Staff are trained to ensure they listen to residents' needs to ensure they've plenty to do, that may mean just a chat and cup of tea or something a little more lively.

Rooms are furnished but carers endeavour to accommodate those precious items to transform your room into the home that you want it to be.

My Mum has been a resident at Longview for over two years now. It took her time to get used to living there, she does have her ups and downs which is upsetting for her and me as she is very independent but has now got used to the carers helping her with personal care etc. They do a brilliant job and
I feel so thankful knowing she is looked after and safe in their hands.
It is difficult not being able to visit and see mum at the moment, although I do telephone to see how she is, with this Coronavirus, and for the carers and staff, they are doing a great job keeping the residents and themselves safe. I am very grateful and wish everybody safe and well at this time.

My dear Mum has lived in Longview for over nine yrs and has always been very well looked after. During the last year, she has been bedridden but she is bright and cheerful, she always looks clean and relatively healthy for her 101yrs. She calls all the carers her friends which I think speaks volumes
of her happy relationship with all the staff.

I cannot fault Longview for looking after my nan. They are very caring and keep her busy, meaning she has a much better quality of life than she had at home with us. She's part of a little group of friends and always has a smile on her face and a joke with the carers.
The care home is doing an amazing
job during the Covid lockdown keeping everyone safe and ensuring that the residents are having fun. I love seeing the photos and videos on social media as I can see how happy Nan is during this time when I cannot see her.
Totally recommend this home. Very clean, lovely staff who genuinely love their jobs, leaving happy guests.

My mum has been in the home for 18 months staff are brilliant. The staff are dealing brilliantly with being shut down due to Covid-19, they should be proud of themselves for all their hard work while all this is going on perhaps a rise in wages would suffice. They look after my mum very well.

I cannot thank you enough for your care and compassion that you have shown us (the relatives), my mum and the other people in your care. I had to make the hardest decision in December and place my nan in care. Upon looking at Longview, I knew fairly quickly it was the one I was going to choose. I was completely right, my nan started there by refusing to come out of her room, wouldn’t eat and just seemed so down. Speaking with the staff
it was agreed that she couldn’t remain sitting in her room day in day out, as she needed interaction and company. Now three months on, she is like a different lady and although her memory is very bad, like having part of my nan back again. The staff have been amazing and very patient with her, she is out of her room every day, eating well so putting weight on and has that spark back in her eye. They treat all their residents as family and go above and beyond to make every one of them special. Due to the Coronavirus, the home has been in lockdown but we are kept up to date with photos on their social media page and video calls. I definitely recommend Longview.

My sister was in Longview for 4 months suffering from an oesophagus growth which was getting better and from day one the love and helpful care she received was exceptional. She quickly accepted all the staff as her family and she wished she had gone there earlier. The staff (of all ages) showed affection
which made her feel very much at home. From the bottom of my heart, thank you!

Mum moved in unwillingly to the care home as she was highly independent in her own home until 86 years of age. They made her welcome and the care and support were of a very high standard. In her last months, they took excellent care of her and the facility was extremely clean and comfortable. Highly

My mother-in-law came to stay at Longview from a rehabilitation unit in a hospital. The manager was very professional and yet sympathetic to mum's needs. Many staff members were all very welcoming to Mum. Each and everyone treated my mother-in-law with respect. They really made her stay very happy.
At first, she was a bit apprehensive of being there but within 4 or 5 days there was never any mention of leaving. When we did take her out to lunch, she would always say when are you taking me back home. Excellent care and support all round.

My mother-in-law was in Longview care home, and although it was for a short period, we could not fault the care and attention that she received.
She was very happy with her room, and the care she received, the staff are very caring and helpful. There is a lovely community spirit in Longview care home.

From my first day's stay at Longview, I was impressed with the friendly and caring attitude of the staff with whom I came into contact. The decor and general environment contributed to a homely atmosphere and the food, hygiene and helpfulness of the staff must have been an important factor towards improving

Since 2012, I’ve been proud to be part of the Runwood Homes team.


Throughout my journey, I have led a nursing home to achieve an 'Outstanding' rating from the Care Quality Commission and have been honoured with several accolades, including 'Best Home of the Year.'

I love spending time with my two daughters and partner. Travel is a big part of my life; I enjoy holidays abroad the most, but I’m just as happy with a relaxing weekend getaway.

My name is Lizz. I am the Home Administrator at Longview. I recently returned to Runwood after a few years' break, during which I devoted my time to helping with my grandchildren. Prior to that, I proudly served at head office for 29 years as the procurement and purchasing manager.


The most important aspect of my role is ensuring that both staff and residents feel supported. Knowing I contribute to their well-being gives me a profound sense of fulfilment. I am dedicated to keeping staff up to date with their training and ensuring they have the resources needed to excel. After all, it’s the dedication and hard work of our amazing staff that make this home run so smoothly.


I’ve been fortunate enough to enjoy several cruises throughout my life, which I consider a true blessing!


Spending time with my children and grandchildren is my greatest joy. I also have a passion for holidays and cruises, which allow me to explore and relax. A keen swimmer, I have always enjoyed this activity as a way to stay active and refreshed.

Hi, I’m Stephen! I’ve been part of the Longview family for 14 years, starting as a carer, then working in activities, and now proudly serving as a Care Team Leader.


For me, the most important thing is ensuring that our home remains the fun and loving place that our amazing residents deserve. Person-centred care is a value I hold close to my heart, and I strive to make every day special for those we care for.


I’m currently training to become a minister for the Church of England. This journey is deeply meaningful to me, and it’s a privilege to explore my faith and service in this way.


Outside of work, I cherish time with my mum and family. Recently, I’ve taken up birdwatching—a fascinating and peaceful hobby. I love diving into books and articles about different bird species and then heading into nature to spot them in the wild.


I’m passionate about making a difference every day, whether it’s through my work at Longview or my spiritual journey.

My name is Jessica. With almost 16 years of experience at Runwood Homes, I have had the privilege of working in various roles, starting as a carer, then moving on to CTL, and now as a Lifestyle Coordinator. My passion lies in ensuring that our residents and their families have access to exciting and engaging events and activities, giving them plenty to look forward to. I take pride in planning special themed days and memorable bus trips, always tailoring them to the unique interests of each resident. A person-centred approach is key, especially when it comes to activities, and I believe it’s crucial in providing the best care.


One of my most memorable moments was attending my first concert at just 8 years old to see Simply Red live!


Outside of my work, I love spending time with my son, family, and friends. I’m an avid cinema-goer, having seen over 67 films in 2024 alone. I’m also passionate about running and am part of a local running club. This year, I’ve completed 11 races in just 9 months!
