is my greatest joy. I also have a passion for holidays and cruises, which allow me to explore and relax. A keen swimmer, I have always enjoyed this activity as a way to stay active and refreshed.
