Staff are trained to ensure they listen to residents' needs to ensure they've plenty to do, that may mean just a chat and cup of tea or something a little more lively.

My mum was in Longview for respite care. From the moment she arrived, I knew Mum was going to be well cared for. The staff are lovely and very helpful. Mum enjoyed the company of the other residents and staff, especially doing activities when she was in the lounge.

From the moment we enquired about my father-in-law becoming a long-term resident, we were greeted with a warm and friendly attitude, which instantly made us feel that Longview was the right place for him. Now that he has been there for a few months, the notable transformation in his quality of life

My dad has severe dementia and has been living here since January. He has a really nice room and all the management and staff are amazing, caring and take the time to interact with all the residents. My dad is happier here than he has been in a few years, it's so wonderful to see.

My mother was a resident here for the final year of her life while suffering from dementia. The staff are professional, committed and responsive. They went over and above to ensure mum’s quality of life was maintained during her time here and with good humour which mum certainly enjoyed. On visits,
I was welcomed and could see that all residents were content and happy. I could not have asked for a better team to support the whole family through that year. Thank you.

I would like to thank everyone there for the tender care they gave my mother. She lived here for a year and was very happy. The home was always clean and the staff were amazing. The team were so supportive of our whole family from the time mum moved in, to her passing away. They knew my mum and understood
her humour. Dementia is an awful illness but they treated all the residents with care dignity and humour. Thank you all so very much.

My husband was made very welcome from the start. The staff are very caring and friendly.
They also make us as a family feel very welcome as long as we follow their current safety precautions and are ready to answer any questions we have at any time.
My husband seems to have settled in well and gets
on with all the staff.
His room is very clean and had room to move about and has an en-suite toilet. There is also plenty of room to store his clothes and personal belongings.
Residents are encouraged to join in with different activities and they also have people go in to entertain them, which they enjoy.
Our minds are eased by knowing that our loved one is being well looked after.

I'm not sure where to start, but here goes.
There has been a huge positive shift within the home since the current manager has come into post. The home now smells fresh, no longer like urine. Staff are happy, supported and interact much better with those living within Longview.
The home really is
homely now, freshly decorated, clean, light and decorated with reminiscence pictures throughout.
I now feel that I am part of the Longview family - something that was missing prior to the new manager's appointment.
My father now ventures within the living rooms and even has friends - the staff's gentle encouragement whilst working at Dad's pace has enabled him to grow in confidence and want to form new relationships; which has been absolutely fantastic to see.
The home now works to the social model, which looks at the resident's needs in a holistic manner; no longer do I feel nervous about leaving my father. I have moved counties knowing my dad is safe, happy and loved. Thank you!

After visiting my husband (1st indoor visit) I was instantly put at ease by the caring staff.
Once my covid check was cleared I was allowed access. Walking through a light and airy corridor to my husband's room which was spotlessly clean. His room is lovely, clean, bright, I was very impressed by how
comfortable his room was.
The staff are all friendly and caring nothing is too much trouble for them and I could see my husband is well cared for.
It was a very upsetting time for me to send my husband to care but his needs are now so complex that professional care was required, after seeing him settled my mind was put at ease.
I’m lucky to have my husband cared for by the staff of this lovely home.

I would most certainly recommend Longview. The staff go above and beyond in any situation to resolve with the best of their ability. I must also commend them on a year which I’m sure they would like to forget. They managed to keep the pandemic out of the home in the 1st lockdown which must have been
very scary times for them all ensuring the safety of the residents as well as their own families at all times. My mum passed away in September 2020 (not from COVID I must add) and the dedication and compassion we were shown from the staff as a family was phenomenal so much so they are now part of our extended family and I will hopefully be returning to Longview when normal times return to volunteer and be able to show my gratitude.

Today was my nan’s 92nd birthday and the staff at Longview made it extremely special for her.
The area was decorated with balloons and banners and they made a fuss of her which was so lovely to see. We feel extremely grateful that we managed to get to see her on her special day and you could see that
the staff adore her just as much as we do!

My name is Lizz. I am the Home Administrator at Longview. I recently returned to Runwood after a few years' break, during which I devoted my time to helping with my grandchildren. Prior to that, I proudly served at head office for 29 years as the procurement and purchasing manager.


The most important aspect of my role is ensuring that both staff and residents feel supported. Knowing I contribute to their well-being gives me a profound sense of fulfilment. I am dedicated to keeping staff up to date with their training and ensuring they have the resources needed to excel. After all, it’s the dedication and hard work of our amazing staff that make this home run so smoothly.


I’ve been fortunate enough to enjoy several cruises throughout my life, which I consider a true blessing!


Spending time with my children and grandchildren is my greatest joy. I also have a passion for holidays and cruises, which allow me to explore and relax. A keen swimmer, I have always enjoyed this activity as a way to stay active and refreshed.

I’m currently training to become a minister for the Church of England. This journey is deeply meaningful to me, and it’s a privilege to explore my faith and service in this way.


Outside of work, I cherish time with my mum and family. Recently, I’ve taken up birdwatching—a fascinating and peaceful hobby. I love diving into books and articles about different bird species and then heading into nature to spot them in the wild.

My name is Jessica. With almost 16 years of experience at Runwood Homes, I have had the privilege of working in various roles, starting as a carer, then moving on to CTL, and now as a Lifestyle Coordinator. My passion lies in ensuring that our residents and their families have access to exciting and engaging events and activities, giving them plenty to look forward to. I take pride in planning special themed days and memorable bus trips, always tailoring them to the unique interests of each resident. A person-centred approach is key, especially when it comes to activities, and I believe it’s crucial in providing the best care.


One of my most memorable moments was attending my first concert at just 8 years old to see Simply Red live!


Outside of my work, I love spending time with my son, family, and friends. I’m an avid cinema-goer, having seen over 67 films in 2024 alone. I’m also passionate about running and am part of a local running club. This year, I’ve completed 11 races in just 9 months!
