View Full Details of LongviewAfter learning my 89 year old father has the onset of dementia I'm very pleased that he is safe and secure. The staff here are very professional and everyone of them are friendly and treat my father with respect. I'm grateful for their hard work and everywhere in the place is very clean with lovely decorations. Very kind and welcoming to me as a visitor. Thank you.
The homes new manager has now been in charge for quite a few months now, his leadership and commitment is wonderful, I personally have much to be grateful to him for, his help and understanding is very much appreciated, thanks. There is definitely a different and much improved atmosphere. Not that there was any problems prior to his arrival but there's now a real buzz about the place.
Both of my parents were admitted into Longview following a hospital admission but we are delighted that they are now permanent residents. The staff work incredibly hard and the home is clean and well kept. Every member of staff is polite and really care for the residents, organising outings and activities which have increased their quality of life massively while also keeping them safe. Thank you.
Everyone becomes anxious when an elderly parent arrives at the point in their life that means full-time care is required. When I walked into Longview, Rushwood, I was pleasantly surprised and soon very reassured. It is very clean and light-filled. The only smell was a tantalising one from the kitchen where fresh food is cooked daily. The staff smile and everywhere I looked, they were being attentive. My mum's room is clean, tidy and well decorated. Clothes are washed regularly and neatly returned. A chart shows the weekly activities for those able. As I left, I reflected that the home is run like a welcoming hotel.
My mother was treated with respect and dignity right up to the point she passed away. I could not make it to the home before my mum passed, but the manager sat with til the end. For this, the home has my eternal gratitude.
He has settled in very well, staff are really friendly to him which makes him happy. I cannot complain about anything. It is so clean and smells lovely.
Manager and staff are amazing, all staff i have met are friendly and very caring , Manager very approachable and shows empathy and understanding. Residents are well looked after and cared for. I know my mum is safe and happy here Definitely recommend this carehome
My mum had been at Longview since 2021 and all the staff have looked after her beyond their job and always keeping me in contact with them. During her last year being bed bound with dementia but the staff would come in and talk to her in for some quality time which she always enjoyed. When my dad was visiting her they would look after him as well which my dad enjoyed talking to the girls. A room and the whole home was always clean. I cannot thank them enough. Thanks again.
Overall the staff are excellent and look after my mother very well, my mother is very deaf and has dementia so she is difficult to manage at times and has fixed ideas about when she should take her pills and get to bed etc. This means that it is sometimes difficult for me to know what to believe when she complains to me. I tend to doubt what she says but would like to be kept informed more by the staff of changes. I would very much like her clothing returned to her more often.
Mum has been a resident of Longview since 2021 and I was anxious when in 2024 a new management team was put in place. My fears were unfounded, the new manager is excellent caring, compassionate and really proactive and very approachable. All the team are amazing, they are caring and attentive and the atmosphere is great. The home has been completely refurbished and is bright and cheerful and residents are given the choice of how they spend their days, not everyone wants or needs to be active some are just tired or exhausted but the staff continue to offer activities and encouragement. I am delighted with every aspect of Longview and feel fortunate that my Mum has spent the last few years in their care. A sincere thank you to every member of staff from all of our family.
My Mother-in-law has settled in so well, the care the staff has provided has been so wonderful, and every care is taken to personalise their care. We love one member of staff in particular, she is a star and a breath of fresh air. Thank you so much to all.
I came for 1 week in August 2024 after a nasty fall at my daughter's home. I fell down a full flight of stairs. I could hardly walk when I arrived (age 79). The staff were all wonderful and caring. The food was good. I have nothing but praise for the staff. I was visiting from Spain.
My mum has been in Longview for just over 2 months. She settled in immediately thanks to the wonderful staff. Every single one of the staff are friendly, kind and caring and cannot be more helpful. Manager has been really helpful in accommodating Mum's needs and making her room feel like home. The whole place is spotless, and meals are amazing. Lovely to feel Mum is safe and well looked after. Our family cannot thank the whole team enough.
My mother has been a resident at Longview for the past eight months. In all that time I have found all the staff to be excellent. They are caring, and respectful and show understanding of Mum's needs. I have seen how the staff try to encourage and support her, keeping her safe and looking after her personal needs. The management has ensured that I am kept informed of any health issues Mum has. On my weekly visits, I find that all areas of the home are always kept clean and tidy. I would like to give a big thank you to all the staff and management for the excellent care and safe environment are providing for my mum.
My father was a resident at Longview for the last 3 years until his recent death, peacefully in “his own bed” which was very important to him and the family. During these three years we as a family have nothing but praise for the care shown towards Dad. All the staff, carers, domestics, chefs and handymen treated my dad with care and respect. His room was always clean (unless he made a mess!) and nothing was too much trouble for anybody when asked. There have been recent difficulties over the last year with changes in management but in general, none of this impacted the care given to my dad. I thank every single member of staff past and present who looked after Dad so well.
All the carers that I have come into contact with have been excellent. They are always helpful, polite and nothing is too much trouble. They really care about what they're doing and are fantastic at their job. When I leave after visiting my mum I know she is in very safe hands. I cannot praise all of them enough as they are all brilliant.
Mum had been a resident at Longview since 2020 during which time I could not fault the loving care she received - truly exceptional! Her room was always lovingly cleaned - it always looked as if I had tidied and placed photos and niknaks myself. Dementia resulted in her sometimes being a little difficult but she was always treated with respect and dignity in a light-hearted manner Longview ensured I was able to remain her daughter - the level of care and well-being was second to none. Sadly, Mum died, on 9th February 2024, and the genuine sadness at her passing was wholly evident. They treated me with compassion and still nothing was too much trouble - outstanding to the very last. Sincere thanks, Longview - you made the last couple of Mum's years happy for us both and gave me total peace of mind - God Bless you all.
My nan has been at Longview for 5 months now and we are very happy with her care. She settled in well and is very well looked after. Recently there have been changes amongst the management team. This has improved the home even more. Communication, staff ratios and support seem to have all improved along with interaction, activities and little touches which make Longview even more homely. There are a lot of long-standing staff who care for my mam and others so well. We are very grateful for them.
My dad seems to have settled in well but I do have concerns about the amount of staff to deal with the number of residents especially at weekends. I find the residents often just in the dining room on their own with no stimulation or supervision. Also would like updates on GP visits etc.
My dad has been in your care for over a year and the best thing I think anyone can say is that I am so happy and relaxed about leaving his care and wellbeing with you. You provide a happy and secure home for my dad and it really helps knowing my dad is being well looked after. Thank you for all you have done and continue to do. If you are considering a place to leave a loved one don't hesitate, Longview's staff are so helpful and understanding.
