Review from Patricia K (Daughter-in-law of Resident) published on 17 January 2020 Submitted via Postal Card

My mother-in-law came to stay at Longview from a rehabilitation unit in a hospital. The manager was very professional and yet sympathetic to mum's needs. Many staff members were all very welcoming to Mum. Each and everyone treated my mother-in-law with respect. They really made her stay very happy. At first, she was a bit apprehensive of being there but within 4 or 5 days there was never any mention of leaving. When we did take her out to lunch, she would always say when are you taking me back home. Excellent care and support all round.

I would like to thank the manager and all the staff at Longview for looking after Mum in her short stay. Although it was only weeks, she was so happy there and loved the girls like her own.

Thank you once again for all you have done.

My mother-in-law was in Longview care home, and although it was for a short period, we could not fault the care and attention that she received.

She was very happy with her room, and the care she received, the staff are very caring and helpful. There is a lovely community spirit in Longview care home.

From my first day's stay at Longview, I was impressed with the friendly and caring attitude of the staff with whom I came into contact. The decor and general environment contributed to a homely atmosphere and the food, hygiene and helpfulness of the staff must have been an important factor towards improving health and well being of the residents, in a truly professional manner.

Mum stayed at Longview for a 5-6 week period following a stay in hospital. Prior to this she had been living with me and I was her full-time carer, subsequently, it was difficult to think of her going into a care home, all but temporarily but at this time her care needs were too high for us to manage at home. However, from the moment we arrived my fears were allayed. The staff were helpful and professional. They treated mum with dignity, care and respect and this was consistent throughout her stay.

Staff were extremely helpful and attentive. Meals could have been better at times but working to their budgets was probably best on offer. Tea and coffee and cold drinks plentiful and room clean and tidy. Very welcoming to family and helpful when needed.

The carers in Longview were exceptional, they showed a very high level of care and attention to my mother and acts of kindness that touched my heart. One young lady came in on her day off to say goodbye to my mother when she left. Well done to all the Longview staff.

My mum has been a resident at Longview since July 2018 and from the first day she was there, she has been welcomed and shown so much kindness and help from the wonderful staff. They all seemed to know her name as soon as she arrived and have helped her immensely. All the staff try to make Longview a safe and happy place for the residents. My mum is very happy living at Longview. I couldn't ask for more.

Staff extremely friendly, encouraging and professional.
Husband badly let down during a hospital stay and advised he would have to go into care.

I only agreed to initially respite as I felt with the right help my husband could return home. As is the case with the hard work and dedication of the staff, my husband is again able to walk again albeit with a frame, feed and dress himself and is returning home with our sincere thanks for all the help provided by the staff.

Hello, my name is Jean Pierre.

I am the Deputy Manager at Longview, having recently joined Runwood Homes. Although I am still new to the company, I have felt very welcomed by the team. In my role, it’s incredibly important to me that our staff feel just as cared for as our wonderful residents. Supporting one another is key to creating a happy and positive environment for everyone.

Outside of work, I’m someone who enjoys life and stays active. I love cooking, running, music, travelling, and watching action movies, but most of all, I treasure spending time with my family.

I’m passionate about creating a positive and fun environment with my team, knowing that a joyful atmosphere makes all the difference. When our residents are smiling and content, I know I’ve done my job right.

I once managed a whirlwind trip to Milan for Christmas shopping—there and back in just one day!

I love spending time with my two daughters and partner. Travel is a big part of my life; I enjoy holidays abroad the most, but I’m just as happy with a relaxing weekend getaway.
